So now instead of paying for something unknown that might be what you really want, you pay for things you know you don't want in order to get what you do want.

Exactly! As a consumer I think I'm just going to boycott all the stores that adapt this "conveyor belt" system and patronize the creators that create things and sell them without a "gimmick" for a fair price.  I don't think creators are thinking this through very well and the fact that ALL their customers are on this thread reading how they are trying to get their customers to spend more money instead of just being fair and selling the item for what it's worth. Walks off right behind you.

  2. Glad I was never into Gacha's because this conveyor belt system seems like a clusterF waiting to happen. Why would someone that just bought a common item and a rare item comes up NOT just buy it for themselves? Then you have hoards of people standing around waiting for the chance at getting the next item? no way , no how would I even go to a store that chose to sell things in this way.

'the customer is always wrong'  hmmm great selling tactic.   No matter how you argue it, there are a lot of customers like me, who have no interest in the fatpacks.  They may buy one, or two or three, but 1800 is a crazy amount for something that is not a necessity.  Patronising customers like me is not a great look.

What is a necessity in SL? You can get by without spending a dime in SL. If you want a luxury then you will just have to save up for it. Get a job and save. I'm not a seller so however I look is just fine with me. :) Understand the whole topic before you comment on a thread.

I got my lovely flying dragon from one pull of a 50L gacha, I didn't care what colour it was I just wanted ONE.  I am on a budget.  How on god's green earth is paying 1800L (even if I can afford it lol) a win for consumers like me?  Sure creators can sell fatpacks.  I am betting they will sell FAR LESS.

How do you figure that? 36 people have to buy one gacha at $L50 to equal one fatpack of $L1800. ONE person buying a fatpack will make up for that and trust me there is the market for it.  I'm sorry that you are on a budget but not everyone can afford everything in SL. You'll have to save your money I guess.

  5. Jian has already converted 3 of their Gacha's to fatpacks for $1,800 each. Seems very reasonable to me as you get everything. This is an example of a creator not whining about how terrible this is and went to work to fix it to benefit them. The still have the Gacha's till Sept 1st but they are easing customers into the new way it will be sold. Great job Jian!

Sorry I have already responded to a similar question. Again I do not agree with your pov. Can't you all just agree to disagree? Or am I required to keep repeating myself? That being said I'm kind of loving the SMH responses. So please continue. It reminds me of this three-headed bobblehead doll I once won at a carnival with raffle tickets I paid money for.

You are only repeating yourself because you choose to. Yes, I am entitled to respond to your response to a post. It is called a discussion. :)

I agree with this. I don't agree with the relationship between that and playing SL's version of gacha. Sorry.

It almost identical to gambling addiction in the real world except it's in the virtual world. Have you not heard of people addicted to gambling online?

So now gacha players are being compared to junkies and crackheads? Like seriously lol. I live 5 miles from an actual casino. I think its 5 years old now. I've never been there nor do I plan on going. There's another one about an hours or so drive I think that's been there most of my life. Never been there either nor do I plan on going. I play lotto once in a blue moon if I happen to have cash on me when at the convenience store. I have zero aspirations of going on some vegas vacation or anything. If I were to go out west Im far more likely spend a week in SF and have some good food, scenery, wine and sushi. You seem to have a very low bar for what you consider a junky.

Actually a gambling addiction is very comparable to a junkie. Do some research.

If I was in the gacha business, I would keep it simple and change to what more and more clothing venues seem to start doing:
Sell the not so popular items individually and put the whole collection including the eye candy pieces in an (expensive) fatpack.

    Example (not really existing):
Sid's home bar.  20 different items.
For sale individual: the dartboard, the bar stools, the billiard cue rack, the lightings, a witty beer poster, the rug etc.
    All for prices between ariund 100 L$ - 200$
These are all available in the fat pack as well. Plus the fatpack contains exclusively the fully animated bar, the fully animated pool table and the animated jukebox.
    Fatpack price X,000 L$.

