  1. Yeah, that's not too bad. You really notice it at concerts though. Atm I'm on 30k complexity and 1760mb script count (that would be a bit lower but DOUX hair doesn't allow you to delete scripts (Stealthic and Truth do). More often than not I'm between 20k-26k complexity.
  2. Try on your different bodies with exactly the same clothes - grab a script counter - and see how low you can go with Legacy. I couldn't get the script count down below the recommended 3mb for attending concerts, which was annoying - but with Maitreya it's a breeze. Clothes made for Legacy also tend to have high L.I. and in general don't include delete script options - except for Blueberry, who does go the extra mile and give that option. In general, I found all things Legacy to really contribute to lag pollution.
  3. There's nothing more beautiful than Legacy for photography but I felt so guilty contributing to 'lag pollution' that I honestly went back to wearing Maitreya full time.
  4. Now listen here, missy...buying something in good faith is not being stupid, ok? And no, I haven't had any problems with it, either - I only stopped wearing it because it has twice the complexity of Maitreya and far too many scripts.
  5. I hear you, but please don't blame yourself for someone else's unprofessional business practices, ok?
  6. I think he's just frustrated. Kind of understandable, if others' past experiences with TMP is anything to go by.
  7. And I merely suggested if he's that upset about it, he might want to ask a lawyer who is or isn't responsible for passing the buck. I haven't a clue what a Nordstrom's is but it sounds painful...
  8. Nah, I'm just not in a lather over it - I'd merely suggested that the previous poster might want to look into it if they were losing sleep over the issue. I've seen those 'cracks' before - no idea what causes them but yes, they do indeed appear whether you're at ground level or higher so if that's the official excuse being used, then they'll have to excuse me for not buying it - just like, "it's your windlight causing the neck issue". The reason the body is so beautifully smooth is because the creator went stir crazy with polygons - they also went overboard with scripts - there's more scripts in that body than an entire collection of Shakespearean plays; the whole thing isn't even remotely 'lag friendly'. It's ok for a photo session, but that's about it, imo. Not familiar with the forbidden site you mentioned, so can't comment on the story.
  9. What's written in a TOS isn't worth the paper it's printed on if a court finds a business negligent in their duty of care - no matter how much said business would like to wash their hands of all responsibility.
  10. Is there someone new at LL's helm promoting a 'couldn't-give-a-toss-so-bend-over-and-take-it-up-the-Khyber-Pass' attitude these days? It's always been my understanding that when people pay you money for a service (including a platform), it legally binds you to a duty of care. I could be mistaken, but I never knew "too bad, so sad, keep flying that kite" to be an acceptable defense in any court of law, but if it's steaming your veggies quite that much, then it might be worth asking a barrister /lawyer just to get an official stance on the issue. Aside from the neck issue (scarves, chunky necklaces, turtlenecks etc to hide it) there's really no need for customer service given that - quite frankly - everything does tend to work out of the box. I apologize if this is a daft question, but did you add the deformers (upper, lower and feet) included in the pack before you put on the non-Legacy clothes? They do work beautifully, but they don't necessarily work instantly - it can take several seconds before they wake up and realize they're 'on duty'. Unable to answer your question about tattoos though, but have you tried asking in the Legacy Lovers group chat?
  11. Good questions. I hope Maitreya doesn't give up, because I feel sure that someone with a sense of decency and responsibility towards their customers could do better.
  12. @Cyanide Pixie I hear you. It's definitely not easy going back to Maitreya, but I don't feel so bad knowing that it costs half the complexity and scripting that Legacy hoards. Still, it does kinda feel like you're downgrading from first class to economy haha
  13. @Cyanide Pixie I'm so very glad it's working out for you! No, I didn't bother with the neck thingy after a friend demonstrated exactly how very much it didn't help, so I'm back to Maitreya for now, but mostly because of Maitreya's 50% less complexity and far less scripting. While I still maintain that Legacy is the most beautiful body in SL - despite coming at at a price beyond L$'s - for now, their distasteful handling of issues in group chat has lost them my respect. Customers are not uneducated idiots (for the most part).
