What are community reputation points for?

What are community reputation points for? What do they do? What are the ranks for reaching a certain number of points? Do people with negative reputation points get kicked out? List all the ranks including the ones for negative points.

You get points anytime someone likes one of your posts.  It means you either post lots of good stuff or you are just popular or who knows what it truly means. There are no ranks based on points and you cannot have negative points.

LittleMe Jewell explaiend the point system. The ranks seem to be just a leftover from the old forum, I don't think it does anything anymore.

Of more significance is the number of posts itself, once you past. 500 I think you can change that little saying under you name.
