  2. LaskyaClaren wrote: If by that term you mean the medieval ideals associated with the cult of courtly love some 600 or more years ago, well, yes, it's very much dead. Along with other such charming relics of that bygone age as feudalism, witch burnings, and the Black Plague. Do you mean the highly-romanticized (and historically inaccurate) resuscitated neo-gothic version of the 19th and 20th centuries? The one built upon entirely unrealistic expectations about the relations between men of a certain socio-economic status, and the women of their peer group? Well . . . mostly the class to which that applied (a gentrified middle class with pretensions and aristocracy) are dead and gone now too. . Or by chivalry do you mean basic courtesy, politeness, and kindness? I don't think that THAT is dead at all. In fact, I like to think that I practice it! Am I allowed to be chivalrous if I am (just) a woman? And an oversensitive feminist too? Yes, that's what I mean, Lassie. And no, you are not allowed. . . because of the reason you gave.
  3. Vulpinus, thank you for your contribution. I share similar sentiment; it was a pleasure to read such words.
  4. Do the female forum participants desire a chivalrous man aka a gentleman? Does/can chivalry exist in SL? Has the RL behaviour of the absurdly hypersensitive feminist undermine the SL gentleman?. Isn't it the feminists’ job to defeat anti-female stereotypes rather than validate them? What do you say?

PS Donning a green jacket almost rivals the prestige associated with drinking from the claret jug. I love both tournaments. I think you meant to say Rose instead of Woods, didn't you? I am looking for a three-way tie between Speith, Rose and Lefty myself. With Rose pulling it out on the second playoff hole. The pure beauty of the game is that this^^ may very well be the final result. Enjoy watching, Derek.

  8. . . . is surprised many forumites haven't posted more rose-tinted imagery. I can only assume they are in denial.

  10. I always wondered what if Linden Lab changed their name to Linden Labs. Would anybody notice? Would anybody care?
  11. Dillon Levenque wrote: Let's not.... you can try filing AR's everytime... That should alert the Lab, pronto. Hi Dillon To me, playing SL, posting to the forum, and even in RL there just has to be more than filing AR's or RIC's or telling the teacher or the pastor of the church that someone has sinned. When do we stop getting people in trouble because of ill perceived (or imagined is the word you used) wrongdoings? Life is more than always tattling. Imo.
  12. I laughed. People have been writing rules and regulations since the beginning of human social interaction. You can't please everybody, but some try. PS As for me, I write my own rules. Kinda like everyone else I have met on the Internet.

Most of the cognoscenti also recognise people who don't engage their brains before typing replies. Last names for new residents were discarded years ago so Feelynx Lavender could not be a brand new alt. In fact, she started in SL in 2010. Perhaps you should read her profile. Long Time Trolls vs Long Time players FIFY. Let the games begin! Nyl, I read the OP the same way. So Liazarus may have omitted a word; perhaps it should have read as 'brand new posting alt' - but to me it was implied. Every other word Liazarus wrote was spot on, and understood -- unlike the OP. And that's my response to the OP as well.
  14. Artur Trill wrote: Why are you asking if I am serious? Mapping is creation of worlds/buildings/architecture in other games like Crysis, Half Life 2/Source and so on. You mean "are you serious" is all you took from my post? I thought I answered your question.

I acquired many skills such as: Programming (Java, C#, PHP, JS etc..), 3D Modelling (3D Studio Max), Drawing (Photoshop), Mapping (various game engines), So I am wondering, now these days - is it still possible to make money on content creation? I would love to give it a try, if it's possible - any suggestions/tips? All these newly acquired skills and you want to earn money creating content in SL? Are you serious? I'm not even sure what Mapping is or why it is capitalized, but the skill must allow you to earn more than making pixel t-shirts or garnering tips from a good build.

  17. And you made no mention of pork (bacon) or pork belly (sublime bacon,) either. Tsk.

Severe lag can also affect the timing of the online/offline indicator, both for your friends and for people in groups, but twenty five minutes is a hell of a lot of lag. And finally, I've found the online/offline indicator is sometimes just plain wrong. If this is stressing you greatly, log off and go for a run or eat some chocolate ice-cream. Just don't do both at the same time. You are such a good helper, Madelaine. It's no wonder you have a helper pin. Maybe one day I will earn one too.

I checked other groups they all said offline??? so my question is why did this one group take 25 mins for them to say their offline? is it because that was the tag they was wearing if he had ticked the box and signed out to make out he was going? why would one group lag 25mins to register? I know he may read this but its killing me and better than comfronting feeling like this. please help I don't know what to do. Your post is chock-full of goodies, but first things first. I just love the neologism "comfronting" it's a cross between comforting and confronting. I say comfort, as a little head can go a long way. . . if you know what I mean.

Fresh, everything is fresh. He has no fear of searching for the perfect recipe for a perfect diner. He knows how to select, taste, and pour the wine, too. A real man knows.

I love gummy bears. I, too, can eat them by the cupful (but I don't.) I especially like the red ones YUMMY. I don't saw them though, but I do bite their heads off then their little legs, and then I gobble all the bellies in one mouthful. Do you like raisonettes?
