What you're complaining about is obviously not a copybotting situation. Perhaps, if you explain it with more specificity, people might actually be able to understand what exactly you're going on about. ...Dres
  2. This will probably sound crazy, but If I were faced with solving this sort of dilemma, I wouldn't mess with boxes at all. What I'd do is put the LMs into a main folder with the sub-folders I'd want my friend to receive. Then, I'd set that folder up as a listing on Marketplace for perhaps 1L, at which point, I would go there and buy it for them as a gift. That way, I wouldn't have to mess with scripts (which I'll probably never use again) and I wouldn't have to worry about my friend having to unpack a ton of boxes or waiting for their contents to load. Might be something to consider. ...Dres

I know!!! I will make me a little guy who looks like me so he did. A stumpy wonky little guy who didnt fit in the awesome world. So he made sex for him so he can be happy in his stumpy little wonky godlet body. I mean a lady for him and he made a garden for the little guy and his girlfriend lady but not in the awesome world that he had made. A garden in a private island then the little guy and the lady got wasted on apple juice and done the nawti and God got miffed and chucked them out the garden into the world that wasnt made for them. I think God got miffed when he went: Adam wherefore art thou my faithful little crawler who knows that I am like totally ever everything of your reason for exist ?!?? and Adam muted him bc he was doing the nawti and he dont got any time for any pervy cammer so miffed was God and out they went. The little guy and his gf. In their stumpy wonky little bodys and they done it hard in the awesome world not made for them for ever more ever after bc God said to the little guy and lady that he cant change the world just to suit their stumply little arms or anything really. bc if he change them then they will break his awesome world, and they just do the nawti in it anyways. So there !! + so now there is a new God to rule over us all so far is 2 and 0 first there was Bible God. Who apparently is a Western God. For 1 and 0 and then there was Philip God. Who is a Eastern God. For 2 and 0 now there is Ebbe God. Who is a Northern God. Like a Viking Can the Viking God of the North defeat the Gods of the West and East ?? will the Northern God make the man and the lady first, and then make Valhalla. Or the other way round and be defeated for 3 and 0 (: Beautifully stated, irihappy. But, you forgot to mention Blue Buddha... ...Dres

(I don't disbelieve you, but different set-ups give different results, enquiring minds etc.) I went to the busiest spot I could find, but it didn't seem to make any difference to me. 24 avatars in view and I got around 20fps regardless once the scene settled down. Different set-up, different result. You probably have a much better graphics card than I did at the time. I'm sure the one I've got now can easily handle rendering them, but I'd gotten used to not seeing them so I just left it that way. ...Dres

  14. Zazaaji wrote: Just curious what the majority generally tend to do. Personally I have them set to show like this: Display Name (Username) That's how I have it set as well. I believe that's the default, at least in the viewer I use (Firestorm). I have both enabled simply because both impart useful information. I want to know what an avatar's user name is because that is what makes them truly unique within the SL system. Because anyone can set their display name to anything, we've not the ability to perceive their unique identity by acknowledging display names alone. Nevertheless, they are a useful indication of how an individual wishes their avatar to be addressed. I believe addressing others as they choose to be addressed is the very minimum amount of respect which they deserve. One thing I do though, which is probably different than most, is set my viewer so that the hovering names don't show at all inworld. I started doing that years ago because my old video card had a horrible time rendering them in places with lots of avatars and would cause my viewer to lag, sometimes to the point of crashing. After I updated my card, I saw no point in turning them back on... because I liked not knowing who everyone was at first glance. It just seemed more realistic to me. And besides, I also had it set so that I could get the same information on a one-avatar-at-a-time basis by hovering my cursor over them. ...Dres

No way are you going to make everyone happy. I also doubt very seriously that removal of the confederate flag is going to fix anything, in fact - its making it worse..... I don't get it. Are you suggesting that the reason you fought for this country was so that state governments could continue flying a treasonous, racist flag in public spaces? It's as if whole swaths of idiots honestly believe that the removal of such contentious imagery from public sites and the inventory of a few, private companies induces their disenfranchisement... it most certainly does not. ...Dres

People can't be held responsible for something they didn't know was wrong, as long as they couldn't know it was wrong. In other words, the entirety of southern white slave owners are entirely innocent of the atrocities they've committed. Lovely. ...Dres

If we're talking sheer numbers, many more people were and are affected by racism and slavery than there are by genocide. Unfortunately, racism is widely spread throughout history and throughout the world, and (again unfortunately) can be considered quite normal. It's embedded in human nature, based on a healthy fear of the unknown. It is a big leap from "we are not equal" to " you are a pest to society and you need to be exterminated" Certainly not the same ideology. Are you suggesting that no black person has ever been killed in the name of white supremacy? Because, that would be the only case in which your point would have any validity whatsoever. ...Dres
