  1. The SL Social Casino isn't exactly setting attendance records since it opened. Traffic today was about 3065. By comparison, the Linden Realm Portals were about 7500 and 9300 (two identical Portal regions) or 16,800 total. You can earn Lindens in those games. Fogbound Blues traffic was 90,000. All measured within a 5 min window. Maybe they need some DJ's at the casino?
  2. What Avakin does is not a social casino. There is a difference between a social game and a social casino. Social casino's cannot offer anything of value for their coins/chips/tokens. You need to re-read the articles you posted earlier. Providing work-around "prizes" is not the main feature of a social casino, and is not the reason why players are addicted and spend real dollars to keep playing. The SL social casino is simply a "pure" version of a social casino. If they start offering perks to win, it might increase traffic but will not affect the addicts. If the perks (which must have no value) increase the purchasing of chips from lindens, maybe LL will do that - opening themselves up to legal challenges. How many "bears" can they offer? Once they run out of new (no transfer/ no sale) prizes, what is the incentive even for a bear collector? You have me confused with someone else again. I have never justified LL's gatcha policy, and wish they would return. Exactly the opposite of what you "accuse" me of. I do like the new schemes where you can see what you buy before you buy it, and have found some real bargains from those systems from the best designers. I am not cheering on LL's social casino - it seems like the same scheme the other online social casinos are using. I provided a video of how damaging these can be to a gambling addict. How is that cheering on LL's version? Again, you got everything backwards.
  3. Here's Greg, my poor freeloader alt, wondering when he can afford a gated home in Bellisseria. Isn't he cool? Don't exile him to the Moocher Life grid!
  4. You have obviously not read all of my posts in the two social casino topics here in General Discussion. LL provides 120 chips/day in addition to the initial 500. Those daily chips stack. TP to the the social casino for 10 secs every day, and you will have 840 free chips in one week. It's not that difficult: http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Helios Casino/78/121/23 Avakin Life is not a social casino. It is more like Second Life. LL will give you lindens if you play some of the Linden skill games, nothing to do with gambling. Avakin lets you spin for their free avacoins to use to buy game products. Other online social casino's do not pay you for winning their tokens either, the same as the SL social casino. They sometimes invent additional reward tokens or perks, which you are given for playing their games, but different than the game tokens that you win by playing. You can take the reward tokens to another social media site, and enter into a sweepstakes, where you have a chance to win prizes or even cash. It is a fuzzy legal area whether indirect prizes and contests defines social casino winnings as something of value or not. There is no difference between the older established social casino games and LL's social casino games. Both are designed to not fit the definition of gambling, and hence no gambling license or State/Country regulations will affect them.
  5. I've always thought the Premium members were the poor kids on the block, getting a tiny home on a tiny parcel and obeying more rules than my sharkskin landlords has in my rental contract. Premiums only pay about $36 USD/year after the stipend! What cheapskates! Give me a 30K private full region for $239/Mo any day. Premiums pay $36/year and Basics with a 30K private region pay SL $2,668/year.
  6. Worked normally for me. Send in a support ticket if it is still broken for you.
  7. There's no way my alts can afford to be the superior Premium residents. They already demand free lindens from me for doing nothing I can't do. And I would not trust my alts if they were exiled to the Moocher Land grid. Next thing I know, they would be setting up social casinos there and be out of my control !
  8. By no one you mean no Lindens have explained why they joined the 12 year old highly profitable unregulated business of Social Casinos, rather late in the game? Online social casinos exist to make money for the businesses that create them. Gaming companies and gambling companies own most of the social casino space. The same model is used in the SL social casino. Even the bet amounts are comparable to other online social casinos, at least for the mid and high end tables. Does someone in SL think this will create more revenue for SL, with a minimum of effort? The casino is automated and bare bones. Could be that's all there is to it. Will this attract new residents, who may then explore the rest of SL once they run out of chips? I don't see any gateways at the social casino to move around the grid. Will the 3% who are already gambling addicts in SL pay lindens to lose? Apparently so, but they should also have access to the real gambling (excuse me, skilled games) regions on the grid. They can play for lindens and cash out to dollars already. I don't think the active (non bot) population of SL is large enough to make their casino a profit center. About 2% of people who gamble are addicted enough to play a pay to lose game. How many SLer's are gamblers? Can 50 addicted gamblers in SL support this casino? A true addict will spend many hours at the casino every day. I haven't see that yet.
