  1. Thank you so much! I didn't expect an answer so detailed and fast! Its really a great thing
  2. So Blender is free but has a learning curve? I think once, ages ago I downloaded it and started to look for tutorials, then realized, for everything you want to learn there are dozens of tutorials, and also you have to watch out for the version you use. Other things came in, I forgot about it. I would love to start over. If you can recommend few links, where to start and maybe some beginner mistakes I could avoid, that would be awesome! I would like to see what Qavimator can't do and others can, I really am clueless lol. I just create single and couple poses. Static.
  3. Thank you very much for replying, some things are much more clear now but it also made my curiosity go nuts lol Would it be possible to flag a certain item if it is listed twice - once under General rating and another version under Moderate? If it has different images and similar names, would it be considered as a double listing or not? And what kind of effect an image has on the maturity rating? For example - a nice artistic photo of a nude girl that shows her breasts? Is that moderate? Or we can leave it under general and use general keywords?
  4. Why is important for an item to stay under "general" category and not be moderate? Is it because it doesn't show outside of MP (for example Google images)?
  5. I use MP as a catalogue... its good for searching and browsing. When I find few products I like, I go visit the shop in-world to see the product there. If its a good thing, and I like it (and if I don't get distracted and forget lol) I like to go back on the MP and buy it there so I can leave the review. Its good to leave a review, it means a lot to the seller and also promotes good products. There are good sellers there too, not all are bad. When buying rental systems, dance systems or any other similar product your best bet is to visit some lands for rent, check their rental systems, visit clubs and see what they use (right click and see creator - open creators profile, read.. check pics and voila!), or ask a friend... I am not in-world right now but if you want I can check which one I have, it never let me down. Don't be scared... its not only the MP, the whole world is like that, and it'll screw you in a second if you're not careful
  6. Raise your prices. Cheap makes people think photos are not worth, it will attract people who will ask only for good deal and not respect your time and effort; My photos cost all same. Packages mean you work more for less; Advertise; Upload only small size jpg photos on your website - it will be easier to load once you manage to put more examples; Put more examples; Make a profile on every website you can find; Chose one or 2 social sites and be active there; Try to connect with your customers. In any way you can handle; Try to shoot other people, not just your own avatar. If you can't find other people then make your avatar to look different; Do pile-ups from time to time (really, really good way of getting out there); Write your Terms of Service and stick to it; Advertise more. Good luck
  7. Your photos are lovely and I wish you best of luck in the modeling adventure! Since its not allowed to mention names here (its considered as advertising, specially if I would mention my own group or business) I will not mention specific people or names but want to offer you few tips... Forget SL forums and focus more on other websites, Flickr is good, Google too. You can search for SL modelling agencies, inform yourself about the courses they offer and once you graduate you will become a certified model. Then you can get gigs and pose for various photographers, walk the shows... fight lag Good luck!
  8. Events that accept my store usually cost around 3-5k lindens, I participate in few of them and always make nice sales. I never tried to apply to superpopular events but most of those are invite only. Last month I was in a hunt and paid 10k to be on the (if I remember correctly) 4th place. For me, best event is pose fair because I earn at least 100k, this year I paid 15k for landing point store. There are several websites with infos about upcoming hunts and events where you (or anyone else) can look at the application and fees. If I may ask, why are you interested in this?
  9. First... thanks for replying! And you know... in a way this is disappointing... I was hoping there are some new bones added in the human skeleton. Would be a nice confusion to deal with lol. I subscribed to your channel, so I don't miss anything have a nice day!
  10. Haaaai :) Since forever (count 2 years lol) I've been using Qavimator to create poses and its not bad. I had DAZ for a while (never learned to make poses with it) but when my old pc died I didn't bother to install it on this one. So now that project Bento is around the corner I feel really bad, behind everything and I need some tips, guides, whatever helpful people from these forums can offer. I am curious, in what way will this project influence poses in SL? Should I start updating my old ones? Where to start? What to buy? Maybe there are some helpful links? I understand that Qavimator is no longer updated and has no support so its time to switch to some other program, right? I know I can use Blender and Maya (actually not that because its pricey) and need to get (buy?) a "thing" to be able to make SL poses. Avastar? I have tons of links in my bookmarks but its just a big mess and I hope someone here could say it short and sweet ;)
  11. Please allow me to offer you few advices. When you say that you're an artists in SL please include few examples of your work in this post. This way people can check your work and see how they feel about your artistic style. Do a simple spell check before hitting the "post button" - the icon is on the far right - little ABC with a check mark, just hit it once and it will underline any misspelled word. When representing an idea and specially when asking a favor best is to have at least one or two items prepared - in this case I would say that I already have 2 of my paintings at my friends places and I would offer SLURLs for people to teleport and see how they look in-world. Good luck
  12. There are several people here who work for a comic style magazine, I bet they would enjoy doing this with you. You can find them by looking at the first few pages of Art, Music and Photography forums, they are ones who have many posts about that magazine and give each other kudos

Some of it by some of the most heavily blogged SL sellers, not just the fly by nighters. THIS ! 10 gazillion of times THIS. And not only heavily blogged but also holding a good part of the market... Is there a way to find out which merchants do this? I spend a lot of money in SL and would prefer if it goes to genuine and honest people who make an effort and create things on their own.
