  1. The body does - perhaps not the demo but the body is definitely BoM ready. You just have to press a thing in the thing and it's there (that made perfect sense, didn't it? lol )
  2. Many skin creators are now including system skins together with their appliers. I'm wearing a recent one right now by Glam Affair ('scuse the rough n ready pic but you get the idea): The applier is up top for those who don't want to use the system version. I'm finding it fun to mess around with.
  3. Couldn't agree with you more - I just had no idea that a discussion about Legacy could lead to such heated debates but yes, I think they've done an amazing job too; they've pushed the bar a little higher - others are going to have to step up their game if they want to compete.
  4. And yet, it's astonishing how many people get their knickers in a twist over it. smh
  5. I happen to like it rather a lot and can see the amount of work that went into it - so sue me
  6. ...I hate you so hard right now....haha
  7. Oh. My. Giddy. Aunt! Don't tell me it's on the MP - after all that aggro?????????!!!!! *SCREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAMMMMMM!!!!*
  8. It definitely won't win 'Shopping Experience of the Year'.
  9. Oh believe me, I feel your pain...been there, tantrum'd that haha. But yes, sometimes lag and other stuff seem to affect it.
  10. To navigate the store, requires something few SL residents seem able to do - the ability and inclination to read. It's almost like following a story in 3D - just watch the words on the wall and eventually, you'll see the 'Buy Now' sign.
  11. Congrats on getting Legacy. I agree with you about choices. Can never be too many, right? haha
  12. Just for those who might be fretting (I know some do) because they can't afford the Legacy body just yet, I discovered something a short while ago and thought I'd share it. Complexity is a little higher than Maitreya (it's all those blasted pollywaffle thingames) - but not overly so when you look at the body and see why it's becoming so popular - it's very smooth, very feminine and just so many things I don't have adjectives for. Without hair, clothes or shoes, Legacy complexity is 23,764 - a little less than wearing Maitreya with hair, clothes and shoes (depending on said hair, clothes and shoes, ofc) and any bento head you like - I just happened to be wearing Catwa at the time. Although I'm still very glad I bought the body (I seriously find it difficult not wasting time staring at it), I've only just discovered that the few shapes I've so far made specifically for Legacy, can also be worn on Maitreya, which is great for those who really can't afford to buy a Legacy body - and let's be honest - the Legacy body is beautiful, but not an essential item, so there's no need for anyone to fret if they can't afford it. Here's a quick comparison pic (same head, same hair, same skin, same shape, same clothes); about the only difference to the naked eye is really the clavicle area (higher on Maitreya) and the quality of skin texture (clearer/richer/smoother on Legacy). Although there's more differences to be seen without clothes on - things are more clearly defined and much smoother on Legacy. Hope this is helpful. There hasn't been a single step along the way with the Legacy body - from demo to purchase to wearing regularly - where I've felt I needed any sort of customer assistance; everything just works perfectly. So delighted that I can wear non-Legacy clothes (thanks to the deformers) but also happy to see many clothes and skin creators now including Legacy sizing and body appliers. In the meantime, for those who feel like they're missing out - it's really just an aesthetic thing; as far as functionality goes, Maitreya still fits the bill and still looks lovely, so fret not!
  13. @Skell Dagger Thank you very much, Skell, for that detailed explanation. My creator friend rescued the day when she explained just that - I reached for the slider, zoomed it back to zero - and 'fugly' was relegated to 'nevermore'
  14. No doubt you're quite right, but that's not what this thread was about. Would suggest perhaps starting a new thread dealing with the wailing and gnashing of teeth over whether or not body appliers will be included (and I have absolutely no idea how that works anyway), but given that BoM is a thing now, I'm guessing it's a marketable point on it's own and one that every skin creator will more than likely want to note in their vendor ads.
  15. Suggest you take a good look at this vendor pic - see what it says in the top right?
  16. Ok your comments so far aren't even remotely associated with the subject matter, but I'll reply for the last time anyway. If a product doesn't specify 'BoM' - then clearly BoM isn't included - and regular skin appliers still work perfectly fine as they've always done. BoM is still very new - it should neither be expected nor demanded that every creator have an entire range of BoM skins at your disposal just because it's officially a thing now. When each new bento head is released, do all skin creators instantly have an entire range ready? Are you even aware of how much work goes into creating a skin? It takes time. You'll know if a skin is 'BoM' or not; the vendor ads will say so - that's if people even bother to read the descriptions, that is.
  17. Culprit discovered, problem solved. I wasn't aware that the Baked Mesh thing is now v1.1 - the one I had was v1.0.
  18. @Skell Dagger was even gracious enough to post a pic of what I'm talking about - except his doesn't look quite as grotesque as mine: http://www.virtualbloke.com/archives/3358
  19. Yes ma'am. We checked and double checked all of that until I'm fed up with the whole sorry mess haha
  20. Yes, I've got that already - it's what my skin creator friend made sure I had.
  21. It's not skin creators; they're ahead of the game and ready to go. I think all we're waiting on is a few head creators to get their heads updated. In the meantime, I'm still searching for the answer as to why my system head and genus head are both showing when I try to use bom.
  22. Ok so a skin creator friend and I are sitting here - she's happily playing with BoM and it works beautifully for her. So then I decide to give it a go ... but what I end up with is two heads with what can only be described as a giant mop of 'nappy brown gorilla hair' on top of the lot (system head + Genus head). No, I'm not wearing a single alpha. Yes, I'm using the latest up-to-date FS viewer. Yes, I pressed the Maitreya BOM thing - the body side of things works just fine. Yes, the Genus omega installer thingy is installed. So it's just the head, which is the stuff of nightmares to look at atm. Ah well, I guess it is halloween, after all.
  23. For what it's worth, I love the Legacy Meshbody. Everything just works beautifully out of the box and I can't believe I'm saying this, but I've spent far too much time staring at my avi's butt (and I'm not even that way inclined!). Hot damn, they put some serious effort into this thing. The deformers work as intended - Maitreya clothes and shoes work beautifully and holy flying peanut butter! - the texture of the skin straight out of the box just blew me away. It's difficult to imagine going back to Maitreya but you never know. The body reflects the light something amazing - I can only imagine how much more amazing an entire avi would look if Genus (and other) heads did the same. I personally think it's worth 5k. The hours/days/months/years it must have taken to perfect. Has anyone checked out the detail on the hands, fingers and fingernails? The feet? Toes? The curvature of the spine? They've really stepped up the game now; mesh body creators are going to have to work incredibly hard to match Legacy for quality. That's my two cents worth (now that the piggy bank is empty...)
  24. @Beth Macbain hahaha That's so hilarious and so tragic at the same time ♥
  25. lol But how cool would that be - rl neighbours in SL? I bet there's some closet residents out there....
