  1. I LOVE my camper in Bellisseria and my partner loves his Houseboat ⛵️ We did not play Game of Homes for them. We each took the first place we were awarded and we each happen to love what we got. We have lived in Bellisseria since April 15, 2019 and waited anxiously for it to appear from the time we first suspected what the SSP Regions were for when we spotted them above our land on Corsica and Gaeta V. We have loved it ever since we knew it would be a sailing place… We love it so much that we used it as a model for our dream when we decided to revitalize some Abandoned Land on Mainland. It is an homage to Bellisseria, not a competition 🥰. I also feel that LL has been surprised by what Residents have shown they can do with that intended Starter Community. It has evolved into what each of us wants it to be, or we move on. It is the Crown Jewels of Second Life, made by them for us and us for them. ❤️👍
  2. In our operation, 3.75 Regions of tier requires 135 rental units in Campbell Coast at $L1/LI/week to pay the cost of tier. Any extra will be put toward the acquisition of more Abandoned Land which will be designed accordingly. It is designed based on all our favourite things about Bellisseria and includes development surrounding pre-existing homeowners who use banlines and security orbs and many who also choose (or have since chosen) to blend in with the landscaping we chose. It is up to each Resident to decide if they want to live there or not, if they want to blend in or not, sell or buy or trade lots, it is up to them to get along and up to us to cope with their bad decisions and good decisions, just like RL. I don’t depend on LL to help me make it profitable or successful but I certainly appreciate their consideration of our needs and desires when we file Support Tickets. Sometimes our requests are granted and sometimes they are denied… just like RL. It is up to Campbell Coast to succeed or fail based on the the community which forms there or doesn’t. If we start making a lot of rules we must start enforcing those rules and that means people will not use common sense or take responsibility for their own behaviour and that will also be up to everyone in Campbell Coast to decide because I have no time to waste on things which aren’t important to me. Campbell Coast will constantly evolve and change and people will like it or not… too many not liking means it needs to evolve, or get chalked up to a hard lesson learned and returned to Governor Linden’s care as Abandoned Land. I hope a thousand competitors will do a better job than me because WOW, Mainland will be a thousand times more vital and valuable ♥️
  3. Bellisseria is an entry level or retirement form of free housing for Premium Members. It is not a replacement of Mainland. This has never changed. Do you want them to stop making Bellisseria and fix up some Mainland? Just ask. Ask in Live chat and report their response then gather your supporters or sigh and Carry On enjoying what you do enjoy 🌼 That is what you can do because no one can turn back time or displace 4,500 Regions of land without some serious consequences… far too many consequences for me or even HAL9000 to even contemplate. 🌼 😉
  4. If you offer to pay someone to count them, perhaps someone will… or maybe it’s not really that important in the bigger picture? Or just present the suggestion for change or preservation you have in mind and leave it to LL to ask for more information about how your idea could be implemented if they believe it is a good thing for the future of SL. LL has already proven they DO listen. When their plan to reduce Basic Membership from/to 45 Groups was met with protest, they announced they reconsidered because that feature was very important to a large amount of users and went to work on another way and are still working on it… why is Group chat running sporadically? Perhaps because they are still working on a way to keep Basic membership’s number of Groups… or perhaps it has nothing to do with that at all but I know they are working on it as they complain about it themselves. We don’t know why many things do or don’t happen until we ask why or devote ourselves to finding out. Be kind and respectful and your life will be filled with kindness and respect ☕️🏠🗺 🥳. Happy Canada Day from Canada to the rest of the world! 🍁🇨🇦🍁
