  1. I'm trying to use a tool called LandMap which I've used often in the past on my land; you rez an array of scanners and it creates a sculpt-map of your terrain. I last used this tool maybe 6 months ago (before pathfinding came out?) but now every time I try to rez a scanner, it jumps to about 10m from my 1/4 homestead's perimeter. If I try to drag it back it'll jump to the nearest point at the edge of my parcel. This isn't a function of the tool lol. I tried different viewers both on my Mac and PC, and eventually noticed an icon in Firestorm that said something about objects in the region not behaving correctly until the region was rebaked. So I region-rebaked. After that I got a message that my region doesn't have pathfinding enabled so objects might not do as they're supposed to. I tried reading up on pathfinding a bit but it all seems directed at creators. Is the only solution to contact my real estate place and request they enable pathfinding? Or can I do it just for my own land? Or is that not even the issue? Why are the scanners leaping to the very edge of my land? Any help is appreciated. :)

As Charlotte pointed out, all mass-produced food has been messed with, so whether it has a GMO-free label on it or not is sort of irrelevant, as are vague standards like "organic." Really the only way you have a clue what you're eating is to grow/raise/hunt for yourself, although even then you're either using seeds & animal-stock that are the product of hundreds of years of selective breeding and recent engineering, or you're smacking a salmon over the head that's spent the last few years swimming in oceans full of polluted gunk. Basically we're all screwed, it's just up to the individual as to how much poison he or she consumes. Yep, I'm jaded on this issue. :}

It looks even better on your land than mine, Sara-- I'll pretend secretly that it's my home away from home. I'm excited to see how you decorate!
  4. Hey now, surely half the height difference between Sara and I has to be credited to her new hair. *stands on tippy-toes and tries to look convincing* She does make a lovely Amazon though.
  5. NealCrz wrote: Ko somehow you always capture the whole scene bringing the viewer into th scene. She looks very petite in that one. Well done. Blush. Thanks, Neal. :} I'm not sure I've ever been called petite in SL before actually. I think Sara's words yesterday were "short stuff."

  7. Saraya Starr wrote: I'm up for a decorating business, would give me something to do in SL besides spend lindens foolishly..lol. Anyone can come see my homestead, it is in my picks on my profile /me peers behind Ko and looks at her house. Can I ask where you got that? It is so hard to find a decent Asian look, or perhaps I am extremely picky The house is by Noni Troncon - she has a small, beautiful Asian shop called Nonino. When you land at the TP spot, the house I have will be on your left, behind you a bit. :} I'd love to see your place though-- I'm too polite to just show up via your picks lol, but I'll drop you an IM inworld.

Saraya Starr wrote: Lol Ko, you would hate to see my house then..or houses..*coughs* I endlessly decorate over and over..yeah my SL is exciting ... :smileyvery-happy: Hmm..maybe I should see if Val wants to start a decorating business..lol. Definitely! Or at least have an open-house day to let people run around thiefing all of your ideas. Is there such a thing as a home-decorating blog for SL? You see fashion ones all over the place, but someone should honestly give clueless people like myself some tips on where to shop. Actually I just bought a new house recently for the sole purpose of NOT decorating? It's so beautiful empty that I can get away with a minimum of bonzai trees and parchment-caligraphy wall-hangings and still have 80% of my prims left for building in my sky-sandbox. (See also: 80% more money to shop for clothes )
  11. Val, stop it! I have house envy. And seemingly-infinite-prim envy. And decorating-budget envy. And just... envy. Growl!
  12. Caitlin Tobias wrote: You cannot resize or modify any of the C:si swords. The Ronin Katana Kelli was wearing on the picture is quite big, for a female perhaps, but it never bothered me (as a fighter I was not interested in its looks, but only in the combat ). If you go for looks, than an Archatek (any of them) is smaller, specially the blood drinkers (although they are 'specials' and not really used or popular in serious fights). I never wear the sheath on my avatar, but as a HUD on my screen, to minimize prims and lag, as do most fighters, I guess thats why the size /looks doesnt really matter in this case . Thanks for this, Caitlin. I'm primarily interested in aesthetics for use in film & photography-- well, that and I'm completely non-competetive; prone to politely accomodating people's desires to off me. :} I'll check out the Archatek swords though, and maybe cam-stalk some peeps at combat sims to see what the cool kids are using to kill each other these days. Thank you!
  13. Did you post this in the wrong section? Here's a good link for into about bake fail.
  14. Here are the keys I use for camming: ZOOM - option and up/down ORBIT - Option and Control plus directional PAN - Option and Control and Shift plus directional
  15. :matte-motes-agape: Remind me not to accept a dinner invitation from you, Sara. Love the hair and wings though...
  16. Congrats on the new MB, Quinn! There used to be a handy wiki page for Mac shortcuts... eiethr I'm tired or just can't find it right now. You can download the SL Quickstart Guide though (pdf format) and the last page has shortcuts for both Mac and PC.

