  1. Congrats on going premium and welcome to Belli! (Just a little patience and you will be here.)
  2. Getting ready to abandon a cute Vic in Patchett that backs up to the sea. http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Patchett/68/107/30. Backyard faces West. Going in about 5 minutes.
  3. I wonder what's going on with http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/SSPE1206/198/215/52. Living nearby I've watched the moles build this region last week - roads and homes and trees and flowers - and then the homes go away. Then the homes come back. Now the homes are gone again. ???
  4. Problem solved: it was the computer! Whatever it is affected the screen and wifi. Arg. God forbid that hardware testing software the laptops come with detect a problem before whatever component is already dead. Thanks all!
  5. Actually, I have been crashing recently. Hmmmm... That's been more of a problem some days than the other issues, which are comparably rare overall. Just a few instances of the very odd stuff...
  6. What does it mean if I've been online with the same computer, with the same browser, at the same problem region (the Full Bright, skip-the-trash one) today. No changes, and no problems. What is that about? I plan on immediately moving to another browser the next time I glitch.
  7. Everything I mentioned happens in Belli; and the full bright problem has repeated 3 times in a single Belli home yesterday and a few days before. Attachment loss happened at a different LH Belli home this afternoon. Reattaching HUD problems occurred on a mainland shopping region. Slow rezzing happens often though I need to be more mindful to track where. I've checked the computer, bandwidth, internet connection; it's not that. All Ok. No problem with sandboxes, and it's not about re logging. The issues have been intermittent over the past few days. It is disconcerting that none of you are noticing same. Time to switch computers and see how that pans out. Thanks.
  8. I hope I'm not repeating a thread already here. I have not seen a thread of Belli / LH anomalies. So... Objects and textures can take an inordinate amount of time to rez. Adding an attachment won't wear, or it will take a long time to register as worn. A shape change can result in some attachments dropping. (Thankfully not hair, so far.) Ordinary prims oddly become Full Bright at one of my LHs. They will not let me untick Full Bright. I delete them. These deleted objects go away forever. They never heard of the Trash folder. There is difficulty unlinking parts of builds. Has anybody else experienced any of these things? Could this be related to the cloud move? You know, the one that should be transparent...
  9. Patch had commented in the Belli group that cloud transfer was likely to initially show a performance gain in region crossings. (No clue what he meant by "initially.") More gains to come? I think I've noticed the region crossing improvement. But I've also noticed objects and textures that are unbelievably slow to rez. Like in 2005 on a bad computer.
  10. I've done that a few times with two computers and different browsers. I do it all the time with one computer and some browsers. I think it is a royal pain in the neck, but very doable. What baffles me is how they (seem to) consistently mine new region releases, something I was never able to do other than with sheer luck. Scouting regions and creating release probability lists is a labor-intensive process. Plus you have to simply BE THERE! An alternative explanation may be a version of bots. Just as land bots took over the grid some years ago, perhaps we have LH bots now.
  11. Lol! How the heck do they do that? Do they have scripts which notify them of a release? Have they rented a bank of computers manned by part-time moles? Are they related to Patch?
  12. Want to get rid of these ads? Quit using Chrome and anything Google. Try Firefox with a script and ad blocker and search with DuckDuck Go. Running SuperAntiSpyware also helps. And never, ever sign into anything with a Google or FB or anything account. In fact, quit FB. (Sorry Marketing!)
  13. This houseboat parcel will be released at 5 pm. It's not the best parcel, but it is far from icky. http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Thresher/105/142/23
  14. We are on the same page Leora. I lucked out on a parcel last week and put an Evening Star on it with Blush's add-on. I love it!
  15. I am a pre-beginner interested in getting a sense of what mesh is. An old SL wiki page walks the user through uploading and editing a multi-face mesh file and directs the user to download seymour.dae at a page that no longer offers the file. Googling seymour.dae for a download was fruitless, so I imagine that file is hopelessly outdated. But it would demonstrate what multi-face mesh is. Does anyone know where to get a copy of this file, or a similar file that could be used instead? (SL wiki page is http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Mesh/Uploading_a_multi-face_mesh)
  16. That may have been the one an alt caught. But she let go immediately. Wasn't worth posting here.
  17. Not sure where this post belongs, but I thought here worked OK. I am so impressed with Linden Labs. I was on one of the unreleased regions today and noticed all these cones. The bright red cones indicate plantings that were not placed properly or are doubles, etc. and are marked for repair. Nice work LL!
  18. Seven hours later and it is hidden in pink again. And there are two avis there. Also, there is a rectangle of sand located just below the pink area.
  19. Well, I just HAD to look it up! Translation of Nando's post: I am far from Florida, but I wanted to contribute to the architectural issues considered unique to that place, it seems to me that the climate and the landscape are sometimes decisive for the choices of what to do and how to build. Here is a post that happened in October 2019 and I think it is worth reviewing the type of stilts that we have in the Amazon. This is my current boat and, for me, it is as if the Amazon ended in SL. See the freedom to post some photos of a city called Afuá, which is in the state of Pará, where there is a typical Amazon climate, and the..
  20. Soooo.... If the SL servers are outdated and maxed, the move to the cloud should improve the user experience. Is that correct? (Since I've heard otherwise.) Edit: Patch partially answered this question in group chat. He is looking for an improvement in region crossings. I don't know if there is anything else to add.
  21. I would be totally delighted to see an updated version of the Meadowbrook homes! Nothing beats those huge windows, height, and open floor plan IMO. (Plus it might encourage some of the die hard old Linden home owners to migrate.)
  22. I love this theme too and intend on adding it to my collection. But I'm still waiting for the contemporary, open plan, high ceiling, huge window, with water home - NOT in an urban setting. Can't please the world, huh? 😄