That would most certainly deter me from purchasing from that store if creators adapted this idea.

I can just see it ... one person steps aside hoping someone else will pay until what they want comes up .. and then what happens when they both want that item? They fight over it? I dunno as a creator I don't want my customers put in a position to have to fight with each other over my products.

Yes! I brought that up in the first 10 pages of the thread. and do store owners really want people just hanging out at their store buying nothing all day clogging it up so others can't get in to buy bringing their dogs and kids and any other attachments that contribute to lag. If I were a store owner I'd think very carefully about that.

Considering there is plenty of people (myself included) questioning your idea, it points to you not having thought it through fully/the idea being against policy/you not comprehending the folly in it.

Doesn't matter. When LL tells her no then she will comprehend.

Because when a man hires me as an escort, he knows exactly what he's getting.

This is subject to who's interpretation? The escort or the client?  They don't know exactly what they are getting. The have an "idea" but not exactly.  Hmm kinda like a Gacha. :)

In the Real world, you have recourse if the product is not as advertised or described whether through store returns or courts if need be. In this virtual world we have to suck up the loss.

What does this have to do with this discussion? nothing..but you can start your own thread about it.

Or require all products to have a demo....to cancel out that potential randomness.

You are not even making sense. There is no randomness. It's not like one person got the skirt that looked great on them and you got the goodwill version. THEY ARE ALL THE SAME SKIRT!

Indeed. But your article showed what I said. kompu gachas banned that's a different thing. And yes we ( my son and I or my daughter and I) play a gacha machine a few times a months (like after grocery shopping or such) and there are plenty of stores here with it and in the airports too

I had no idea Gacha's were a real life thing.  How very terribly sad that people are taken advantage of this way.

As long as the new conveyer belt style of vendor is fine, which it appears to be so far, looks like the immediate path ahead is pretty clear: start converting gacha to conveyors.

Perhaps wait for LL to come out and say what is fine and not and not assume?

    Get off of my post,

I am not asking one to spam or anything, im just giving ideas of how they can find people to turn in a notecard to. Please don't make a comment on this post if you're not interested on employment.

    Thank You

That's EXACTLY what you are asking people to do.

So in a nutshell, it is notecard dropping. The notecard explaining anything and everything about the business is IN the notecard, all you have to do is open avatar profiles and drag and drop.

But how do I know if im getting paid correctly ? Well to be honest, I pay fair and square - no shortcuts no gimmicks, but you can always audit yourself by asking the people you gave a notecard too if they booked or not. Simple !

Never give up, If your constantly dropping notecards to whoever wherever, or whatever group you will constantly make money.

Notecard dropping to random avatars IS spam.

In addition you want people to keep track of who they sent the notecard to and then make them contact everyone to find out if they booked with you or not?  THAT would be a job in itself and one that makes no money nor any sense. How hard is it for you to keep track of referrals?

This is more than spamming people. This is simply a scam and not a very creative one at that.

BTW, you can't ask people to "get off your post" Once you posted it then it became fair for anyone to respond. and no LL won't delete the thread.

It sucks that a few special snowflakes that can't act as responsible adults want to ruin Gachas for everyone.

What's next? no more escorting because some winey ***** gets offended. We re all adults & we have a right o gamble as we see fit & suffer the consequences as adults.

it's called the LAW. smh..what about that don't you get?

It would probably be ok, but the issue is, it get's rid of the main reason people paid gachas. Sure you'd likely get a junk item, but you had that chance of getting the rare. If you know up front you're getting the junk, fewer will want to pay.

Why make junk at all. There is no such thing as a 'rare' pixel.

You really think they would do such a thing quickly? It took them years to introduce skill regions after their gambling ban.

The way this has been announced sounds as if LL have been given some insider knowledge as to what is to come.

This right here...People assume LL has just hastily decided this. Trust me that they have a clear understanding of the laws and thisi is not changing.
