Actually, no script is needed for browser-on-prim. All of the text displayed is on the web-page. You can set the web page directly when you set up the prim. I do not recommend that arrangement because you want to let people use the web features to scoll down the page, and perhaps to look at other pages. When they do that, however, they will leave the prim displaying a page other than the one you want. I use a simple scrikpt that resets the prim to the intended page every 15 mins. If you send me an IM inworld, I will send you a working prim with a copy of the script. The script is intetrnally documented. TKR

Yes, strange, especially since Firestorm is so similar. But since Firestorm works for you, you don't really have to solve the problem. TKR

The headset I have been using for several years came from Radio Shack, for about $20 USD TKR

Here is how I do that: BOP Summary. Browser-on-Prim. Web-on-Prim http://virtualoutworlding.blogspot.com/2011/07/kit-bop-summary-browser-on-prim-web-on.html I also have free scripts that reset the prim to the specified page every 15 minutes Since it is a web page, I change the contents by changing the web page. If you don't currenty have a web page, you can set one up on Facebook. TKR

This is probably not relevant, but here is a bit of advice that solved a credit card problem for somebody else: If you are doing business with Linden Lab and run into problems, first be sure that you are accessing the site via the current standard LL viewer. There have been problems with entries from various browsers (possibly due to keystroke interpretation). TKR

If you use Browser-On-Prim (shared media), you can make wearable prims: Virtual Outworlding: Pocket calendar http://virtualoutworlding.blogspot.com/2010/08/pocket-calendar.html The user just wears it and can read it. Others can read it, too, if they have set their prefs of display media attached to other avatars. TKR

You may be able to fix this by setting your bandwidth down to tne lowest level. If that works, you can try higher bandwidths. You set bandwidth In preferences, probably in th setup window TKR -
Need help setting up open mic night
Thinkerer Melville replied to funkilicous's topic in General Discussion Forum
For speaking, voice is fine -- Lauren uses it regularly at her Tuesday show. For music, you will want a stream. Experienced performers supply their own strean, but they will expect to be paid. I pay 5K lindens per hour. for open mic, you will probably have to provide the stream. Here are some relevant articles Events. Restarts without end. How long will it last?
Thinkerer Melville replied to Lali Kamala's topic in Second Life Server
You will not lose textures you have uploaded in a normal restart -- the ywill still be in your inventory. In building, you need to learn to back up your work. Think in terms of parts that go to make your build. Work on one part at a time. After you have done a significant amount of work or when you are ready for a beak, either link the part and take a copy into inventory or take it as a coalesced object. Coalesced object: What is that? http://virtualoutworlding.blogspot.com/2011/05/kit-coalesced-object-what-is-that.html Suggested pol;icy: Never leave a piece of work without getting a back-up of what you have just done. "Nothing is done till it is in backup." TKR -
Sounds like connection problem on your computer. Do you use the Profile Feeds?
Thinkerer Melville replied to Knotter Blogfan's topic in General Discussion Forum
I read the profile feeds in my browser several times a day. I post a few times a day. Will probably do more when th new standard viewer lets me include pictures. TKR -
Try using the SL standard viewer--if you have accidentally derendered the walls with another viewer, that will probably not affect the SL viewer. You will need to be able to see them when you want to modify them. Another way to get access is to create a new account- - which should be able to see them. Then give that account authority to modify your objects. TKR
