Question

My account was deleted for false accusation in 12/January/19. I was slandered, so the support banned my account.

Support quoted some rules that I did not break then concluded: This concludes our investigation of your appeal. You may not return to Second Life on any account, new or existing. Please consider the matter resolved, as no further communications will be sent.

All subsequent communications, I was not answered. The ticket was closed without response.

I had balance in dollars and lindens on my account, and they did not return it. Support only deleted my account for false accusation.

This was a big problem, I had to contact the bank to ask for the return of the payments of my credit card, because the support did not answer me.

But on April 21st, support reactivated my account as if nothing had happened.

I intend to buy more lindens, but I'm afraid my account will be deleted again. I've never broken the rules of the second life.

How to prevent my account from being deleted because of false accusation?

Fabio, it is rare that LL bans someone unjustly.  They have access to unedited chat and IM logs, so they can tell what was REALLY said, not just what somebody alleges in an Abuse Report.  However, mistakes do happen on rare occasions.

If someone does submit what you consider to be a false Abuse Report on you, you have the right to appeal LL's decision.  When you submit your appeal, be sure that you include all the facts, in as clear and logical a fashion as you possibly can.  Back up your statements with chat and IM logs, including names and dates.  Do the best job you can, because you only get one chance...as you found out.

If your appeal fails, LL won't respond to further online communications.  I guess, in that case, you could try sending a registered letter to them at their San Francisco offices.  If there is a lot of money at stake, you could get your lawyer to send the letter.

I don't know what happened in your case...usually, when LL rejects an appeal and issues a permanent ban, it's really permanent.  You were extremely lucky that LL reversed themselves, even if it took them four months.  Congratulations, welcome back, and try to put this distressing time out of your mind.

Original Post is side one of the coin. The other side is and always will be a mystery to us. Though Linden Lab not only can see both sides of the coin, they also can see what makes the coin, what materials and what ratios and the entire recipe that creates the coin. Apparently, they have decided that your contribution is the slag, so they removed it. Though that doesn't mean the other side of the coin didn't have too much slag in it, either.

LL banned me without facts, they just showed me rules that I did not break. I replied that it was slander and I never broke those rules. they did not tell me who made the false accusation or the fact that caused my banishment. But my account is normal now. I will make the purchase of new lindens using Paypal, if LL delete my account again unfairly, the refund will be easier.

There is a Governance UG meeting. See http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Governance_User_Group

Those of us that have been around SL for a time and interacted with various Lindens know your claim of 'without facts' is not true. The engineering staff knows the Lindens in governance. They vouch for them and what they say. This provides cred to governance peeps. What the governance team says they do fits very well with the stated corporate policies of Linden Lab. That gives their words more cred.

The basic idea is kicking people out for no reason is bad for business. Kicking problem people out is good business. That RL reality provides a framework for what to believe in the corporate speak.

This forum has loads of posts about people complaining about not being able to get problem people out of SL. You are kicked on a single complaint with no evidence? No... Marginal or ambiguous evidence isn't used to decide actions. Accumulation of such evidence may eventually result in action. But, the governance people are patient and tolerant requiring clear evidence of a ToS violation.

There are also vigilante groups that try to target people they think should be out with a flood of Abuse Reports. The governance team is used to that tactic. Again, their action, as best we outside can tell, is based on evidence not the volume of claims.

Evidence in SL is in the server logs. Slander is quickly detected because it claims behavior or statements not in the logs. Behavior is logged. Whatever happened or didn't happen is apparent from the logs. Abuse Reports provide the key info needed to find the log entries related to the report. So, there is ALWAYS evidence.

You are wrong. I was banned unfairly. No facts. I asked for the facts on the support and I did not receive it because they did not exist. I created my account in November 05, 2007. I never broke the terms.

You were obviously banned unfairly, in LL's opinion, because your account was reinstated.  So that much is true.

You will never know the "facts".  LL does not disclose the details about why they ban an account, or for that matter, why they un-ban an account.

Just be grateful you're back in SL.

That depends on what you were banned from. If you were banned from a single region or estate, you can try contacting the owner to ask for a review, but the owner doesn;t have to do anything unless he wants to. A landowner may always decide who is allowed to be on his land.  He doesn't need to explain or even have a reason.

If you were banned from SL, only Linden Lab can tell you why.  They send you an e-mail that explains their reasons and tells you how you may appeal their decision. In the end, they own SL, so they have the right to decide who gets to use their product.