  5. Perhaps I am too trusting, but I have no reason not to trust. I cannot enjoy life NOT trusting people. I have had periods of time during my life when I felt I couldn't trust anyone except myself and not always even myself because... well, gravity kind of sneaks up on me at times. Those were the moments I was not enjoying life and the memories I will not mind losing! This is a pleasure, this Second Life and I LOVE it!! I'm old enough to embrace the number of lines a gesture uses are irrelevant when compared to feeling the genuine joy of the person gesturbating like they own the chatbox... GO, GO, GO FOR IT because it is beautiful and that joy is fuel for my tired old brain ♥ I refuse to witter and waste time worrying if the people I pay to do a job are doing it with quantum efficiency. I don't know if my electric meter is calibrated for maximum accuracy either. I will whinge if my bill doubles or my lights go out. I will spend any amount of money required on more efficient appliances, or alterative energy because that may buy time for us to get along a little better with nature before it's pushed into pushing back and we're all drinking recycled black water and turning into ppl soup. When SL is not fun or is too hard for me I have plenty of other ways to enjoy my time and I completely trust that Second Life will be here for me when I can enjoy my time here. This place belongs to us, as the Residents and Creators in the same way that the Earth belongs to all of us. I can buy a chunk of Earth same as a chunk of Mainland in Second Life and neither one is really mine, I didn't make it and it only has value when it is connected to the rest of the Earth. Nature can infect the beautiful Elm tree that has stood on the boulevard in front of my house for 77 years with a horrible disease that marks it for death in a few years and I'm as helpless to do anything to save it as I am in Second Life if LL decides that purple Lemon Trees that poof glitter particles when a script inside them detects movement would be an improvement along the Circuit La Corse from Durdane to Majipoor. I can object and rant that the least they could have done was made them apple trees and if they don't agree or don't care I still trust that they will have made the best decision for Second Life because I'm paying for a tiny percentage of their product and service. They ask me every time we have an interaction for my opinion and feedback and offer another opportunity to plead my case. Another few Lindens might find out how I feel they are performing and possibly that will affect their future performance. That is what I'm paying for or how I earn an income. I'm not compelled or obligated by anyone but myself to continue or to go do something else. So far, we have a perfect relationship. I have no reason to suspect they are not going to support the status quo ad infinitum. I am as respectful of SL as SL is of me. I am completely invested in a long term relationship. I like long sails along beaches with my partner and plenty of peace, love and understanding. ♥´¯`·» ι ℓøøøνє тнίѕ ρℓαςε! «·´¯`♥
  6. Another fabulous reason to enjoy Campbell Coast is the possibility of spotting @Cranston Yordstorm as he travels the Grid collecting Passport Stamps and often leaves from his cabin here. This is his first VLog (Video Blog) of his travels to collect 3 Stamps in Novatron Region (and there's a wonderful treat for everyone after he finds the PIER 7 Stamp!)
  7. @Prokofy Neva http://www.gridsurvey.com/ <--- there's loads of numbers on here. I first found this info in one of @Inara Pey's invaluable blogs. Thank you very much Inara Pey for everything you do making Second Life a little more understandable for Noobs and Oldbies alike ♥♥♥
  8. This thread has some early announcements of numbers of homes and Regions but then the announcements including numbers trailed off, I assume with a very good reason. We probably don't need to know the facts and figures which inevitably lead to Residents obsessing and speculating about how well they are (or are not) doing what we expect or want because... we pay LL to look after those Math-y things for us ♥ @Matthieu Quander (and my abacus broke... so I put all the counters in an odd-shaped jar right here somewhere... dammit)
  9. I think our public land has a few places in Search. I would use it more if I could add some tags and if you could add a landing point. As it is now if I include Artists Village in Search (I think it is) people land in the middle of the Region at ground level which means they will end up trapped under a mesh landform which is invisible from underneath. When this happens to me, I try to look around for something to sit on to get out or open Map and enter an altitude of +50 m and Teleport to it. Imagine being a noob looking for the Artists Village. How can this possibly be of any use to us and our land as it is? The Search brings people to participate in a frustrating experience. Same for Events if there is no forced landing point they will end up stuck under that landform. If we set a forced landing point for Artists Village, visitors will most likely never see the GlastonBelli Event Venue or the Record Barn, or the Ballroom or the airport or the cable car ride or the hang gliders or the Office where all the Info is displayed. I have been in SL 6 years and have never looked at a Classified ad, unless I found one but have no idea what it even looks like and didn’t know it was a classified ad. I’d gladly pay L$30 per Landing Point and per search tag to have those in Search if that was an option. For my own shopping, I find new stores by their chance mention or by asking the owner of something I’m interested in, in local chat in person at a gathering or in a Group