  1. I think you still can try to send the flickrmail, maybe at least to get explanation why you are banned. Well, I would not be really surprised if you will never get answer ... but at least you can try. Anyways - point of view from the other side - I was member of the group back at 2012 or so and I was there for few years, then I stopped to feel comfortable with the "you give us unlimited rights" rule, so I left, but i didn't remove my pictures from the group pool. I don't remember when I left but it must be years ago. And last year one of mine old pictures was used as headline pic for Marketplace. It was landscape picture of beach, LL added red price tags to the shown objects (stones, waves ...) and some advertising text. I felt it as "punisment" for ever being member of the group and it made me even more sure I dont wan't to participate on "community advertisings" anymore ... My point is, you didn't have a choice, you were removed and banned, but not everyone see as honor to have their work used as LL advertising ...it was not fair to you, but maybe is not so bad to be out...? Esp. when you dont like how LL treat you about that, do you really want to give them your work to use it for free...? (Those are more rhetorical questions, its my personal approach, I know thats not general and doesn't work for everyone.)
  2. Thats not clearly said like that. Non-Pro should not link their marketplace (aka "shopping carts links"), thats correct. But there is said nothing about restriction of logos in pictures etc. Esp. if the picture is not clearly "vendore picture" showing only the dress (the product) but when its there entire scene, for the instance dancing avatars in the club - I'm not lawyer or anyhting, but I beleive to add logo of brand who made their dresses or to add logo of the club doesn't collide directly with the restiction for non-Pro. "If you have a free account and don’t have a Flickr Pro account, you may not link directly to a shopping cart, checkout page, or pricing pages on other sites, and you may not list prices on your Flickr photo descriptions." https://www.flickr.com/help/guidelines I beleive the restriction should be seen as "don't use Flickr as your e-shop to sell products directly from there" and you pushed it a little too far in extreme. There is not said non-Pro aren't allowed to add links to blogs or other pages. As long as the blog itself does NOT contain the prices or shopping carts, its not restricted. -------- (And OP talked about rules of the SL group, not about general Flickr rules BTW.)
  3. I agree, there is great grey area also between safe and moderate and the guidlines doesn't help at all. I remember when male blogger got set his account as "moderate" while there was no nudity at all. No official explanation of course, so they put "unofficially" together it was for picture of him topless and wearing jeans with low waiste - when it shows "too much" bodyhair in this area, its probably supposed to be "moderate". I would never guess that ....
  4. Yes, to comment DOF, while they were talking about bans ...it had nothing to do with that. People can like it or not, but its never reason for ban.
  5. I mean "content type". You are right its "photo" not "photography". But there is more than the 3 you mentioned, probably depends on platform/app used to acess Flickr. I see those 3 in Win/web Uploader for my own pictures and more of them I see as group admin in the group settings (on same platform) - so I guess if I got more in the group, users must have option to set them somehow, even when I don't have it myself in my Uploader. Not sure what you mean as "key word", I don't have such a thing in Win Uploader. If you mean "tags" - they became messed up when Yahoo added broken auto-tags, so I'm not sure if or how much they are really used today. But this is already off topic.
  6. We don't talk in general about what is or is not art - it doens't have place here at all. We talk about Flickr settings for "content tab" - its why I wrote it "art" and not art without " ". I'm pretty sure Flickr doesn't have any rules about your own meshes in High Fidelity to allow use "image", "art" or "illustration", "arwork" or others in the content tab of uploaded content. And my point was - as long as I understood how Flickr works, really doesn't matter if you set your work as "art", "artwork", "image" or whatever, because as long as it not set as "photography", its removed from default searching - so as I said, it gives the RL photographers easy tool how not to see anything non-RL. And its what we should to do for them with respect to non-SL Flickr users.
  7. "We just wanted to let you know that we've updated our rules for the Second Life Official Flickr group. " OP said she was banned years ago. Do you know what rules were in the group when she was banned? I don't. So I don't dare to say they were clear as they are today. Some people tend to judge others too fast ... if someone says they don't know why they got ban, they aren't probably aware they did something against the rules. Doesn't mean they didn't read them. 2/ "Screenshots" aren't the only correct "content type". Most SL photographers takes screenshots and then edit them. Once someone worked on it in Photoshop for 8 hours and mixed the original screenshot with virtual painting and other techniques, thats not "screenshot" anymore = not ALL SL pics are screenshots. They can be "art", "images" etc. Speaking about the oficial SL group, they allow all that content types: Accepted content types: Photos, Images, Art, Screenshots Some people prefer to call it "photography" as shortcut for "virtual photography" or "in-game photography". Its probably why they set it as "photography" in the content tab. And its why they call themselves "photographers" when they don't make RL photography at all. Just because you personaly don't like it - as you mentioned in other thread - its not automatically incorrect. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/In-game_photography -------------------- (But I agree content type "photography" should not be used, because it makes RL photographers on Flickr upset - as we can read on Flickr Help forum - because they have no interest to see other content than RL photos and they need way how to block non-RL pictures in searching. SL community should be more respectful and allow non-SL users to have this option by chosing "photography" in searching filters.)
