What if two PPlus choose the same Linden home?
Derrick Linden replied to Marianne Little's topic in Linden Homes
Hey all! I'm here to help clear up what I can. This actually isn't the case*(normally, see below). When we go to release houses, part of the process is to rename the regions to remove the SSP from the region name. This is why we will typically tell interested Premium Plus users to wait for the SSP to disappear from the unreleased region names - this means that they're now released and ready for claiming. We do not hold parcels for Premium Plus subscribers, and we will only accept requests for parcels on newly released regions AFTER the region has been released. Any requests for a parcel on an unreleased region will be informed that they will need to wait until after the region is released and submit a new request. *What might be causing a bit of confusion was due to a problematic Houseboat release a few weeks ago. During the course of the release of the parcels on these regions we encountered an issue that required a bit of investigation, then work from our web team to resolve, which took an additional few days. Because the regions had already been renamed in preparation that the parcels would become available within a few minutes, we made an exception on that specific batch of requests and reserved requested parcels for when the issues were resolved. However, I want to stress that this was the exception due to extenuating circumstances, not the norm. Hopefully this clears things up!- 41 replies

🍬 It’s The Great Trick or Treat Event, Bellisseria! 🎃
Derrick Linden replied to Patch Linden's topic in Linden Homes
Hey all! We recognize things are still broken - as Quartz mentioned, last time we saw this it was only a few hours, this time seems to be happening quite a bit longer, and at the most inopportune time. We're looking into possible workarounds to get things working again. As of this moment, we have no plans to extend the event beyond its current end time. However, we are considering our options for how to handle prizes. Obviously, that won't be to the extent of handing out all prizes to anyone, but we believe we can find a happy medium. We'll let you know when we have any updates!- 213 replies

If I'm thinking of the correct release, I believe this may actually be a different situation. At one point a few months back we released some Stilt home regions that were labeled incorrectly, on land regions incorrectly labeled as on pier if I remember correctly. We've since fixed all of those, but I could see what you're describing being possibly the same issue.

Greetings! To answer these directly... 1) True. The best way to identify these right now is to check if the region name starts with SSP. If it does, then it is still a work in progress. Our currently release method has these regions renamed at the time they are released to remove the SSP label. 2) True. Once assigned, that home belongs to you until you abandon it or downgrade to a basic account. 3) This is subject to change as the Premium Plus Linden Homes haven't been released yet, but based on my current expectations, this will likely be true. There is no difference in how the LH picker assigns out parcels - they function the exact same. Any homes claimable by someone that is Premium Plus is also claimable by a Premium user, and vice versa. All parcels (both those returning to the pool of available parcels by way of a resident abandoning, or newly released parcels) are made available to both Premium and Premium Plus members simultaneously. The LH assigner does not recognize a difference between Premium and Premium Plus, and when functionality is later added for Premium Plus specific homes it will have no additional impact other than limiting Premium Plus to Premium Plus subscribers.

Basically this. Unfortunately the time saved would be rather minimal, if at all, and would still require a large amount of mole work to get to the final (imo lesser quality) product.

I just wanted to respond to a few of these and help offer some more clarification. Going off the lists that have been passed around is not a problem at all, and we absolutely won't be disqualifying anyone that has come by their candy honestly. Some home owners may have relocated and placed out a new bucket, and unassuming trick or treaters have come by and clicked their bucket twice (or three or four times for that matter). That's absolutely no problem. Cheaters was probably a bit strong of a word, and that's on me. It's more fitting to say that they're exploiting an unintended bug. Nothing wrong with anything you've listed here! Everything here is in the spirit of the event. This right here. I can't give a whole lot of details, but to toss out a number - one individual currently in the running for prizes (if we were to not adjust these numbers) has collected a little over 61% of their candy from repeated uses of a fairly small number of accounts. Meanwhile, the average trick or treater has a repeat rate of less than 2%. Someone not exploiting this loophole should not lose out on prizes they've worked toward by someone who is abusing it so maliciously. Unfortunately we began to see the topic discussed more publicly, such as in the Belli Citizens group. We wanted to make sure others were not encouraged to go out of their way to attempt to "level the playing field".

Greetings all, We hope that you’re enjoying Trick or Treating across Bellisseria! We’ve seen a lot of activity, and we’ve heard a lot of positive feedback about the event in general. We’ve been quietly monitoring several individuals that have been cheating by way of using loopholes to collect more than one candy from a single Linden Home owner. As this has become more widely discussed, we felt the need to make an announcement on this matter. You will only receive credit from collecting candy from a parcel owner the first time it is collected. Subsequent clicks on a bucket from the same parcel owner, even if on a different home/parcel, will not be counted. While the number on your hud will go up, it is not counting on the back end where we have extensive documentation that we will be reviewing prior to sending our prizes. In short - anyone that thinks they are gaming the system is wasting their time. Any individuals identified for flagrant abuse will be disqualified from any potential prizes they may have otherwise won.

It’s The Great Trick or Treat Event, Bellisseria!
Derrick Linden replied to Patch Linden's topic in Linden Homes
Hi everyone! We have just pushed out an update to the candy buckets. This update lowers the LI of the buckets from 6 to 4. Everyone that has already collected a bucket already should receive this updated version automatically. If for whatever reason you do not receive the updated version, please revisit the location you originally picked up your bucket and use the redelivery vendor. Please remove your previous bucket and rez this new update on your land to take part in the event. Hope you've already got your costumes, we're just a few days away!- 4 replies

Linden Realms closed fore repairs
Derrick Linden replied to Dandeelyonne's question in Everything Else
We're just ironing out the issues, we're working to get it back up and running asap! -
Hi Residents! Many of you have noticed that Linden Realms has been under maintenance and inaccessible for the last week. The Moles are hard at work getting things back in working order! We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. While it’s inaccessible, please feel free to enjoy some time in the beautiful world of PaleoQuest, where there’s only a minor chance of encountering and being eaten by deadly prehistoric creatures. Alternatively, you may prefer visiting Horizons, where you’ll encounter a futuristic world filled with beautiful scenery, killer robots, explosions and minefields! Sincerely, The LDPW Team Edit 1/10/20: I know many of you are anxious to get back into Linden Realms, and we are still working to correct a few issues. Linden Realms will be reopened as soon as possible, however we are currently unable to give any time estimates. As soon as it has been reopened, I will update this post. Edit 1/29/20: Linden Realms has officially been reopened!

A Question about Networked Advertising on Water Parcels
Derrick Linden replied to BilliJo Aldrin's topic in Mainland
Yes, basically this. While the "attractiveness" of it obviously isn't something that we're going to scrutinize (too harshly, anyway 😉), the solution would be to place something like a platform, or something more creative, on the surface of the water to anchor your advert to. You'll then be limited to no more than 8m above water level.
