  1. Step inside the Walled Garden, a place of apparent perfection. But hidden within its walls is a troubling absenceβ€”criticism is not allowed. In this sheltered environment, growth stagnates and innovation fades.
  2. Let the Lindens establish a digital fortress around the WelcomeHub, as merely advising someone against certain actions on the internet has never been perceived as a challenge. In return, we'll don our "Avoid Help Island" capes and "No New Users Allowed" t-shirts, constructing virtual forcefields to keep them away from our clubs, beaches, and homes. We should collectively agree to treat the WelcomeHub with caution as if it were a breeding ground for virtual contagion. Who needs help and community spirit, anyway? Let's designate them as "Noobs" and revel in our superiority. Our perfectly curated digital bubbles require no infusion of fresh faces. While newcomers stumble in the dark, let the seasoned oldbies chuckle and enjoy their virtual cocktails, relishing in their self-imposed isolation. Because what better way to say "welcome to the virtual world" than a well-practiced habit of shunning all "Noobs"? Who needs a friendly community when the solitude of deserted platforms beckons? Picture the joy of navigating Second Life alone, accompanied only by pixelated birds and the occasional tumbleweed. Let us unite and form the exclusive society of WelcomeHub Dissidents. Remember your membership cards and a touch of snobbishness to complete the experience.

  4. As the saying goes, "Many hands make light work". It emphasizes the value of collaboration and the idea that tasks can be completed more efficiently when multiple individuals contribute. This concept can be applicable in various contexts, including mentorship programs. In the context of a mentorship program, having multiple individuals, including mentors and residents, offering their support and assistance can be beneficial. It allows for a broader range of expertise, diverse perspectives, and a larger pool of resources to draw from. During Second Life's Lab Gab Special Live at SL20B, Phillip Linden expressed the following sentiment, "We would be wise to look at things like second life and remember it is not in our nature to hurt each other or to ignore each other or to turn away from each other. It's you know what's in our nature is the opposite of that to be good and to take care of each other and that's what you see in Second Life. It's like how you go in and people want to help you as a new Resident you know for the first thing is you know people are like hey I can help you out here." That's a positive outlook. While it's important to maintain structure and clarity within the mentorship program, recognizing the potential benefits of collaboration and teamwork can lead to more comprehensive and effective support for those seeking help. Encouraging residents to contribute their knowledge and assistance alongside mentors can create a richer and more supportive learning environment for all participants.
  5. In situations where a resident offers help, even if their advice may not be optimal, their genuine intention to assist should be acknowledged and encouraged. Allowing residents to contribute fosters a collaborative and supportive environment within the program. If a mentor feels compelled to tell that resident to lay off, a more constructive approach could be for the mentor to take a step back, redirect their attention to other users, and remain available for any further questions the new user may have.
  6. Create a local AI system with xVASynth for voice communication, bypassing restrictions of commercial AI. Though imperfect now, it's rapidly evolving.
  7. Here's a car and a cow in some grass at my ranch.
  8. So, you're saying that you think Second Life has a small variety of appearances and sizes or just the Shop & Hop event?
  9. OR .... they'll just move some stuff and mash more around the edges.
  10. Another thing to consider is people can be melodramatic at times so, if I'm chatting in local it's filtered Hunny because I don't want to hurt anybody's feeler.
  11. Okay, so my take on this is it's just like the real world. You don't go to a club, bar, restaurant or dance hall and address the crowd. People are more likely just engaged in private messages. When you have a group of people who all know each other you're most likely to see them engaged in local chat especially when ad-hoc chat constantly breaks.
  12. The big moneymaker is LL who tax and fee all the slex creators, clubs, etc..
  13. Did she imagine eating at the Chinese buffet for longer than four hours?
  14. Same, and IMVU had working male parts but they were contraband and after the music ring thing I blazed out of there never to return.
  15. Targeted advertising exists for a reason and it's everywhere. Your web browser uses it constantly to generate ads specifically based on what things you've searched for. Someone could be looking for erotic stories and discover that SL has actual roleplay communities devoted to it and once they're here they find there's also art and music, architecture, simulated nature, and a whole world of opportunity. A lot of what people think they know about SL's adult content is coming from age-old stories, TV shows and memes that don't show SL in a positive light and from what I see here a lot of people are okay with that.
  16. Where is this coming from? Who's saying it should be? I don't think anyone is advocating for SL to be marketed "purely" as a place to get off or "purely" as a place to listen to music or "purely" to create whatever.
  17. Does seeing an advert for Coca Cola force you to drink it?
  18. I don't think anyone is saying make SL all about sex but stop hiding it in the fine print on the last page and the darkest corners of the grid!
