I float around 750-1000 saved outfits. (I don't have a problem, I can stop anytime) I have a folder not in outfits for "archived outfits" where I can move outfits my lesser worn stuff out of the gallery, and move them in when I want or otherwise reference). I name my outfits with a top level "tag word" (gowns, sexy, costume, lbd, etc) then the maker - name, I then add addition tags at the end of the name (color, more tags like "steampunk, gothic, beach) It feels hacky and I would prefer to have folders, but it's how I manage. I also take pictures of all my outfits.

What year is considered oldbie?
Obic Malaprop replied to Charlemagne Allen's topic in General Discussion Forum
Memories of telehubs, and camping chairs, and dwell and first land ,and shoes stuck to my ass, and SL exchange flash through my mind.. oh what's that deary? bah! I am not an oldbie.. I'm "vintage" Being an oldbie isn't really about the age of the account, but when that the rose colored glasses turn those old annoyances into fond memories. Nostalgia just aint what it used to be -
Friends respect friends boundaries. A friend will respect your personal boundaries. but if a friend doesn't dance, then they're no friend of mine.

What new name would you give Second Life?
Obic Malaprop replied to Gabriele Graves's topic in General Discussion Forum
I've always been a little partial to "The Grid". "Sorry I'm busy this weekend, I'm visiting with some friends in the Grid". -
I've hosted on and off in SL for a long time (even before it was even really a term). Different venues are different, and I've noticed different 'genres' have very different tipping "cultures". Some DJs will tip out their hosts, many will not, some of the better venues will "seed the tipjars" for DJs and hosts if the tips aren't very high to ensure their performers are getting at least something. Some hosts really are amazing at creatign fun and engaging atmospheres, steering conversation away from problematic topics, or de-escalating without anyone being the wiser.. and some are just... not that But the same is true of DJs, or club "owners/managers". But tipping should NEVER feel like an obligation (not speaking of Adult places, where "tip" is just a codeword for an exchange of services). I think we all get it that different folk have different budgets. But a place that tries to guilt me into tipping, or make it seem like I'm doing something wrong by not tipping, isn't a place I'm going to frequent. As for me, since I spend a lot of time at clubs, if I'm having a good time, I'll tip 100L per hour of enjoyment, sometimes that's all to the host, or all to the DJ, but usually spread between them.* If It's a club I frequest the club will get a donation every couple of days for a superfun event, or something special. If the host is just a gesturebater, yea, you're not getting anything, but same for an afk DJ who just pops in their playlist on random. If I'm having a "great time" I'll tip more, and if it was just so-so music, and the host isn't really engaging then no tip. /shrug that's just what works for me. But all this means is there is no one-size fits all, to each their own. *I do something similar to a beautiful spot I take photos at, or spend hours wandering around, etc. 100L an hour works for my budget as a rule of thumb for my personal situation.

Bring back Ratings!! - A Proposal
Obic Malaprop replied to Coffee Pancake's topic in General Discussion Forum
I remember ratings and I'm not a fan of bringing them back. But I do like the idea of monthly/yearly/daily achievements. Wouldn't need to be premium only, wouldn't need to have a linden payout. Can be totally opt-in. Visit 10 mainland regions, visit 100 mainland regions, teleport 100 times, 1000 times, fly the equivalent of the circumference of the earth. Visit these 5 lab selected locations and stay for x time, Rez a cube, apply a texture, buy an item from an in world vendor, change your height, etc. (the opportunities are vast and could appeal to all kinds of 'gameplay') Come up with entertaining names for them, the data is already collected (at least for those who get the rezday stats email, I never have). Can even have special "first month" achievements as a way to guide new players to try out different SL activities. I feel something like that would encourage emergent social interactions far more than the rating system ever did. Especially if there is no tangible reward. -
