No one is going to point out the elephant in the room? That this section is for feedback concerning the Forum (and other related sections) itself?

You could have just reported the post and asked that it be moved.

I disagree. I think it's exactly what will bring in new users. If I was a new user and this brought me in I'd have to say I'd be a bit disappointed that the majority of SL doesn't look like this. That would make me leave more than a picture of a blue eye.

  4. I saw in another virtual world that someone is charging $3.00 USD with PayPal to buy a ticket to see a live singer.

Is this a thing in Second life currently?  Would this be sustainable in Second Life or a total flop?  I know I would be unwilling to pay a "ticket" price on top of tipping. I would just skip it.

    Thoughts?

It's context.  When you've spoken against something someone has said and then keep giving them scorn laughs in their subsequent posts, it's fairly obvious.  No psychic ability needed but a basic understanding of behavior.

You don't watch closely enough. Your blindfold to some people is showing.

True but most of the time, I'll use laugh when  it's something funny.  Some people seem to use it purely as scorn.

I laugh at your stuff all the time!

And with that, I'll move on and leave this thread to the...those 2...what I mean is...

So now you are psychic? ha! I had no idea so many posts in a forum allowed you to know what is in the minds of others when they use a reaction. I find that most hilarious....and scornful.

Not to people who have posted something serious.  Something I think is eye rolling, yes.  Something genuinely funny, yes.  Stuff someone says just to be contrary, sure.  Check my postings history.

I'll use confused more than scorn laugh.

LOL.  Good Lord who cares?? I'm not THAT interested to check your posting history. That's more along your mode of entertainment.

I think we should use "Cockney rhyming slang", too bad most of us won't understand it..

Do you not understand that most of us never heard, read, or know the term "remmy" as the OP used it? Throw around random slang, that's unfamiliar, and surprise, surprise..people will make fun of you for it!

Cyberbullying is bullying that takes place over digital devices like cell phones, computers, and tablets. Cyberbullying includes sending, posting, or sharing negative, harmful, false, or mean content about someone else.

I might buy all of these various reasons that people are throwing out except the the OP managed to type the full word correctly spelled at the end of his post.

Thus, the previous two usages of "remmy" really are just laziness or someone thinking it is "cool" to talk that way.

Maybe they do think it's cool to talk that way. Who are you to say it's not?? Why feel the need to even mention it? It's a form of bullying. This whole thread is...

  10. Has anyone thought that people that may not use correct grammar or type like an English Professor might have a reason other than laziness? Maybe they have a traumatic brain injury or they are dyslectic.  Perhaps they weren't given the luxury of an education that taught them how to construct a sentence or use proper grammar.

I see all over these forums about how you shouldn't be racist and accept how people want to play their second life and how this is discriminating and that is insensitive, yet many people in this post feel it necessary to make fun of someone who isn't just like them over GRAMMAR?!  A new poster that, God forbid, just came here asking for information.

Um firstly, I am a native English speaker. Where you got the idea I wasn't who knows.

Secondly, in your Russian example you are also incorrect, as that is exactly when ellipses are used in English. Trailing off of thought is counted as an omission in written speech and therefore perfectly acceptable in English as well. The OP however didn't do that either.

[rant] I thought that the Grammar Police and The Spelling Mob left the Internet somewhere in the 90ties.
It seems, that some people with their precious love for English spelling and grammar have difficulties to get their minds wrapped around the fact that the Internet is used by people of all kinds of cultures, nationalities and education levels. Standard English (not that that really exists other than in schoolbooks, literature and in lingual troubled minds) is not the first language for most people on this planet.
People try to communicate here. They don't try to win the  Nobel price for literature.  [/rant]

Sorry Adec, I can't help you with an answer about the music you are looking for.

Totally agree!  21 responses in this thread and only three people responded with something constructive to say relevant to the actual post.  There will always be someone that has an issue one way or another about how a post is written or formatted.

What is wasting space is all these posts that have nothing to do with the original question. If you can't read it then just pass it by.

Hopefully the OP will come back and let Garnet know if that was the right video but it's doubtful they will respond since everyone was so quick to tear him a new one.

Yes, I feel more confident too after the second jab, but I'm still very careful.
Yesterday I was for the first time since February last year in a supermarket during peek hours.
I didn't feel comfy at all to be honest.
So next visits will be around closing hours or early morning again I guess.