like Bellisseria Citizens, or on SeraphimSL, then I Search the Store name inworld or on MP depending how much time I have and whether I need to see the item first or try it on. I have noticed a disturbing trend toward “branding” everything which is extremely frustrating. For example many recognize the symbol the musician Prince “branded” himself with but how do you spell that to Search for it. For any Store owners out there considering how to make reach their market… just spell it and use the letters of the common English alphabet because ..::sToRe::.. may look ever so unusual and stand out, but is hardly rememberable and I will never find your item to wear and advertise my great find in my messy inventory If my new shoes are named ..::sToRe::.. woimuet ultrawobbly cumquatue fat pack (ADD to Unpack) 🌼
  10. Might be a good idea to keep some iodine tablets in that Alt's medicine cabinet? 🤔
  11. This lovely cottage is La Maisonette by HISA, nestled in the Glaston Bailey in Sunstream Region. It's nestled right in the heart of Campbell Coast, simply waiting for someone to call it Home ♥ For only L$200 per week you get 150 LI to furnish this adorable cottage (more LI usually available upon request at L$1/LI/week). There's a rumour that there was once a grand castle with a beautiful Keep gracing this lovely level Bailey... but it seems there's only the Ruins of it left now, unless you are an Explorer at heart and hear the snores of a great beast through the thick hazy evening air or the crackle of a roaring fireplace even though this house has none and you feel compelled to investigate and turn an ordinary mid-week evening into an Adventure!! It has direct access to Circuit La Corse (Protected Road) and a great view of the highest point in Corsica... if your pc can handle it you may be able to see Campbell Airport and the Cable Car ride across the Highway.... and maybe a little bakery will move in to that cute shop up the hill so you won't need to cook breakfast...
  12. I'm not sure of the exact number, but it's well over 5,000 already, probably closer to 20,000 (at least) new Belli homes and I'm pretty sure that @LittleMe Jewell 's numbers for the original needed replacement homes is close, but since then, the number of replacement homes and homes for New Premium Members homes has probably has a pretty dramatic increase since Bellisseria was first announced and everyone was scrambling to grab them and upgrading to Premium just to get one, plus the dramatic rise in daily Users online by around 20,000 per day since the pandemic happened... I think the Moles will be pretty busy for a while yet. Even with Patch's commitment to provide all of the originally planned themes released (or announced) by the end of 2021, there may be even more possible themes needed just to keep abreast of the growing number Premium Member housing requirements. I think that Bellisseria will have to grow a LOT more if the projections for new active accounts in the next 5 - 10 are met and that Bellisseria will be a priority until there are enough homes. That number may continue to grow in bursts ad infinitum and need a full time crew of Moles from now on. Hopefully at some point new Mainland will move up in the list of priorities and the unfinished edges will be completed. Patch will do what is best for Second Life and I completely trust that will mean what is ultimately best for us as Residents. After all is said and done, we are paying LL to provide us with this platform and happy customers are paying customers ♥ Further to that, any successful business operation is a balanced one between happy customers and happy employees. Personally, I have never met an unhappy Linden. I've seen them happy, sad, concerned, firm and always in complete professional control. Everyone has good days and bad days but I certainly believe that there are many more good days than bad days, even when nothing goes as expected in SL. I've not met a Linden who doesn't love their job even among those who have had to leave. Business success for LL will only mean success for Second Life and part of that will mean things evolve. Everything must adapt or be left behind... and that's a very healthy, good thing. ♥
  13. I’dvote that up if you can tell me how to do that (or whatever they call that action that means I want that too) 👍
  14. Looks like a fun place! ..but now I really wonder if "Everybody Knows My Name?" 😘
  15. Yes, but not a very high cost in your situation, only L$77 extra. I think you only needed the extra m2 to acquire the 2048, and only needed it for the time it took to acquire, subdivide and Abandon the extra. To "Buy for Group" the 2048 you only actually need 1843 m2 because the 10% Group bonus is pre-applied. You already have 1500 extra tier so you'd only need to rent 344 m2 for a week (minimum time) 344 m2 x L$0.225 = L$77 per week or (approx) USD $1.44 per month to keep the extra 344 m2 (the entire extra 2048 m2) which is considerably less than tiering up an extra 512 which costs an extra USD $4.00 per month.