  14. I've had the body for a little while now and was in the cheerleaders camp from the moment I dropped my 5k into their piggy bank, but have since cooled off somewhat. I'd never say it's a scam - anyone who's actually worn the body can see the detail that's gone into it - but what I will say is this: It comes at a higher cost than just L$. There is a neck issue, to which a certain 'CSR' (who would have been fired in the real world for her odious, officious and obnoxiously condescending treatment of customers) shrieks like a banshee, "No there isn't! No there isn't! It's your WL! It's your WL!" More than a couple creators have explained to me that Legacy materials are cranked up to the max and that all they can do is try to turn it down as far as they can, because they don't have the option of turning it off - and that that is what's causing the neck issue. Makes far more sense to me than trying to blame customer windlight settings - especially since the issue doesn't occur with any other mesh body. A little honesty goes a long way towards building customer trust and respect. Fault - Legacy. As a massive consumer of skins (and having come to know some of SL's best skin creators), I put it to Legacy that thanks to their official handling of the neck issue in their group chat, skin creators are being blamed and attacked for a fault that has nothing to do with them. Complexity. This is why Legacy looks far more detailed, smooth and polished than any other body - because it comes at a very high price: SL's general health and performance. It has more pollywaffles than the local lolly shop. No matter what I wear or don't wear, it's nearly impossible to get my script count below 3mb, which means when attending concerts - if I don't want to contribute to lag - I'll go with Maitreya instead. Legacy's complexity is double Maitreya's and unlike LeLutka heads and other items, you can't simply make a copy of it and then delete the scripts. Legacy clothing doesn't tend to come with 'del script' options either (Blueberry's does) and they, too, often come with high complexity. BOM skins help a little in reducing the nonsense, but not enough when it comes to Legacy. In my opinion, those two issues - materials and complexity - are the 'dirty side' of Legacy, so next time you hear your WL being blamed for Legacy's neck issue, I'd be inclined to think again.
  15. @MysteryXstarX I wouldn't get myself in a tizzy over it - take it as a compliment, instead
  16. Sorry, yes - I can use DoF on that little halfway point between High and Ultra, but the shadows are still gunky. "BTW I have a nvidia gtx 970 card"...............BTW - I hate you
  17. BD is brilliant - it's just minus all the bits I love FS for. Ultra - and therefore ambient occlusion - is a requirement for DoF; something I use a lot - but more for sim photography than vendor pics. although I did use DoF a day or so ago for that. Thing is, why have shadows turned sour now when I've used these settings without any problems up until now? And if it's just my laptop, then why is the same thing occurring with a friend in Sweden who has a beast of a machine (compared to mine) with a graphics card I can only dream about (compared to mine)? Something seems to have changed but I don't know what; some have said "it's the whole EEP mess" - I know nothing about how that would work - I barely have a grasp on EEP in the first place - but at this point, it seems as good a thing as any to blame.
  18. Hmmm....let me log in and check that - thanks for the tip! Edit: it was already ticked - but ty for the suggestion.
  19. This one is perfect and what we haven't been able to achieve lately. Wish I knew what's going on, but there are other ways around it. Thank you for sharing Angelina ♥
  20. @Angelina String Yes, I agree. As already mentioned though, the WL I used for the photos above was only to clearly demonstrate the problem. Your photos above are another but more typical example of the problem we've been having; you see how the shadows - particularly on your avi's forehead - aren't clearly defined, but rough and jagged? That's what we haven't been able to clear up using the shadow res, clarity, blur, etc etc etc sliders Phototool's Light tab.
  21. @Chic Aeon I do regularly change windlights and fiddle with sliders - this WL was simply used to give a more obvious example of what I'm talking about for the benefit of the post. Very familiar with the Light settings tab for shadow res and clarity since I've used most of those sliders on a regular basis, but in this situation, they're entirely ineffective and I don't understand why. Would be so easy to blame myself for being entirely dense despite 2 years of professional VR photography, except the same situation has begun occurring for my friend with the more powerful machine and much newer graphics card. I guess it'll remain an unsolved mystery.
  22. @Chic Aeon Yours looks good, but the issue we're having is with shadows on the face - dappled sunlight kind of shadows. Just tried to re-create the issue since my friend still hasn't logged in yet. First image is with ultra settings, second is halfway point between high and ultra - both using Satomi's 2018 Morning Selfie wl (no filter): Playing with the shadow res/clarity/blur/soften, etc etc doesn't appear to touch the shadows anymore - they show up rough and remain rough. The eyes seem to go weird, although I think that's possibly just the wl used on ultra (Satomi's 2018 Morning Selfie) - some do, some don't. It's what's happening with the shadows that's perplexing; I would have put it down to my laptop being old (4 years, NVIDIA GTX 820M, which is no longer supported) except that my Swedish friend with a far better machine and newer graphics card was having the same issue.
  23. @Resi Pfeffer Thank you, Resi. It seems ok for me atm - I can fudge things a bit if need be but my friend was having a worse time of it. In any event, I think she'll check this thread when she logs in (I need to log out now) so hopefully she'll be able to post the full sized photos that demonstrated what the problem is.
  24. Saved to disk. Yes, as mentioned in my original post, this was despite messing about with the light tab (shadow sharpness, etc) in phototools.