Alicia Sautereau wrote: Guess i`ll be the only one saying yes then, No rl besides work No need for sleep No need for food Limitless energy ...and a few scores to settle Aslong as i can change to my alt even tho ali looks cute, lol Hm, I suppose I would, if all the rules that hold SL together were applied to RL. Not much crime, no sickness, no pollution... I could mute annoying people, never feel sad because someone was far away. I could buy a house for practically-nothing, never fret about debt. And most importantly? I could dance better than I do RL right now.
  18. Kelli May wrote: It comes with a full set of animations, including guard, kicks, high, low and roundhouse blows and drawing from back & hip. It's C: SI (Combat: Samurai Island) compatible. A good start might be a trip to the C: SI store http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Samurai%20Tokyo/139/139/22 where you can buy Musashi blades or other brands of Japanese weapon (the Archatek Naginata is interesting if you want to try something a little different). eta: I just remembered that "Sadistic Hacker" have a freebie pack of katana poses at their store; good for action photography. Kzah, thank you so much-- I'm at Combat: SI right now and it looks like they have some nice blades-- as well as AOs. Do the Musashi swords fit female avis pretty well? and/or can be resized? That's always been one of my biggest peeves with blades in SL. Thank you also for the Sadistic Hacker tip (lol, mmk that sounded odd) -- I'm headed over there right now.
  19. Ohmahgah-- Neal! Aren't you cold in that snow?! *hands you a really long fixin' list and bats her lashes*
  20. Ohmahgah-- for all the boots in my inventory? HECK YES. For all the weirdos in SL? Um. No.
  21. Mm, I'm glad RL interaction doesn't rely on standing around silently until a complete stranger slips you a private message. This is why I avoid clubs really though. I hang out at a small, chill place of like-minded people who mostly chat in local together. I guess I prefer coffee shops to clubs in SL and RL both.
  22. valerie Inshan wrote: This old brige (it was already installed on my land when I moved in) has some fantastic poses! I thought about buying this bridge too, Val-- the anims & poses are brilliant, huh? I just have nowhere to rez it at the moment since it completely doesn't go with my bamboo-sprouted, tatami-floored shoin-zukuri house. Lovely pix as always though. :}
  23. Kelli May wrote: It's like I'm always dressed for a fight these days. I even bring my own dramatic lighting. Ooo, I love this! I'm sort of conflicted on whether I would or wouldn't want to meet you on a dark night, Kelli. Does that katana come with any good animations in it? I've been out of the loop on SL weaponry for ages, but I'd like to make a combat film sometime maybe now that I'm on a better connection. Maybe you or Caitlin have some suggestions?
  24. Aww, welcome to the forums, Jewels. :} To be fair I don't usually respond if all someone says to me is, "Hi..." either -- unless they're putting some effort into talking to me, in other words -- and I often won't appoach others unless there's something incredible or specific that draws me to them. I'm pretty shy as well though. If you create an interesting avatar and fill your profile with things others might want to chat with you about, you can be lazy and let the more outgoing people find you.