  9. Yes I saw Tasha at the Blackjack table, but was not worried, she seemed lost in card counting. Just the same I hit the cheap slots far away and won an 80X jackpot on a spin. Too bad I was only waging 2 chips/bet. I can outrun a dog any day especially on my hoverboard. SuperCat.
  10. First, they are called chips that you lose and buy in the social casino. I have a brilliant idea! Let's be able to use our chips we made on those jackpots at the casino, in Bellisseria. Since no residents can buy or sell or earn any lindens in Belli, these chips seem like the ideal local currency. Why even the DJ's could put out tip jars that would accept the golden coins chips!
  11. There is no relation between the two. Just the pro and anti gacha crowd wanting to bring up gacha again. Social Casinos claim it is not gambling since there are no payouts for the coins/chips/tokens you buy with real money. It is a loophole to avoid online gambling laws and regulations. Some clever guy from New Jersey started the Online Casino loophole about 12 years ago. It is now a big business, based on the billions that addicts and whales spend to buy the coins. Somewhere around 9% of all players actually spend real money on this game, and that is where the Billions in profits come from. See the YouTube videos in the actual social casino is gambling thread, not this one.
  12. Here's another report about these online social casino's by PBS television. I guess we know why there is a whale area for big spenders in the SL casino. Amazing that this is a growing industry, with Billions in profits now, all from addicts spending real money, or lindens which you buy with real money - with no rewards except the addiction of playing. How much does LL expect to earn from their version of a Social Casino? They did not build this and pay the game designers, with no expectations of profit. Interesting no Lindens have chosen to respond to any of the two Topics about this. I saw one industry report that said about 90% of the revenue from these social casino games is from portable devices/smart phones. Once SL gets their mobile version released, I can see the same high percent of addicts losing real money in SL. And mods, don't try and claim this is off topic because the YouTube videos are not about SL - yet. This is an identical business in SL, just on a startup scale.
  13. Same as busted. Going over 21 with the last card called the bust card, which is an automatic loss. Blowing up was my term, and when you do there is a minor explosion at the bust card on the table.
  14. The ATM machines are not a demo. They work, as in they will take lindens from your account, or if you don't have enough lindens to cover the minimum L$ 799 purchase, will ask you to buy more lindens with an instant buy from your credit card or Paypal. Same as any other linden purchase. Someone in LL thinks residents will pay. SL residents pay for all kinds of useless junk and services. It is not free if you run out of chips, and can't wait until the next day to get your huge 120 free chips. Play a game with 50 chip bets, and you will last about 5 mins before you are broke again. It's not a demo if you pay lindens to lose, and it is in the Linden game region of the grid. Why would SL need to demonstrate they can build a simple casino with two games, no employees, and no drinks. That's been done dozens of times in the past by residents with more games, employees and decor. I don't think there is anything to see in this new venture but what it is. So far all the conversations I have heard in the casino are about what kind of a joke this is, with no rewards or cash to win. Others complain they lost their first 500 in 15 mins, and won't be back after that experience. I have to admit that BlackJack dealer at the cheap tables hit more 20 and 21 without blowing out, than I ever did. If I stand at 19, dealer gets 20, usually two face cards. If I stand at 20, the dealer has an Ace, and turns a Jack for 21. I was lucky to play 3 cards without blowing up busting for the whole session tonight.
  15. Yep, I just gave the region names for those that don't remember when LR was 6 estates of 12 regions/estate that were active, and payout for the quest was 50L$ and you did not need PIOF on file to get paid for the quests, or for converting crystals to lindens. And crystals were plentiful in regions and areas that I seldom see any now with just one estate running. Green crystals are picked up quickly, so if you do not search a region within 5 mins of the refresh, you will not find any. I have found a green crystal behind the village as soon as I started looking, and I have spent 6 hrs looking for one in all 12 regions. There is one place more likely to find a green crystal, so if I need one, that is the first place I look. Not giving any game hints here though. It's hard enough justifying spending any time there as it is.
  16. So, set your skybox orb to 0 seconds, and ban on their 2nd try. Any decent orb can be set to just cover your skybox, or a sphere larger than your skybox, without killing all the air space from sea level to 10,000 meters. I use two orbs for my parcel. One covers the entire parcel to the top, but has a 30 sec warning and then TP's then Home. The one around my skybox platform is set to 1 second. I have not had any skybox visitors for over a year. I get bots visiting my land all the time, but it's an empty beach, so who cares? They still cannot see into my skybox when on my beach. If I know they are a bot, I can send them home and perma ban them. They cannot return, again and again as you think.
