I would't be surprised if they quietly abandon the Realms soon. I wont be going away as long as Magellan's Grid Scavenger Hunt is still going on, because the hunt goes to linden realms. Rezzers seam to get turned off and on no rhyme or reason to it that I have fond, I do wonder about if there is may be a monthly L$ amount they give out and then start turning areas off, but it's been many months since I last saw all realms with all areas turned on. Last week one of the caves was up again I made a lot there because few people even check them any more, but it's turned off again.
  2. I just did the lindent scavenger hunt, I now have a pet rock moster on my shoulder, but it dosen't seam to help protect me from the other rock monsters. The quest uses part of linden realms and the story line has some thing to do with crystals being stolen out of linden realms, so might explain why many of the crystals are missing. Note you need a premium account for the hunt. https://secondlife.com/destination/magellans-grid-scavenger-hunt
  3. Looks like LL did a update to linden realms a few days ago there are new flying rock creatures and many more crystals around, I've all so noticed a few bugs, so it's likely LL is just fixing things that got broke with the new update. One of he stange bugs I've seen is when using firestorms AO I have to reset the AO or it looks like I'm flying every time I stop running. Sunspires teleports seam to be broken too.

Read Rodvicks comment here, his second comment sure makes it sound like Linden Realms was made to give new resident some thing to do in addition to being just a test for new tools. Any way not trying to argue with you, just thought his comments give a good idea of what stage the CEO thinks SL is at. http://www.sluniverse.com/php/vb/general-sl-discussion/73965-if-you-were-linden-3.html#post1583234
  5. http://community.secondlife.com/t5/English-Knowledge-Base/Linden-Realms-Frequently-Asked-Questions/ta-p/1057471 "You will be teleported automatically out of Linden Realms if you perform an action not intended to occur within the experience. Linden Realms requires the Linden Realms HUD, along with flight and teleport being disabled. If the HUD is detached, or if your avatar manages to teleport or fly within Linden Realms, the region will automatically teleport you to your home. This is done to ensure that the Linden Realms experience continues to operate within the intended design." "How do I report griefing/camping/cheating? Linden Realms is subject to the same rules, regulations, and guidelines as the rest of Second Life. In the Second Life Viewer, choose Help > Report Abuse to report abuse." I think that the scripts used by cheater far exceed the intended rules against teleport or flight, in addition many of the scripted cheaters tend to camp for hours, possibly using bots for it too. Just like griefing this is an other negative for SL for attracting new users. 2 or 3 people with the same tools in the same sim would make it all most useless to even try to use them any more. I hope Linden Realms doesn't get closed down, It's really the only way for new residents to get some spending L$ , the idea of giving out the cheat tool is hoping that LL would finally do some thing about it. It's very clear from Rodvicks comments, that one of the biggest problems SL faces is keeping new residents. Every RL friend that I've tried to get in to SL left due to greifing, getting tired of that...
  6. I've been playing Linden Realms since it came out, I think it's a really important place for new SL residents to make some L$ to help develop their avatar so that they might stay a bit longer and hopefully get into SL, even Rodvick is concerned about new resident retention. http://community.secondlife.com/t5/General-Discussion-Forum/rodvik-linden-asks-a-question/td-p/1581831 For new residents it's all so a place where there is actually some thing to do. But there are many people now using scripts to cheat, I'm not talking about fly over ride or click to teleport both which are built in to most viewers, but scripts that scan for crystals (by object or script name likely) and then move the avatar from crystal to crystal so fast that they can clear a sim of all its crystals in seconds. Linden Labs has done nothing to stop these people, ARs are ignored. I don't have a premium account so have no way to submit a ticket and Rodvick had stopped responding to the link above before I saw it. I Think this is a real issue that is extremely frustrating to many people special new residents who are just likely to give up on SL all together. May be some one has a better suggestion on how to deal with this, but if LL won't or can't do anything about it, if some were to make an open source free script that allowed every one to cheat on equal terms them may be LL would have to do some thing about it, or it would at least making cheating not profitable any more for those who are ruining it for ever one else. Like I said may be some one that knows more about script and how SL works will have a better idea of how to deal with this.
  7. One thing I noticed Is that some times when you see one of the good area for orange crystals has lot of green dots, doesn't mean that there are lot of people there collecting crystals, I think some people may be parking alts or bots there to scare people off when they check the map to look for a good place to collect crystals.
  8. There's a fishing game where you can win L$ but from what I've heard you'll spend more then you make playing it. There my be others but I doubt that any would pay more then Linden Realms. Once you know your way around Linden realms well, you can easily make 60 to 120 L$ per hour (no cheating required), most important factor is to play when there are fewer people around.
  9. Qie Niangao wrote: I'm surprised it's taken this long for the LR game to become unplayable -- and I'm more surprised by the low-tech way people are still using to reap the crystals. I'd expected there to be special-purpose bots, long before now, that would scoop up the crystals as fast as they can rez. If the other, "cheating" players are still able to respond to you, however, they're not just bots. If Lindens still hope to use LR for something more than a (trickle) L$ source, this current "cheat" would be easily foiled just by checking the speed of the colliding agent. In general, however, it would be an escalating war of Whack-a-Mole, so I'm not sure a short-term fix would be worth the effort. I saw a bot in LR the first week or 2 after it came out, it moved from crystal to crystal so fast it was hard to see. I've never seen anything like it again so LL must have done some thing to prevent more.
  10. You can make lots of $L in linden realms, 2$L per minute is way better then the old camping systems that use to be everywhere, but unlike camping you have to be actively involved and think about it.
  11. Persephone, Yggdrasill Castle is some place you would like theres a forest on one side of the sim with lots of monsters and plants. http://slurl.com/secondlife/Yggdrasill
