problem with removing hair

i'm busy sorting out my inventory and tidying it up.  i put on this hair and now i can't get it off, there's no way to detach or delete it from my avi and now i'm stuck with this 'thing' on its head.  i've tried logging out and coming back on but it still won't delete.  the delete option isn't highlighting.  anyone have any suggestions?  thanks

Are you wearing a bald hair base? That usually gets rid of it. Search your inventory for bald hair base and wear it.

You cannot delete hair while it is on your head.  Next time you can also try 'wear' on a different hair in your inventory and that hair will replace what you have on your head.

I spent several panicked minutes as a newbie once after I put on some rainbow hair and could not figure out how to get the damn thing off.

i had already tried wearing another hair before coming here, luckily it got sorted pretty quickly thanks to Randel's suggestion.
