Linden Lab has removed 10 random products from my list!!
Branded item removed??! What??

There are no branded item(s), brand name, logo, image(s), or other item(s) containing intellectual property in my products... Perhaps separated by commas in metatags (so it's not a brand).

Oggetto: Notice re: Your Second Life Marketplace Listings

Dear bruno Canadeo:

We’re writing you because your Second Life Marketplace listings include the
following branded item(s), brand name(s), or other item(s) containing
intellectual property :

HARLEY DAVIDSON

*Marketplace Listing Guidelines*

Branded items may be listed or sold only by the brand or intellectual
property owner or its authorized agents. Please review the Branding
Guidelines in our Marketplace Listing Guidelines at:

https://marketplace.secondlife.com/listing_guidelines#branding-guidelines

We also do not allow keyword spam in listings – or the use of brand names
that have nothing to do with the item listed so that the listing will appear
in search results. Please see Disallowed Actions: Item or Keyword Spam at:

https://marketplace.secondlife.com/listing_guidelines#keyword-spam

*Removal of Brand(s) or Intellectual Property* Linden Lab has removed the
above uses of brand(s) or intellectual property from:

* Your Second Life Marketplace listings
* Your content within the Second Life virtual world.

No refunds will be issued for any removals.

Please review all of your listings to make sure they are in compliance with
the Marketplace Listing Guidelines. **Future warnings may result in your
suspension or termination from Second Life.**

If you are the intellectual property owner or authorized by the intellectual
property owner to use the above brand(s) or intellectual property, please
reply to this email and attach documentation establishing your ownership or
authority.

Thank you for your cooperation and for your creation of original content for
the Second Life world.

Sincerely,

The IP Team at Linden Lab

Why are  you complaining?  You break the rules you suffer the consequences.

I notice you STILL have other items on your MP that are DMCA'able - unless you contacted the movie makers of Kill Bill & got their permission, you are infringing on their rights.

So are you saying you used the word 'Harley' then, because it's very likely that forms part of the Harley Davidson trademarks as well, just like Cocoa Cola and Coke or Second Life and SL

Your being disingenuous.  Even though you separated these two words by commas, the intent is clear that you were putting them there so that your product would show up if people entered the brand name in search.  That is a clear violation of the prohibition against using brand names as keywords, even if separated by commas, because the result is the same. It was a violation of the LL policies as well as the IP rights of Harley Davidson.

Public or not, the policy is clear that you cannot use keywords in this way.  This didn't happen coincidently, you purposely did it.  You have no defense

Hi Bruno - using the name in meta keyword tags is also a no no.

Many moons ago I made the mistake of using a personalities name in the keywords of a few outfits because they reflected that performers style.  They were removed and I got the same note as you received. The problem with that sort of removal by the commerce team is that  the items can't be simply ammended and relisted as they can when flagged. On this occasion it's quite simply one strike and your out!

^L^

Thats true. Its shame we see these attempts to wriggle around the rules on technicalities.

To the OP -  just comply with the rules in deed and in spirit and you wont have items removed, you are obviously talented, there really shouldnt be any need for you to be involved in this sort of noobie nonsense.

Check the keywords on this item. https://marketplace.secondlife.com/p/DAVIN-BEATLE-ONE-PERCENT-Edition-v-13-Officine-Aliprandi-motorcycle-chopper-bobber/2507262

I know it is frustrating, but when harley davidson is the search term the items come up as well as many other items that are not your items. Keyword spam removals are most irritating. The whole flagging system just sucks. You never get to know who accused you.. it just sucks for everyone.

I'm happy to see Lindens clamping down a bit on this kind of thing lately... if indeed that is happening.

So it appears anyway.

Cool :catvery-happy:

I've always found sloppy treatment of IP & prevalent graymarket culture around SL to be quite repugnant.