    The party isn't over yet.

Exactly! I stopped at the vape store just before I went in to get my second shot. The clerk and I started discuss it and he went off on a tangent about how he's against vaccinations and the government can't make him do anything. He also mentioned that a lot of religions don't believe in vaccinations.  I'm all for people choosing what medical treatment they want to get based on religion when it only effects them, but when it puts others in danger I don't think they should be given a pass.  So I am thankful both he and I were wearing masks and I for sure backed way up.

The thing is that the vaccine is not 100% effective and you can't tell by looking who is and who isn't vaccinated.  So I am not at all confident or comfortable going out without a mask.  Since I find it very hard to breathe and it fogs up my glasses I am still as isolated as I was before I was vaccinated.

The last RP sim I played at ended up with some troubles like that. The original designer of the place had done a great job, but didn't have the time to run the place and so handed it over to another person, and for a while that worked great, but then they in turn handed it over to a new person because they too ran out of time and energy to run the sim, and after a couple of weeks I just see the Discord server exploded overnight - the new owner hadn't paid for the place, and everything had been auto-returned, so everyone were .. Not happy.

When I asked about the objects they said they stayed and that was how the previous owner had set it up.  So it wasn't even the persons things that was selling the sim.  I was mostly concerned that the previous owner would come and pick everything up.

  15. If you are desperate not to have that out of your bank you might have to take cash advance off of your Visa and make a deposit into your bank account.  While money normally comes out very fast it can take 10-14 days to reverse something and get a refund. If it's not a matter of needing the money I would leave it like it is or you will have a huge headache on your hands.

  16. Well the fact that a totally landscaped region for city Roleplaying was for sale was perfect BUT the highest bid was 12,500 and the $100 transfer fee. Seemed REALLY low ball to me.  I guess still getting a full region for that cost is still cheaper than ordering one from LL and it was adult.  Just not apparent what the catch is here that I'm missing because I'm sure that there is one.

  17. 57 minutes ago, Rowan Amore said:

Yes.  Even if they said the objects would stay, they can remove them at any time.  If it's an entire region and the settings are set to return objects, it might do so automatically.

Ok, I'll skip it then. Someone is selling a private RP region and it's very nicely done but none of the objects would be mine and I'm not really willing to take that risk. Thanks!

Many of the fantasy-type hairs from No_Match are older, so not quite as high quality as newer hairs. Especially the styles Rowan posted. Unfortunately for now at least, we can't really be picky if we want these types(I have an alt I used one of No_Match's older styles on. It's even older than those lol). If I was able to make hair, you can bet your booty i'd make plenty of fantasy-type styles. I'm pretty over and bored with all the voluminous up-n-swept hairstyles coming out these days.

I love Truth hair but wish that they would create more different styles. A lot of their hair looks the same. Mid length hair like a Jennifer Aniston or messier shoulder length hair. I do not know the first thing about creating hair so maybe this just is not possible to achieve with good quality

If it's upsetting you and your partner, you and your partner come first.  You need to make the decision what to do for the sake of you and your partner.  It sounds like it's making them jealous.

Most things in SL require permission first and I think that's fair.  But, I just wanted to say something real quick because it's a really outrageously silly experience I had in SL.  When I came to SL this third time I came solely to build.  Every once in awhile I'd go to a club though.  One time at a club this female jumps into my IM screaming at me because I'm looking at her boyfriend.  LOL  I will never forget this because if she read my profile it's all about building.  The funny thing is I make avatars too and at that time was making an ancient Albino race with females first but then I wanted to add males, so I was looking at her bf because I was starting to make a male avatar shape for this ancient Albino race.  Talk about an over-reaction from this person of whom her bf, other than a part of his look I might have been interested in at the time, I could have cared less.   And with telling the story, I don't even remember what I was looking at him about.  But, she blew her stack because a builder of avatars was looking at her bf.

A similar thing happened to me as well. I was very new, maybe 6 months and had reinstalled FS to the new version and didn't realize that my crosshairs were enabled or even that people could see I was looking at them.  I was at a club and I didn't have many outfits and hadn't found the handy, dandy "what is she wearing" HUD yet so I was looking at her outfit close up.  This girl made a huge fuss in local chat about how I was all up in her space (I was across the room) She caused such a ruckus she was asked to leave.  It was a long time before I went back to that club. lol
