No, I don't think you  understood the OP.  She said

She's renting on a parcel that is set up for more than one tenant, stacked in skyboxes.  So, she is out of luck.  She cannot prevent other people who are already on her parcel from camming into her skybox.

AH ok..I missed that. Time to move! LOL

I guess I'm not understanding why the person who owns the parcel would have that checked but then I don't get why anyone has it checked unless you are surrounded by friends on their own parcels next to you.

Thanks for the replies but I am well aware of all the info everyone has given.  I am simply asking if there is a device available, maybe an orb like device, that I can place in my skybox to prevent people caming inside?   My thought is that maybe someone by now has come up with something by now as this is an age old issue

I don't think you are understanding. If you have the other people from other parcels cannot see in or chat with me unchecked then he can't SEE your avatar even if he cams in. The only way he could see you is if he is actually on your parcel so he did not see you undress no matter what he IM's you.  So you don't really have a problem. Just mute him and live your life knowing that they can't see you. The solution for this age old issue has already been invented.

by the way no i never did charge  never did. all i had in the park were tip jars but no one had to tip me. and as far as not making money oh no back then got alot of money in tips . but that is besides the point. and if you think it dose not work then guess you never saw prim hearts here in sl. or unknown theme park of any of the other still successful parks here in sl. and Dynasty's kindom lasted from 2012 all the way to 2020 so much so that a good friend of mone loki rat put it on here youtube channel see those links in the post check them out that was my park and that is what someone will get if they do this deal. it's nothing to sneeze at. just cause you do'nt like parks dose not mean they are not popular or of that they do'nt bring traffic cause  believe me they do just observe the parks around here if you think sam that they do'nt bring the property of the land value or not. then again check out the parks here in sl. then try to say all that again.lol it's ok sam you saying all that you said aboutit. because i like a good joke and you just told one big load of bull ***** lol you might want me to get all upset and call you names and stuff. well i will just do this HAVE A NICE DAY ?

Ok then I'm not understanding if it brings in a lots of money and increases land value why can't you afford it on your own. If it covers the expenses then you should be good. If it doesn't then why would someone do it?

  4. Who comes on a forum and asks people to pay for something that will bring no profit and call them an investor? Not only that but a HUGE amount every month? Seriously? Are you planning on charging for admission? How are they investing and how will they get back their investment. Sounds like begging to me and always has.

just a little fyi 175 dollers is alot of money to pay for land when you got other expences to pay every month. and besides like i said the person with the land is getting something out of it a whole park that they co own. obviously it's a good deal wich it is but obviously other in the past thought so too.

How is this a good deal and yes it's a lot of money to pay for land. Do you think other people just have money to throw to the wind? Why would they pay for your dream. Why not pay for their own dream?

They are getting USE of a whole park. The only thing they will co-own is the land that they will be paying for.

When you post on a public forum you don't get to pick and choose who responds and just because they don't agree with you doesn't mean they are a troll.  You are simply a beggar.

Creators - and by extension us consumers -  are about to find out. I, too, am looking forward to September, but I'm also a bit nervous. 10,000L$ for a fatpack? Hell no. Thing is, at that price, creators don't need that many customers, and I have no doubt they will find them. So...too bad for the rest of us?

If someone wants to spend almost $50 RL on a fatpack of Gatcha's then they can have them.  I would not be one to be spending that kind of money on a set of anything that can go "poof" tomorrow if SL closes.  One would be good enough for me.

Can't jump on the bandwagon to stop legal activity that likely arose under duress with the new gatcha policy.

I think it's a great idea if someone has a tipjar over their head. I haven't seen one even going to lots of merchant events, but if they have a very creative costume and "look," I would add to their tipjar on that basis alone. Put a tipjar on your head, please!

But...What is the setting in which people put tipjars on their heads? If you mean "working girls" I don't visit those establishments and am not going to tip anybody in that line of work for any reason. But they are free to do what they want in an adult world.

The idea that this economically necessary activity should be banned due to theh difficulty of camming in, in a world where so many people do camming in that Firestorm even has a feature that lets a user know when someone is camming in on them (correct? is simply not justifiable.

I think a profile pick that shows your store or venue so that I can go there and tip there is a better proposition in some ways and doesn't rely on me trying to click on you in a laggy event. But picks are limited, and strangely, no one has ever demanded that the Lindens make more pick space, even those picks are used to add to profile information, tell elaborate stories, make family and history albums of virtual lives, etc. and not just to direct people to an exact location inworld.

The thing most people seem to have on their heads as a titler is yet another aspect of their name which is already system and display as different, or they have a "head patter" and display the number of times people have patted their heads, something I don't feel the need to do.

Man, your responses to posts make everything always so complicated. I hardly ever even read your responses because they are so convoluted and long winded and by long-winded I mean almost a book.

No, it's not an "adult establishment" It was 3 regular clubs. BTW, most people, if they are smart, turn that feature off in firestorm.

Also, good lord this has NOTHING to do at all with Gatcha's. Do you need another thread to post in about that?

Yes, the IRS is getting more strict as we've increasingly moved online in so many respects.

In the past one didn't have to report hobby income under a certain amount, but now even that has to be reported    :(

So you are saying that regardless if you withdraw the money any net profit has to be reported to the IRS? Good luck with that. So all these hosts and DJ's are supposed to be reporting the lindens they earned?