  8. I have no "technical" recommendation, but what I personaly use when something is stuck grey or not rezzing is to lower graphics settings, turn off lights and shadows (if you use them) and this way I let it all rez, then I set back ultra. Sometimes its even enough just to restrict shadows for while.
  9. I fully agree everyone should be told why they were banned IF its not clear from the rules of the group. If they are not told and rules doesn't make it clear, thas not good admin's work behind. But I see some misunderstandings in this thread as well. I beleive Flickr doesn't have tool to ban specific pictures (they can be removed from group pools or don't accepted there, but not banned), so when someone gets ban, its for their entire account. If they weren't told why they got the ban, they can't say "it was because of this picture" - so I beleive OP was not banned for the picture she posted here. (I dare to guess the picture is new and she got the ban years ago - so all the comments about the swimwear on the picture doens't seems to be fitting the situation.) I went randomly through OP's Flickr photostream and despite fact I didn't check all pictures I found one with full nudity, but set as "safe". Thats incorrect setting against Flickr community guidelines. The picture is couple of years old. Maybe its single mistake and all other pictures are set correctly, I didnt check them too many, so idk. But maybe years ago happened that the wrong setting cause the ban. So maybe you can re-check your photostream, set it all correctly (if there is more incorrect settings) and then send flickrmail to admin of the group and ask for review? If the admin's account is shared between Lindens, the person who ban you years ago is maybe even not there and other admin can have different approach.
  10. I'm not sure, but maybe Olive?
  11. I used it for years, so I can say its better for machinimas if you can handle the way how it take control over camera and changes its behaviour. I used it for pictures only because at times I didnt find anything better, but the camera changes weren't easy to handle and at some point of taking avatar's photography they were more unwelcome than useful. I can recommend you other HUD. Sadly during years many people asked about it and its price on MP grew up (when I started to use it it was - I think - for 50L, todays price is 250L, I guess it's partly "my fault" ...). I don't want to make direct advertising, so I'm not posting direct MP link here, please try to search on MP "cinema screen HUD". If you will not find it, write me IM inworld, I will give you the link there. (Or find my Flickr, I give credit for the HUD in description of each my picture, so you can copy paste name of the creator from there). The HUD is easy to use, makes only the frame on the screen, doesn't affect camera any way. If it's what you are looking for, it's still worth the price. ------------- Same for anyone, if you will be looking for cinematic HUDs, please don't buy the stolen version of Couchou HUD ...it's cheaper, but thats not right + it's not easy to use it.
  12. This one https://gyazo.com/cdde0303982ab5c4705e7a4193dd70c9 was stolen from Aida Ewing / Glam Affair skins https://www.flickr.com/photos/aidaewing/30090885641/in/dateposted/
  13. You are right: https://www.flickr.com/photos/grazia-horwitz/16936053925/in/dateposted/
  14. I dont think that "hide HUDs" in viewer can work for me, because my work (see on Flickr) is based on use of cinematic HUD. I keep that setings as "visible" and then I hide others HUDs manually. Its not comfortable, esp. not when I use HUD to pose my avatar, but its doable and the discomfort is matter of habit. I'm not sure for 100%, because as said, I dont use built-it snapshot button, but I beleive the use of cinematic HUDs in some cases (surely with mine - taraFAB Cinema Screen HUD) prevents to use the bigger sizes of snapshot as well - if some photographer will try it, maybe will find out this limitation. (In other words, if you can't save your default snapshot in bigger size and you are using any type of cinematic HUD, try to detach the HUD - if it will work, its because of the HUD limitation, its not "broken", not bug of the viewer).
  15. But whole point of my post was - why I should want to have bigger pictures, for what purpose? To show them as small prieview on my blog and Flickr? Do they need to be bigger ... not to be show in original size at all? (I don't know if its technically possible, and if I would make it work this way, but I have no need to try - for the reasons I wrote above). ReShade is not commonly used when someone need HQ pictures as "technical documentation of meshes / objects / textures shown inworld". And hobby photography - the way I show it on websites - has no use for bigger files. So why?
