It is nice that we got a Monday update on the deploy plan. Thanks Lindens.

However, that the Release Notes on #17.10.20.510004 are non-specific... nothing said in the release notes other than a date for roll out, not even internal changes. That is no help.

May be what would be more useful to the community is the current information and information on coming RC's currently running on the Preview Grid. Perhaps an announcement of the versions running in Preview and the region names. That would give people an opportunity to test their products they fear may break. Plus, it would get you a few more people testing versions before they go RC.

With 'internal changes' that are often security fixes we are working blind. So, the notice of preview versions isn't that useful. Explaining security fixes would give griefers head start. So, I wouldn't expect Linden silence to change on security. But, the other changes, like the HTTP format correction, could get people started adjusting to the change.

I suspect some of the requests for testing help are not decided on until about the time of the Thursday UG meeting. A post before the meeting, whenever the info becomes available, in this thread would be nice.

Of course we only see what you are doing when you post or at a meeting. We don't know all the stuff in your daily work assignment. So, we can't know how difficult getting the time and information for such posts would be. So, my request is to make it as easy on all of us, including you, as possible and post what is useful or say there is no user actionable info at this time. I take the 'internal changes' as pretty much saying that. But to the new... just 'internal changes' doesn't really say that.

I do appreciate your advising us about recent 'internal changes' and their purpose at the Beta Server meeting.

Whoops! It was always going to be internal changes only, but I got so focused on getting the deploy plan ready and up on Monday I missed the obvious problem with the release notes Fixed now!

I just updated the initial post. We found a last minute bug that necessitated rolling the RCs to the version currently on the Second Life Server channel. Rolls will still happen to all 3 RCs at their scheduled times however.