Wise advice, not doubt, but we are at that bridge, and it appears many have not actually saved up for a rainy day (which now they're learning might not have been a wise option, we live and we learn) This is part of the problem, not only are we at that bridge, but once we cross the other side, the whole area is going to get blown up leaving behind an enormous crater much larger than the bridge. We cannot go back, we cannot rebuild a new bridge, we need to press on.

These replacement machine ideas are only really redesigns of the exact same bridge intended to cover that newly created crater but will all fall short of succeeding, and do nothing to preserve life moving forward. They're only going to cause the people focusing on them or desiring to use them, to wither away on the shore. Those who opt instead to keep pressing on and stop looking to remake a bridge that will never get built, will likely thrive. At it's core it's common sense, if you really want to boil it down. The longer you spend working on ideas that cannot and will not work, the less time you have for ones that do and will.

Also, since everything is so blatantly out in the open how many consumers can they expect will even be on board?

Cause there is a marketplace around... put fixed price and u can choice what you want then will have no sense to do all this.....gachas in the end is like wholesale and LL gain money every transaction made on MP , so it s ok if u can choice to buy the whole set no transfer at x price but if someone want to pay 75L and choose all what they want sound ridicolous so if u wanna pay 75L u can choose what the vendor give u in that moment with the option that one day u can resell or trade otherwise buy the entire set i don t know at 3500L for example

Wholesale, my dear is typically cheaper but you probably won't get that.

  11. Tell me again why creators can't simply put prices on things and sell them?

    Common - 100L - Unlimited amount

    Uncommon - 500L - 500 Available

    Rare - 2000L - 200 Available

All examples of course.  Will no one buy the Common and only buy the rares which would make them not rare anymore?

Thank you for posting this, even if some backlash may come your way from it.  It's good to see people being honest and upfront on these things.

Here's the thing.  I sure as hell won't be playing the new system but then I rarely played the old one.  There will be people who think this new system is somehow more fair and will continue to pump money into it in the hope that the next item will be what they really want.  I think any merchant who buys into this thinking it's a lovely work around to the gacha ban will find themselves losing customers when, at some point, those customers figure out it's an even worse system.

Have at it.  I won't be shopping at any store that uses it.  I'm sure quite a few people feel the same as me.

A few pages back, I mentioned a better solution.  Point for each item in a set you buy, collect enough points and purchase the rare.  No random purchases.  No buying something you don't want.  Buy the color/items you want.  Sort of like Epiphany does with points.  Any points from any machine the store has can be accumulated to purchase any rare.  Rares are displayed on a separate vendor that uses points only.

If anything this has become a HUGE eye opener for consumers of how creators have been taking advantage of them for years.  TBH, I could play SL from here on out without spending any more money except possibly Tier and/or land rental. So creators better figure out some clever way to make me spend my money because it's sure not going to be this and won't be for a lot of people. Sure, in the beginning it may seem that it is a good solution but I guarantee that once the concept is fully implemented it will go over like a lead foot and become a nightmare. If your products can't sell without using these tactics then really how good was the product to begin with.

So now instead of paying for something unknown that might be what you really want, you pay for things you know you don't want in order to get what you do want.

    * walks off, shaking her head, mumbling something about a fool and his money.

Exactly! As a consumer I think I'm just going to boycott all the stores that adapt this "conveyor belt" system and patronize the creators that create things and sell them without a "gimmick" for a fair price.  I don't think creators are thinking this through very well and the fact that ALL their customers are on this thread reading how they are trying to get their customers to spend more money instead of just being fair and selling the item for what it's worth. Walks off right behind you.

  14. Glad I was never into Gacha's because this conveyor belt system seems like a clusterF waiting to happen. Why would someone that just bought a common item and a rare item comes up NOT just buy it for themselves? Then you have hoards of people standing around waiting for the chance at getting the next item? no way , no how would I even go to a store that chose to sell things in this way.

'the customer is always wrong'  hmmm great selling tactic.   No matter how you argue it, there are a lot of customers like me, who have no interest in the fatpacks.  They may buy one, or two or three, but 1800 is a crazy amount for something that is not a necessity.  Patronising customers like me is not a great look.

What is a necessity in SL? You can get by without spending a dime in SL. If you want a luxury then you will just have to save up for it. Get a job and save. I'm not a seller so however I look is just fine with me. :) Understand the whole topic before you comment on a thread.

I got my lovely flying dragon from one pull of a 50L gacha, I didn't care what colour it was I just wanted ONE.  I am on a budget.  How on god's green earth is paying 1800L (even if I can afford it lol) a win for consumers like me?  Sure creators can sell fatpacks.  I am betting they will sell FAR LESS.

How do you figure that? 36 people have to buy one gacha at $L50 to equal one fatpack of $L1800. ONE person buying a fatpack will make up for that and trust me there is the market for it.  I'm sorry that you are on a budget but not everyone can afford everything in SL. You'll have to save your money I guess.

  17. Jian has already converted 3 of their Gacha's to fatpacks for $1,800 each. Seems very reasonable to me as you get everything. This is an example of a creator not whining about how terrible this is and went to work to fix it to benefit them. The still have the Gacha's till Sept 1st but they are easing customers into the new way it will be sold. Great job Jian!