  16. I would be careful to talk about size. Above you mentioned ReShade, I work with that for years (I beleive I inspired other photographers in community for that too), and it makes our work size-limited. With ReShade we can't use the snapshot button in the viewer, we are forced to take external screenshots - means to hide HUDs and viewer UI and to make classic snapshot - limited by size of the used resolution of display. (And we are usually forced to crop out top Firestorm menu, because it stays visible even with "hidden UI".) It means we speak about relatively small sizes, I currently use 2560*1340, until last year I had older display, my pictures were 1920*1100. You also mentioned John, I guess he has display with limit 3800max. We cant reach 4-6K sizes with ReShade. (At least not as mere mortals who don't have 5K or 7K monitors). I don't think its obstacle for "hobby photographers". As long as the pictures aren't printed in RL, as long as they are displayed on Flickr, blogs and other websites, most people never see the original size, because they are comfortable to see smaller previews shown as default and never click on zoom to see the original. And even with our smaller sizes, then don't see the originals at all. If you don't plan other use than this, smaller pictures are perfectly fine. You are right, if your goal is to show the inworld stuff (to show objects /meshes - for the instance - because you are creator and want to show them in RL or something like that). Then you need the big resolution. But this thread is about the photography itself, not about "technical screenshots of inworld object", we talk with focus on different goal. ReShade user's pictures are "technicaly worse and smaller", but does it matter for the purpose as we use them? I don't think so. So please lets not make new photographers confused that size does matter. It does - if we talk about size of coffee you need to drink to practice your skills. Not to just talk, but to proove visualy - if you are interested take a lot look on my small-pictures-Flickr https://www.flickr.com/photos/loverdag/
  17. Im not OP, but I got the house too, its Trompe Loeil - Xaviera Villa https://www.flickr.com/photos/trompeloeilsl/28557636890/in/dateposted/
  18. Call me "naive elf", but I originally didn't get whats exacly going on... I saw it later on Flickr ..... And I agree, when I said "doable" I didn't meant it can't be touched by the issue - what we can do is - in the best case - to do compromises between what we want and what is possible. Same it would be if you would take more "control over the background" in your own hands by renting/bulding photo studio - today its easier than before, thanks to popularity of mesh backdrops. Not all of them are hard-to-get rare gachas or expensive and there are plenty to choose from. So its much easier to build/change scenes and to control what background you want. Idk if it still exist, but there was sim for photographers with many backdrops from different creators free to use, sorted to floors by themes - but it was not adult sim, so it wasn't for nsfw. Anyways it was good as "showroom" if you would want to see and chose what you like to buy for own studio. (I'm not big fun of backdrops and I don't use them often myself, but it depends on style, they can be pretty useful.) But again - it would be compromise, I'm aware you said you spend time on the beach, this would force you to change your "modus operandi". Anyways if you would be interested and would not find the sim yourself, feel free to poke me via flickrmail, I beleive I have it bookmarked somewhere.
  19. Thank you for the explanation, now makes sense why the categories are like that. So lets hope it won't stay on half way to "new hierarchy system" forever. To finish it would really make MP experience easier for both sides, merchants and customers as well.
  20. To turn off those layers is technical solution, but I'm affraid it doesn't solve much for ppl with some artistic intent - the appliers - tattoos, scars, blood and other appliers - are very often worn for the purpose of making pictures with them. But maybe it can work for at least for Ayela and others with similar focus - if the intent is to show the nsfw gymnastics and the "body decor" is not so important. But thats still annoying I guess. Edit - I don't think I wrote it as I wanted, so I will add this - always depends on the goal, the story what the picture should say. If the goal is to show erotisicsm, even with passion and emotions included, it doens't directly depend on tattoos and its perfectly doable with models with no tattoos (on artistic level as well). But some specific ideas aren't doable without appliers - they are one of the tools what many photographers use to reach their goals, the "stories" they wanted to tell.
  21. I speak from costomers point of view, not as merchant - and I always wonder about fantasy components and its listing, it took me while to find all the categories. Components worn on head - hats, hair, mask are under Avatars Accessories. But Horns are under Components / Cosmetics? Components worn on body are also separate - Wings are under Avatars Accessories, but tails, hooves and more are under Components / Cosmetics. Would be much easier to find (or for merchants to list) all that fantasy "body pieces" in one category. I'm sure there must be also sets, for the instance "demon set" - wings, tail + horns. No idea where I would put the set as merchant in the current situation. Would be nice to find it all under Accessories OR Components listed in separate subcategories + sets in the main category above.

    Hide UI Firestorm

I hide UI daily for years. Ctlr Alt F1 worked for me always, in older versions and in the current one as well. To keep developers menu open before you hit the keys makes no difference. (But the menu will be closed in the moment when you hide UI, so not I'm sure what is point of keeping it open when you are about to hide UI...or did I miss something?) But there is issue with top bar - sometimes it stays visible, no matter how many times you try to hide it. (I don't mind, I just crop it out from the screenshots). Anyways when it change weather for you, maybe check the list of shortcuts - if you accidentaly dont press another key as well? http://wiki.phoenixviewer.com/keyboard_shortcuts But its weird, because shortcut for midnight is very different: ctlr + shift + X Oh, you said sunset - but still, thats ctrl+shift+N. Nothing too close to ctls alt f1.
  23. But I can at lest share screenshots from Black Dragon viewer to show what I was talkign about. Raw screenshots (=no edit, no Reshade) 1/ NO DOF, we can see the "alpha&alpha issue" in its full glory 2/ "classic DOF" (same we have in Firestorm as well 3/ The optional DOF in BD As I said earlier it doesn't solve the issue, but it helps to make it nicer. (And you can pretend it was "artistic intention"). But I would really recommend just to avoid those situations, not to use background like this. Derendering is very useful, if its not possible to take the picture on another spot. And this is the magical check box in the BD machinima sidebar - "include alphas into depth".
  24. Would be nice if someone with better english and better knowledge of SL viewers terminology make the request, I personaly lack both the skills and don't feel like to start the adventure.
