We could suppress the problem by turing off scripts and narrowed the problem to a single parcel, which must have had an object with a malfuctioning script. About that time my complaints to the concierge got an engineer to look into the problem. That fixed it. TKR Thinkerer, that sounds like an incredibly helpful and practical response. Iam Runningbear has been suffering greatly, and you might have found a possible solution for them, or at least a 'lightbulb moment'. It does sound more likely to be a malfunctioning script within an object, than a problem within the actual sim's server. Just another thought, for Iam really, if it was the server itself that was causing Zerango to be down/inaccessible, then the other sims that share the server would probably all be down/inaccessible too. It seems unlikely, though, because you can actually see Zerango as it should look, not as the blue mass you normally see when a sim is 'offline'.
  2. This is a resident to resident forum. Have you reported that the region of Zerango has gone offline via Live Chat or a Support Ticket? That is what you really need to do.
  3. And now I'm just reading up on what happened in the latest User Groups of Oskar's to see if there is any more light shed on this subject. I need coffee ! :matte-motes-big-grin-wink: http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Beta_Server_Office_Hours/Minutes/2012-08-02
  4. I was reading the JIRA about llTeleportAgentGlobalCoords https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/SCR-383 and although I haven't found a use for these new features, I find I have frown lines in RL, because I thought it was possible for everyone to be able to use this now. I had created a new avatar to test what happens currently when a new resident arrives in world, and they just have to walk towards portals and get (what seems to be) sucked into a vortex - but they are teleported to another sim. I admit I am talking a little bit through my anus in this moment, as I am still computing in my own head information about this recent facility/feature in Second Life. And other replies will of course follow soon.
  5. Welcome to Second Life Answers, FancyRae It may seem like you have multiple major problems, but it all may stem from just one, an interruption in connection while information has been transmitting from the servers all those miles down the line to your computer(s). Maybe you remember having what seemed to be a sudden crash as FancyRae, whereas this did not happen recently to your other avatars/characters? I would start with simple things, before doing a character test (which you say you have tried and it has failed). I would start by attempting to rebake ("ctrl", "alt", "r" all pressed simultaneously will bake your textures back on). Wait a few seconds. If this does not work, or if you have taken on a bizarre appearance, then a character test really should work, but whenever I do this, I do it in an empty sim - Furball or Quarrel or Ponsonby. This should put your avatar back together for now, but you can expect to suffer this problem from time to time if your internet service/connection is a little bit inconsistent. Edited to add: As you say the character test failed, you may well need to clear your cache. Use the menus at the top of your screen and go into "preferences" (on Viewer 3 it's under the Me menu I think, on some other viewers it is under the "Edit" menu), and within Network tab, should be "clear cache". Do this. Then relog into one of the quiet locations, open up your inventory window and wait for it to load completely - be very patient, it will usually take several minutes, depending on how many items you have in your inventory. Wishing you the best of luck, and I hope you will return and let everyone know how you got on. You can fix this, quite easily I believe. It is a common problem, be assured not as serious as it may seem. **** If you wish to add more to this thread you can do so by clicking on "options" at the top right hand corner of your original post and "edit" . Please don't start any more new threads.
  6. I really doubt the OP has returned - how would we ever know? There is often no sign of life once they make their original post.

Developed long before modern technology, specifically to counter such an impost on your personal life -> THIS is your only hope :matte-motes-big-grin:. Practice often and be safe in the knowledge no fancy spy camera or facial recognition gizmo can recognise you. That's what happens when the wind changes direction! I'll stick with my false nose and false teeth (although the moustache and beard are quite real ! :matte-motes-sour: )

I knew they were up to something a long time ago. Ohhh I do miss Bewitched. :matte-motes-big-grin: @ 16 I sleep with the light on (because I fall asleep reading a book usually), but had a thought, what if that microchip also had a microphone in it and a little video camera (s'pose it'd have to be in the front of the neck then rather than the back as is the norm with cats and dogs), and an automatic app to post to Facebook and ... ..... and I really don't wanna go there And to the super-serious people in this thread, as with any surveillance, be it Government/Police-led, or just the nosy neighbour twitching their curtains, they'd probably miss the most important bits anyway, like the plan to hit the Twin Towers, or that little tree climbing urchin who just happened to steal the door keys during that couple of minutes Mrs Nosy-Nextdoor was afc (away from curtain).

