Eleanor Anderton, if its not too much trouble, I would like to know the brand of: 1) The sink/vanity in the bathroom 2) The table, chairs and bench in the kitchen 3) The bed in the bedroom

The microwave is not attached to the stove when you buy the pack, just in the display at Shiny Shabby. As far as the appliances, the blue ones blend in nicely with the cabinets. The black ones are too dark, and I didn't want to do pink ones with the blue/grey cabinets. I was not impressed as m much with the appliances as I was with the cabinets. It's just a stylistic taste thing, there's nothing wrong with them. They have a flat looking texture, for example. They are a little smaller than the MudHoney ones, which is better proportionally with the cabinets, but I don't like the cord and wall outlets (easy enough to remove).

What you see here are the Your Dreams cabinets along with MudHoney Stainless appliances. I've made a fake "corner" piece for the lower cabinets by unlinking the plain version of the cabinet on the bottom right and removing the hardware, then shrinking the length. What you don't see here is the island and the stools that come with the set. I've been looking at options for the Shelley in order to put a kitchen and dining area in the front room with the turret. That turret area just begs for a round table, and other than this area, you'd have to put a kitchen in the room behind this one, I think. The only other room downstairs in the Shelley is a front "parlor" just inside the front door.

Another heads up for kitchens shoppers...at Uber there is a new kitchen release from /hive designed for smaller spaces. It also has a selection of textures.

A heads up for kitchen shoppers - Your Dreams is going to be featuring a nice looking kitchen cabinet set this weekend (Jan 24 - 25) for $50L during the Happy Weekend sale. I'd describe it as somewhat shabby chic, but not cutesy. White weathered-looking cabinet units and butcher block counter tops. Note that this does not include the appliances, just a upper counter unit, a lower counter unit with sink, another lower counter unit and an island with stools. OK, finally managed to get my bathroom and family room pictures up! I'd love to have either one in real life... So, this was the Hardy and the other two rooms (upstairs) were a bedroom and a combination guest bedroom/craft room. You can see that I didn't have a ton of decor/clutter, and curtains up only in the bathroom. But I also put a pretty detailed pond in the backyard, and plants in the front yard, and a few LI of ground cover because the land is sandy, and an 11LI skybox, and I still have about 28LI left. So those of you would like to try decorating a Hardy but are intimidated, I encourage you to give it a try. Especially if you like the Victorian exterior but would like to try a more contemporary interior.

Government offices? I'm thinking car dealerships, at least in the Mid-Atlantic and Southeast US...those along interstate highways fly big flags like that...

Seems like I always get the desire to post pictures right around the time I'm getting bored with the home and want to start a redesign! This build is a modern home within a Victorian, but there are clearly some Victorian influences... The kitchen...the second picture is looking out to the backyard and the ocean. Looking into the front hall from the living room. The living room...

I wonder if they will double back and release "Squishy Pickle Beta" aka the land region they did development on, as a real region of homes. Would make some sense to do that if they wanted to push out a whole bunch more houses. And is that the region that begins around SSP4 in the "north"?

Good point, Chad. I like the styling a little better on the other one, but both seem to work pretty well. Did you have to do any resizing? And are you going to add a refrigerator?

I have finally found a kitchen that is modular enough to work in most of the Victorian homes (and would likely work well in the Traditional ones too). https://marketplace.secondlife.com/p/TDE-Modular-Kitchen/18061395 (FYI, the refrigerator and oven are sold separately, by the same vendor).There's two sizes each of upper and lower cabinets as well as spacers. Here I am starting to put in the Hardy. You can see I still have to align some of it, but wow, it really fits the space and feels like a real, planned out kitchen. Which is what my Linden Homes have been missing. I have this over on the side of the house that is one long room, thinking that I would use the front for a more formal dining area, but now I am unsure if I will do that (I could change the kitchen texture to darker wood so it is more formal). Option 2 is to put the dining room in the back on the side of the house that has two rooms downstairs (after all there is that passage in the back between both sides of the house), and have an informal family room in front of the kitchen, with the formal living room in front of the dining room. Option 3 is to move the kitchen to the other side of the house, mirroring its current layout, and put the duding room in the room in front, allowing for the current space to become a HUGE great room. What do you think?

Sylvia, thanks for the recommendation on the ground cover. Will try it. Didn't even think of searching for "ground cover" @ the Marketplace! Just put in an order for the ground cover ($L50) the four packages of LISP mesh drapes ($L100 total) and a couple of the Antique Artistry mesh kitchens ($L99 each). That's a lot of bang for the buck.

Good catch on Antique Artistry. Wasn't extremely impressed with their upholstered furniture, but there seems to be some good detail in those kitchens, and period kitchens are not that common, let alone period MESH kitchens for $L99. And you could make those into contemporary kitchens done in a period style, just by adding a new stove and a modern refrigerator.

Well, I've added grass to my sandy lot...I didn't consider that out of the covenant any more than any other landscaping, after all it's natural for there to be some grass in sandy soil...I did purchase one Marketplace grass item that ended up being a flat prim, but removed it pretty quickly as it didn't work with the Linden terrain. PS...I'd love to switch it out for some more "mowed" looking grass if I can find it.

I can easily see myself abandoning my Victorian for something "new and improved" even with the oceanside location.

One of the worst infractions I've seen has been the use of particles that haven't been limited to parcels...since they can wreck havoc, creating lag for other users. One several months ago was particularly bad, but I did talk to the owner and they did eventually fix it, as well as their music that wasn't limited to the parcel. Some of the falling snow people put up for Christmas decorations may have been similar in its impact. Another bad inaction was a user putting up a big landscape screen on the back of their property, in violation of height limits as well as theme.

Just got back from "Bellisseria on Ice" (wearing the free hoodie) and am enjoying warming up by the cozy fireplace in my new Victorian home! And I'm pretty happy with the grass I've added to the sandy ground...it could be a little more "wintery" dry looking but overall I'm happy with the coverage...

LOL, but I do have to report that the boards are down! Hurray!
