horse avatar

Question

Now hear me out. As many are aware that there are several different people who make horse avatars (feral form) for people to use and purchase. however, trying to use one of the standard human Anthro avatars to turn into a four-legged horse is a slight issue because an Anthro avatar is not really designed to have a four-legged mesh avatar applied to it. maybe you guys could think about creating a basic horse avatar with four legs that people could then apply their mesh avatars to so it the playing of four-legged horse avatars wouldn't be so clunky and weird looking.

Welcome to the forums!

There's no really good place for a suggestion like this in the forums, sadly. If you'd like to get someone to create a horse for you, you might try posting in the InWorld Employment forum. If you want suggestions about where to look for a horse that you haven't found already, maybe the Wanted forum is right. Otherwise, the Creation forums don't work because those are for creators exchanging ideas or moaning to each other about things that don't work. And this Answers section isn't going to work either because it's for asking how SL works (or why it doesn't).  I'm not sure what to suggest except maybe try contacting some of the current mesh designers directly with a personal message. There are some very talented creators out there.  Good luck.

The avatar skeleton has two arms, four legs, two wings, and a tail.

So it's perfect for making a centaur avatar, but what is the best way to use it to make a horse avatar? Should one use the arm attachment points for the front legs and the back leg attachment points for the back legs? Or should the front legs be attached to the regular leg points and have nothing attached to the arm and hand points? In the latter case, objects that would normally attach to a hand would seem to float in space, wouldn't they? This might be better than them attaching to a front hoof.