  16. I don't understand how that could happen using a tier rental service? You'd only need the extra tier for as long as it took to buy the land, subdivide what you don't need and abandon the extra, then the temporary tier donor can be ejected from your Group and its still all yours ♥ I never usually have much extra tier to donate to anyone else's Group. I can usually find a way to use it 😉
  17. If you have your own Land Group and your current land is deeded to that Group you can do it by using a Tier Rental agency. You pay per week (@L$0.225/m2) and the agency will have someone Join your land Group and donate the tier you need to acquire the land (Buy for Group) for a week and you can then subdivide and abandon any excess and boot the tier agent from your Group. There are some very reputable agencies who provide this service. I think this would have been an ideal solution for any Resident facing your circumstances. There are also agencies which will pay you for any excess tier you are carrying for as long as you want. I recently emailed one agent who has posted a Forum topic about the service in 2018 and they do still provide this service. --->
  18. There are many very interesting points made in this thread. I've learned a lot more just reading this so tyvm @Zoren Manray for posting this topic. In regard to Abandoned Land, every person who contributes actual US Dollars for anything in SL is actually paying part of the cost of keeping all that Abandoned Land online, which I imagine it is a very large expense but it IS contiguous and can't be just shut off. If LL could turn back time I'd hope they would have included a protected public access portion or some sort of road/path/flight route infrastructure through every Region like they have done along the water edged Regions. As there is none, it falls on all of us who contribute financially to bear the cost of keeping all that land. If we want to reduce the cost of tier we can help by improving that wasted resource of Abandoned Land as land groups whose purpose is to make it more appealing to people who are shopping for land. Just looking at the calculations and tables above is financial proof. A land group with a covenant can replace a land Covenant (as on private Estate land) and control certain powers, such as the use of banlines, security orbs, et cetera. SL's current Group structure does need a good overhaul to help land groups with a few issues but a good understanding among responsible Group owners can currently compensate for those drawbacks. Campbell Coast (South coast of Corsica's big island) is comprised of 90% former Abandoned Land and has been experimenting with different ways of sharing/distributing the cost of tier and group-owned land does appear to be the keystone which can support the revitalization of Mainland by acquiring Abandoned Land and improving it en masse.
  19. The Hoot Suite art gallery celebrated the opening of BLUSHOCK by CK @Ceakay Ballyhoo with a wonderful LIVE set by @Joe Paravane and a lovely after-party particle show by @Owl Dragonash CK's affinity for otherworldly exploration and sci-fi roleplay treats both left and right-brain affinities to a taste of the hidden worlds there are to explore in SL ♥ You won't want to miss this experience here for a limited time: http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Ruthsburg/125/206/23

Wow... it's a Hamster!!! https://marketplace.secondlife.com/p/SURPLUS-MOTORS-Hamster-v70/20134715 Doc even parallel parked it when we arrived at Java Sprockets in Puffin Head Region. There's even a rez zone right out front! We enjoyed a great chat with friends old and new in the wonderful Mole-made Cafe near Pamamole Canal. We LOVE SL ♥♥♥
