How do you cash your ssi check without a bank account?  As mentioned, you can easily set up a bank account where your check is electronically deposited.  If it's the same bank your parents use, funds you owe can also be electronically transferred to their account to pay your share of the bills.

If sorry you're having issues processing credit through LL/Tilia but unless you do something suggested by others, you won't be able to take money out of SL.  That's the bottom line.

They really don't do SSI checks anymore. It is either Direct Deposit or you get a specialized card that has your monthly SSI loaded/deposited into it.

The link I provided before explains the payment methods.  He might have a waiver, in which case a postal employee riding a donkey might deliver a real check.  But how to cash the check, a check cashing service that charges an extra fee, or a local Walmart?   There is a lack of useful information other than nothing works, from the OP.

From the SSA govt. site:

Federal law mandates that all Federal benefit payments – including Social Security and Supplemental Security Income benefits – must be made electronically.

There are two ways you can receive your benefits:

Into an existing bank account via Direct Deposit or

Onto a Direct Express® Debit Mastercard®

Direct Deposit is the best electronic payment option for you because it is:

Safe – Since your money goes directly into the bank in the form of an electronic transfer, there's no risk of a check being lost or stolen.

Quick – It's easy to receive your benefit by Direct Deposit. You can sign up online at Go Direct®, by calling 1-800-333-1795, in person at your bank, savings and loan or credit union, or calling Social Security. Then, just relax. Your benefit will go automatically into your account every month. And you'll have more time to do the things you enjoy!

Convenient – With Direct Deposit, you no longer have to stand in line to cash your check when it arrives. Your money goes directly into your account. You don't have to leave your house in bad weather or worry if you're on vacation or away from home. You don't have to pay any fees to cash your checks. Your money is in your account ready to use when business opens the day you receive your check.

If you are applying for Social Security or Supplemental Security Income benefits, you must elect to receive your benefit payment electronically when you enroll. If you currently receive Social Security or Supplemental Security Income benefits by check, you must switch to an electronic payment option listed above.

To learn more about how to easily switch from a paper check to an electronic payment option, visit Treasury’s Go Direct website or call the Treasury’s Electronic Payment Solution Center at 1-800-333-1795. You can also create a my Social Security account and start or change Direct Deposit online.

In extremely rare circumstances, Treasury may grant exceptions to the electronic payment mandate. For more information or to request a waiver, call Treasury at 855-290-1545. You may also print and fill out a waiver form and return it to the address on the form.

If you have any questions, call Social Security at 1-800-772-1213 (TTY 1-800-325-0778).

That's kind of what I thought.  Therefore, the scenario I mentioned about setting up their OWN bank account is quite possible and actually would be preferable IMO.

Where is the check being deposited?  Who has access to that account?  Are you aware of exactly how much you are receiving?  Those questions important to know the answers to.

1. No point doing KYC if you don’t have a verified PayPal in your own name or a bank account to wire money to.   When you go to cash out the process will get cancelled if you are trying to route money to a third party.

2. Multiple people have explained how you can get a bank account for free so you can set up your verified PayPal.  So do that first and get it sorted.

3. Once all done re apply for your Tilia approval for KYC.  Use the first bank statement for the second part of the ID.

4. All will require your SSN if you do not have an SSN you can use your ITIN.

5. You can also set up an online account for your Social Security I believe and use a print out from that with your benefits and address on for ID.

6.  Remember to include all amounts you cash out in your tax return.  Once you reach 600 USD Tilia and PayPal also report it to the IRS and you will receive a 1099 tax form.