  14. First and most important thing is to set the graphics to as high as your computer can handle. Specially object and avatar quality. Then you need to increase the size of the snapshot you take - I usually shoot them around 5000 pixels wide, and always save as .png type of the file! Concerning the green screen - it doesn't HAVE to be green! You can use any color you like, I often use gray, sometimes white. Gray color is best because if you have some leftovers, they can easily blend in the background of your choice.
  15. There are ways... if you really want to try it. One is to download a bunch of hair brushes and combine them to make something pretty http://digitaldreams-art.deviantart.com/art/Hair-Stock-1-329252370?q=favby%3APookey-ho%2F47474361&qo=54 http://cindysart.deviantart.com/art/HairStock-III-203675948?q=favby%3APookey-ho%2F47474361&qo=80 http://maskimxul.deviantart.com/art/Hair-Brushes-Strands-15151668?q=favby%3APookey-ho%2F47474361&qo=136 http://ivadesign.deviantart.com/art/hair-brushes-II-99673734?q=favby%3APookey-ho%2F47474361&qo=231 http://frozenstarro.deviantart.com/art/FS-Painted-Hair-Strands-94557158?q=favby%3APookey-ho%2F47474361&qo=237 My advice is to pay attention to brushes you dl and give them credit somewhere, all those people are sharing content for free and all they ask is to mention them in some way. Another way suggest you to master the pen tool in photoshop, create paths (that represent the hair strands) and simply stroke those paths. It is rather complicated but gives amazing results once you really get into it. And it will take you HOURS! Good luck
  16. There are two types of verification here... The verification you can read about in Skrill TOS asks you to enter additional RL data (I think card infos) in order to transfer more money (forgot the limit because I don't come even close to it lol). You do this verification on Skrill site. The other verification is about LL and Linden dollars and we need to do that verification in order to prove that the Skrill account we want to use is really ours. Its the one that asks for 1US$. This verification is done on LL site.
  17. I have small Wacom Intuos, before that I had some Bamboo but the pen broke... Now, I don't know what you do with the photos when editing but if you are painting over the avatar in any way, even if its just adding some highlights or shadows, tablet beats the mouse in every way. And if you ever want to draw hair or fur, you really really need a tablet! It doesn't have to be expensive one (all we really need is that pressure sensitivity that all pens have) and maybe you can find some cheap used tablets (many artists buy small ones and switch to the bigger, more fancy tablets after a while). There will be a day or few days of getting used to the pen but you will never want to go back to the mouse
  18. My marketplace sales were never too high and I had an item... uhm how do you say it in English? One of my items was listed first in its category under relevance. Now its second. I have another one that is sometimes on the first page and sometimes goes on the second page under relevance. I consider them to be my marketing poses Interesting thing that happened is that I had tons of Facebook likes on them and now likes are gone to zero. Best selling items can be easily manipulated and for a while I was keeping track of some items in the category thats relevant to me. It seems that some merchants abuse the system in a way that they buy their own items and climb up in search. I didn't pay much attention to recent changes besides seeing likes are gone... which is really not a big of a deal... For me, one good event can beat any marketplace sale with a blink of an eye. Too bad LL let the MP become what it is today...
  19. Thanks! I remember seeing it but never paid much attention to the rating, seems I have set only one product to be moderate... But what interested me more, is there some difference in the amount of sales with different ratings? Everywhere in SL I am looking adult items since forever and thought most of users are same... is there some report or maybe someone tested to see how many users stick to G rated areas?
  20. I am curious... where do you check for your listings, are they general, moderate or adult and why does it matter? I have all three turned on and never really thought about ratings on the marketplace...
  21. Since forever I open items in a new tab... there is one main tab with my search and, whenever I find something that I would like to check in details - right click and open in a new tab.
  22. Complaining on forums will not help you, maybe just build a certain reputation.... Sometimes.... I can't believe things people say.... I mean how do they dare to make such bad decisions and create completely wrong clothes? OMG!!! Only thing you can do is contact your favorite creator (one that gets most of your shopping money) and order a custom made clothing. Offter your shape and ask can they create a line of clothing that fits it. The way you wrote it here.... here is NO WAY for creators to guess your specific shape size, they create clothing to fit something we could call "an average shape". Often happens that people decide to create some extreme shape and get emotionally attached to it and then complain how nothing fits?! I'm not saying you are on of them, there is no way for me to know this but lets be fair, you really find it okay to complain how someone didn't manage to create a clothing part that doesn't fit perfectly to the shape they never saw?? And continue with saying you would do it better lol. Of course you would, you created the shape! Go on, stop thinking for others, start thinking for yourself and if you really know better then become the creator yourself and make the clothing that has the perfect fit.
