Dell is based in Texas?  Not surprised they see no reason to be compliant with the West Coast energy conservation rules  Texas has lax pollution laws anyway - They have natural gas and gulf coast oil to burn.

California was the first to require low smog emission autos.  It helped clean up the LA air.  It really is just the West Coast being ahead of the rest of country.  It's always been that way.  Now the leader in power outages and forest fires too.

Well Texas better get on board although ERCOT can't keep the power on without rolling outages so it's probably a mute point for them anyway.

I also noticed the guy that wrote that article was using an oversized laptop.  Laptops have lousy cooling and cheap fans.

My computers are all desktop towers.  They run cool when idle and under load.  My MB and ambient inside cabinet temp is about 2 degrees above room temperature. My CPU never goes over 55 F, and runs around 40 F when idle.  GPU temp is 45 F now, and maxes at 60 F w/ sustained 100% load.  Heat is not a problem because I build my own systems to last.  I also use air filters on air intakes, and maintain positive pressure so the cracks don't suck in dust.  Slow speed large diameter fans also run slower, and I only use ball bearing fans.  I haven't had a noisy fan for years.  First thing I always did when I was using cheap power supplies was replace the fans with quality ball bearing fans.

Consumer grade brand name computers use cheap fans, and never enough cooling.  They are designed to last about 3 years. or whenever the warranty runs out.

At the end of the day people will do what they feel is best. Either they believe that their computer will "wear" out if they continually leave it on or they feel it will last longer if they turn it off.  If I've learned one thing from these forums very rarely does one side go over to the other. :) I, however will go over to the energy saving side from my first original post as I found out that the OP didn't really understand what the law was and posted in haste.  I am totally on board with it and believe it is a move in the right direction.

I don't see HOW you can't get political with this?  Is the government going to start telling me how much food I can keep in my fridge next? or how much water I"m allowed to use.  God forbid they start telling people they can only birth one child.

This almost seems like it came from the onion because its so ridiculous!

Hey everyone, so joined sl a couple years back and i went with the sign gianni look, now after doing some thinking im wanting to go a different route now and im not really sure which direction to head in, so if anyone can help with that would be very helpful :) thank you

It's hard to recommend something without knowing a few things.

Why do you want to a different route? What is it that you are not liking about Gianni?

What are you looking for? What look are you attempting to recreate?

There are literally thousands of options in SL. What one person might like, you may not. Do you want to be a vampire, a furry, a girl or a guy?

Do you want BOM? Do you want more variety in clothing? Hair?

    You gotta give us something!

*sighs* I liked them they way they were, there was nothing wrong with that.

This is all just extra steps.

I know right! After a hard day at work I don't want to have to move my pointer over 2 inches to hover over something to see how many posts that they've made!  Besides, the number is rounded up so it looks like people have made MORE posts than they actually have. That's a huge difference when they say someone posted 4.2k posts and it's actually only 4,072.  I call for a strike of the forum until they put it back the way it was.  It's all so 2021 now.

    Where they should be!

Humans do not accept change well. The more changes and the more frequently those changes occur, the unhappier LL's customers will be.

I used to work for a company called ACS (now Xerox) and they were always changing things and keeping the workers in an uproar. It wasn't long before we all started calling it Always Changing Sh*t. And not in a nice way.

LL, you do not want people to start calling LL ACS. LL is very, very close to crossing that line.

OMG! Could you be any more dramatic? It's a tiny little forum change.

I worked hard for mine, too, Chic.

Figures, the one place that stupid number means something to me and as usual, it gets taken away. Pretty soon there won't be much point (if any at all) to even going online any more.

Not all changes are for the better.

If this is what makes you think that there is no more point in going online then you need to reevaluate.

Just keep your mouse pointer on your name a few seconds, and there are the points.
I just added one on your account. I hope it helps.  :)

Now THAT is a cool feature! There are other things there as well. Very handy

Yeah.. but kinda hope its generally for the better...

Shrugs...I like it. The only thing different is the reputation is gone and no one paid attention to that anyway and it meant nothing.

    still looking o.O

I hate to burst your bubble here but no one is going to hire you from this post.  You can apply to jobs that are posted on the forum or join spam groups in-world that advertise jobs available. Just writing "still looking" will do you no good. but you know that already......

Unless she is a fastidious Deleter to keep her inventory tidy.

My partner has a Zooby tiger - I wonder if the actual manual has more information?   Usually these non copy breeder tools use a private web database.  I assume she has registered Sam with the Zooby database:

Immediately after rezzing, text appears that says,
"Please wait while I register myself..."
"Name me! Click me and type my name in chat."You should type a new dog name in chat. If you miss this info then click your dog and try again.
Once you type your dogs name in chat, a menu appears asking you to identify your dogs gender. Select Male or Female. Your dog is registered to our database and you are officially the owner.

    *IMPORTANT*
DO NOT PASS YOUR DOG TO ANYONE UNTIL YOU REZ AND REGISTER IT! If you pass your dog to someone before rezzing and naming it,  we cannot track your dog because our database will not identify you as an owner.

If you lose your dog please go to Zooby's in the Curious Canine aisle to receive a free Curious Canine Retrieval Box.

That's all I know from the Info cards.

This right here. It's not in her inventory anymore. It's gone. She has to follow the steps and use a retrieval box to get it back. If the retrivial box is not working then she needs to contact Zooby support.

Dog's name is Sam. Absolutely nowhere in the inventory, and I have one of the only organized inventories in SL.

Ok...well you can continue to b#tch and whine in here or join a Zooby group and ask people that will KNOW how to fix it. Up to you.

It could also be that you can't use those Zooby's in a Linden home either.

I'm certainly never buying anything from Zooby's again.

Well that's not fair to say because you don't know how to use their system.  Joining the specific product group in-world and asking for help in there is going to be the number one way to get assistance.  This forum can try to help but unless they have the same pet they can only guess.

  13. If this is anything like Zooby babies you have to use a retrieval box (like the one in your photo that has a script error) to get the animal back. If you just rejoined you probably have an out of date retrieval box.  They give them out free for the babies but not sure about the animals.  Join the group for the zooby pets and ask in there. They will be able to tell you exactly how to retrieve it.

Try that group because I couldn't find a specific Zooby pet group. They will be able to help or at least point you to where to get help.

Offer is for landscaping and decorating services at my discretion. No promises are made or implied. No other services offered or implied. No products supplied or implied. (I'm sorry I have to say this, but after last night....)

Logo design, web design, and marketing are not included in this offer.

Not to rain on your generous offer but 1 hour is hardly even enough time to discuss what type of landscape or decorating someone might want. What happens after the hour and you leave a 1/3 of the project unfinished?

I really don't know, I thought maybe it was for security, to make sure you aren't bringing weapons or other nasty things in. I'm still not sure, but I wish I could just TP right to the dance floor instead of having to do that long hike.

If they don't have the landing point set you can make your own TP. Just a warning though...don't do it in the middle of the dance floor and risk landing on someone. Create a TP off to the side
