So that answer to you question would be very dependent on which it is. You can actually get an outstanding looking avatar for 40 LINDENS by taking advantage of group gifts and gifts for all. You can get a free mesh body (I am assuming you are going to be a gal from your name) at eBODY (1 linden to join group). If you pick "classic" (not curvy) you can find plenty of cloths to fit those (maitreya fit often works but not always). Note that the whole mesh body (you wear it over the classic body) has a big learning curve so you might want to wait a few weeks until you get you bearings. Other top freebie places to look would be: teleporthub.com (10 linden group join and lots of very nice items to find -- you go to various stores and find the teleporthub.com group vendor, click and it get's delivered to you. ) SLF&O (Second LIfe frees & offers) is a good group too but lots of announcements so not all are free Free Dove has some nice things Depending on your tastes, there are many folks that give out great group gifts. My top goto places when outfitting a girl for free are: COCO and Hilly Haalan (there is a whole building near the landing point with past gifts) You can type "freebie blogs second life" into Google and get a list of blogs with free and inexpensive items. You CAN find good free items on the Marketplace but it has so VERY MANY LISTINGS at the moment it is more difficult than finding something particular at Amazon :D. So be prepared for that. Probably the most confusing part now -- when you are new -- is understanding that not all clothes fit all bodies and that MESH bodies (ones you purchase) are close to "the norm" now if you want many fashion choices. Since I am making the list .. LeLutka bento head. -L$5000 A R T E eye applier for LeLutka. -L$200 Remaining budget = L$1500. KC shoes - Join group for gifts. Buy boots, flats, sneakers, wedge and fancy heels. About 500 for all of the that. Just BECAUSE - Kaylah Jeans, pick a single color. These work fantastic for tall boots and the butt is very nice. -L$200 Pick up Blueberry's gift tops either from store or MP. Zero cost but still top quality. They look good with the jeans above, too. Dresses - Bowtique Valerie Dress - Lesser known store with cheap options. Not original mesh but well made textures. -L$50 Join the Monthly Midnight Madness group. The next run is Saturday. This event is kind of fun and you get some well made gifts, usually in non-standard but fun colors. With the remaining L$750 or so, pick up makeup and nail polish from Izzie or Alaska Metro. KC Coture where the shoes come from have two very cute and unique styled swim suits at L$100 each; fatpacks only. Formal wear can be hard to find something that moves the way you want it to.