Frightening thought ! :matte-motes-shocked: Those microchips are allready there, in our phones lol It is said that its to find them easier if you loose them, same as cars and other stuff. But if you do nothing wrong then its fine, right? I'm not against being microchipped, if I'm honest. And in the cases of children that go missing, how useful it would be to be able to locate them because they were microchipped - like our beloved pets!
  10. Hahahaha At least when people do not bother to return to their threads we can have nice little chats like this
  11. Welcome to Second Life Forums, wizzelone. If no one seems to hear it then it could either be because they don't have their sounds set up the same way as yours, or because their camera focus is elsewhere, or because the sound is coming from something attached to you. However, because you say the sound goes away when you teleport to another location, or you move your camera away, I am inclined to think it is possible there are some hidden noise makers dotted about. Do you happen to be hearing these sounds in one particular location, ie a Linden home? If you press "ctrl" "alt" and "t" all at the same time, it will highlight any invisible prims for you. Or you can turn on beacons via the menus at the top of your screen to find sound sources. In case it is something you are attached to that is creating the sound, try detaching all from your avatar, see if that makes any difference. Wishing you luck, and hope you will return to this thread often with updates, and the eventual solution.
  12. I was a little bit freaked out when Google Earth got quite so close in to where I was living; but my civil service friend was outraged. But I don't think it is beyond the realms of possibility that we will all be microchipped from birth, so that the Government knows exactly where we are and who we are with at all times, and where we shop/eat/work. Frightening thought ! :matte-motes-shocked:
  13. Welcome to the Forums, Abajomy. It sounds like you're going through a pretty bad phase in SL at the moment. If you've been having no problems since 2006, that's excellent, and hopefully, one by one the residents here will be able to help you sort out the ones you have currently. The pink issue has been common with many residents who have been using ATI graphics cards. Sometimes simply visiting the website for the graphics card and updating the drivers has helped. Because I want you to get the best possible assistance, and it sounds like you have several issues going on at once, could you please add your full computer specifications to this thread. Other responses will follow.
  14. If you're using the inworld search feature and it's slowly "loading..." it could be down to your connection or the fact you're in a busy/laggy sim. If slow to load searching for friends is your issue, teleport across to an empty sim - Furball or Quarrel or Ponsonby or Itress for example - and try again there.
  15. Hello, Julianna I'd say persist with the ARs; but can you also look at the Roles and Abilities section of your group and swap things around a bit, so that people do not automatically have the right to join group chat. If you have moderators and co-owners within your group, and people you trust, you can allow them rights to join other people to the chatters in the group. (I take it this person is harrassing and causing problems in the group chat?)
  16. Welcome to Second Life Answers, Simcaa If you change the daylight setting to midnight, you will see if the shoes are on full bright as they will be glowing like a beacon! Amethyst makes great suggestsions - before you try and edit the shoes, if you can, make a copy of them, just in case you do not like them after you edit them and want to revert to the originals.
  17. Maybe I have watched too many advertisements on the television LOL
  18. I was not always so mature :matte-motes-wink-tongue: And thank you, Irene.
  19. Welcome to Second Life Answers, Mrs String Irene is right, there are clauses within the link to the Community Standards that she gives you about intolerance and harrassment. But do remember, if you are urged to send in an abuse report against someone who has written defamatory things about you on their profile, it is rather like schoolyard tip taps, and you might be better to remember that little poem: "Sticks and Stones may break my bones But calling cannot hurt me" I find that people who tend to feel the need to write negative comments on their profile about another are best muted and ignored; they just make themselves look bad. Best of wishes to you.
  20. Hello lazylover Weird suggestions coming up for you :matte-motes-big-grin-wink: You are able to log in to Furball (the empty water land sim) and then teleport a few times before you get logged out? You've run ping test etc, and that came out clear. This is suggesting to me that maybe you are having issues with load on your graphics card, rather than connection issues (although connection issues cannot be ruled out altogether). It would be helpful if you (a) check your graphics card drivers are up-to-date; and (b) post your computer's specifications here so we can have a good look see. You're not a newbie, and I am also thinking there is a good chance that if you have been using the same equipment to access Second Life for a while now, you may just be suffering from general wear and tear - again the graphics card issue is coming to the front of my head. Also, you may be overheating. Have you checked inside your equipment for dust bunnies recently and given it all a good spray out with an air duster? Keep us updated please.
  21. Haha, well done, Irene I wanted to see what life as a new Resident on the forums was like. I do not like the kudos and post counting nonsense, and now I feel fresh and freeeeeeee !!!
  22. Hello, sweetnlow6. We are residents too, like you, and we do not know why you cannot log in. I see that you have been a resident of Second Life for several months, so you have been able to log in on previous times. Please tell us the message that comes up on your screen when you try to log in.
  23. If you can, be neighbourly and either contact Live Chat to say which sims have been down for more than 30 minutes, or fill out a Support Ticket. There is nothing as yet on the Grid Status page, but this may be updated as they receive reports of dead regions.
  24. YAY happy faces all around ! :matte-motes-big-grin::catvery-happy::manlol::womanlol:
  25. I went in and took a look, and saw all these little rotating arrows all over the place (using Highlighter). I see the land owner just there has something of a sandbox, but hasn't been online in a little while. I submitted an AR too.The owner of the spamming objects is no longer listed inworld, so LL probably dealt with them for griefing everywhere; unfortunately these darm things still exist.