  17. LR 187 is the village region in what you are calling the 4th server. You are at 218.5, 226.1, 45.1 in LR 187 located at simhost-00d208a6b50bb4bff.agni SLURL: http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/LR 187/219/226/45 (global coordinates 306,139.0, 309,474.0, 45.1) Second Life Server 2023-04-21.579747 This is the only estate open at this time, and it does have green crystals now. They are just very rare because LL only has one region open, and the refresh rate for green crystals seems to be around every 30 mins. Yes, all crystals are in short supply - at least 1/2 of what it was when there were more estates to distribute the players. Crystal collection is around 12 L per hour now, unless you happen to hit a region that just refreshed the green and blue crystals. And that assumes you are highly experienced in knowing where the crystals are located. I do see some green dots in the village region of LR 167 on occasion. I assume these are Moles and/or Lindens doing something. Maybe they are adding another SL owned casino in the Linden Realms, so you have a place to spend your lindens on non-redeemable chips for the casino. Zero sum game is the goal, with LL the winner.
  18. Casino is getting crowded, 15 there Friday evening in the US. Here is my social interaction there: [16:27:11] Ƭ: hello? [16:27:19] Ƭ: how exchange the chips to lindens? [16:27:48] (You): you can not [16:27:55] Ƭ: and why we pay? [16:27:57] Ƭ: haha [16:28:08] Ƭ: pay for no win? lol [16:28:11] (You): lol good question [16:28:15] Ƭ: haha
  19. Ballysyria - easy to remember. It's where gambling is not allowed...
  20. Well I did reply to your message, if you recall, and spoke to you for a few minutes. I was trying to help with that off-sim huge scenery prim some dummy rezzed around your region, and I was flying over your parcel above 100 meters at about 20 knots. Your orb still ejected me, because I froze up for a couple seconds, and then kept flying. I think you had a 10 second eject time. Your region is divided up into many small parcels, so it is impossible to fly and avoid flying over someone's land for a few seconds. There is no way to detect an orb in advance when flying. Fortunately you have some abandoned land around you. There was one guy that had a tiny parcel right next to the Linden road, with a zero second orb. His parcel was empty, it looked abandoned. Just another reason why mainland travel sucks.
  21. That would sort of defeat the purpose of buying tokens with lindens. I guess you mean until everyone gets hooked on winning coins that are useless. I looked for the teller cashout window, and I think they forgot it Blackjack is a game of skill and luck - you just have to pay attention, and not accept those free drinks while playing.
  22. I dropped into the Casino this morning. Hit the cheap slots first (2 coin min) - watched my 500 coin balance slowly decrease to 150. Then I got 3 spins, and the slot kicked me off the machine and awarded me 600 coins. Then I tried the 6 coin min slots in the center. Watched my 750 decrease to about 450 min, then back to 500. Then I moved to the blackjack table, and won enough hands to end up with 1100 coins, before I quit. So despite the usual brainless slot playing (something I never do in a RL casino), I doubled my money at blackjack. I usually win at blackjack at a real casino too, but don't double in 30 mins, or the floor bosses would kick me out. I did see SocialCasino Linden show up while I was at the blackjack table. I wasn't card counting, honest. So don't ban me. It was just luck. hehe
  23. If SocialCasino Linden is actually a Linden owned bot owned by Linden Lab, and it is illegal to impersonate a Linden unless you are part of Linden Lab, then this is just another money earning scheme for Linden Lab. You buy Lindens and pay a hefty fee in dollars. You buy their "chips" which have no trade in value with your purchased lindens, and eventually lose all your worthless chips, and need to buy more lindens from LL, paying their dollar buying fee again. I can see why LL would think this is the perfect scheme to increase earnings. If you think LL has any moral issues with gambling, you have not been paying attention to what has been going on in SL for the last 20 years. Their TOS is only to protect themselves from civil or criminal action in the real world. This social casino scheme violates no RL laws, since the player has no chance of winning anything, and is told that in advance.
  24. A thread is not a Topic, it is a reply to a Topic: Home Forums Technology Forum Second Life Server Topics No published Deploy Plan for the week of 01/05/2023 is one Topic. Replies to the Topic is the Thread, where everyone goes blah, blah, blah, unless a moderator closes the Topic. Then Aishagain starts a new Topic for another week...
  25. Is the opposite to Normie, Abnormalie? I would rather be Normal.
