Hi everyone, I just started a new fashion blog on SL. Just thought I can harmlessly put it up here as well as see if anyone has any thoughts, suggestions. Maybe stores in mind or what they would like for me to review or blog about? You know, maybe you see a cute jacket on the marketplace but aren't sure how it'd look real world or something like that, that I can review before you all buy it and waste money. Thanks everyone!

Interesting. It's a pretty good start!

You might try a few things, though, particularly in your credits -

1. Who made the skin? Many fashion bloggers will switch out almost everything, including skin, since skin can also be a part of fashion in Second Life. Not that you have to if you don't want to, but it's a thought.

2. Don't forget to include shoes in any outfit. If you can't get a good full-body shot that shows the details of the pieces well, you can take several shots and make a collage that includes a full-body shot and a couple detail shots. Shoes are part of any outfit - even if you choose to go barefoot, try sculpted prim feet and tell us where they're from!

3. Accessories. Jewelry, handbags, hats, scarves, tattoos, makeup, piercings....There are so many great accessories in Second Life, and it's fun to see them in a blog dressing up an outfit, sometimes in ways readers might not have thought of. For instance, a necklace would go great with the neckline of that top. I did see that it looks like you're wearing prim nails. Where are they from? Can you post a close-up shot? They look cute, so it would be nice to see a better shot of them and see them in your credits so readers could easily go out and find them.

4. Remember when you're posing that the pose should show off the fashion, so if accessories like hair hide a lot of it, you might want to try either another pose or another hair.

5. Speaking of posing - you can find some good poses and use and credit them in your blog. Not everyone does this, but it's a thought.

Overall, though, I think it's a nice start, and I hope you keep going!

ETA: There are some blog challenges out there, too; the weeks of color one ended not that long ago, for example, where participating blogger posted an outfit each week that was all in a particular color, like "tangerine." You could explore those to get yourself started. It gives you a goal, and keeps you posting! If, of course, you have the time and the interest.

One more tip is to change your antialiasing setting: Preferences > Graphics > Hardware Settings. Set antialiasing to about 2x. It'll get rid of those jagged lines I noticed in your newest pic. Cute outfit, though. ^_^

ETA: And maybe be a little careful about phrasing. You'll alienate readers who have larger avis by saying that you're a size 0 and it looks great on you - but won't on them. Just a thought.

oopsie, didn't mean it to be catty, just thought it'd be like not as good a fit for those with larger sized AV's. And yeah the photo is jagged because I was experimenting with photo editting and like totally got the color nice but the increase in contrast caused the jagged lines. Thanks for the photo tip though!

I didn't think it sounded catty, necessarily, just perhaps a little poorly worded. Better might be something around the lines of - "Sized for smaller avis, so if you're a little larger, you may have trouble getting it to fit properly. Be prepared to edit." Or something. Most people with larger avis are used to this, anyway, as most clothing in SL is sized for small avatars.

A link with a slurl to at least the main featured article would be cool, if not a link to every place. Like in your second one, where you say Aoharu, you could make that a link, so if we are inworld, we could teleport directly to it.

I was at Aoharu this morning and saw this top and just had to put together this little cute outfit.

Or wherever you want, I think slurls are cool :)

Mmm not bad, I think its very gorgeous. What I reccomend is doing more pictures in different poses and maybe for the shoes just do a picture of the shoes only, that way they wont be hiding by the jeans. Another thing to do is, for the nails try showing the design on the nails (if they have any) so the audience can see. :) Hope it helps

Congrats on your new blog, and there is lots of great advice here.

I'd like to recommend some quality posemakers that you can check out. There are a lot of old distorted poses still circulating in SL that really need to die a quick death.

1. LAP (Long Awkward Pose) by Dove Swanson. I have been using her poses for years and she is one of the best.

2.  Luth by Luth Brodie, one of the oldest posemakers in SL.

3. Olive Juice by IsabellaGrace Baroque

And there are many more. Here's a flickr group dedicated just to poses  http://www.flickr.com/groups/811971@N25/pool/with/5375504379/

Good Luck!
