For Sale, Wellington Road-side 4096 sq m parcel, in Hauwai, amongst Beautiful Neighbors - 3,500L ❤️ -- Looking for it to go fast, so willing to negotiate. Although I am already selling it below for what I bought it for ❤️
LANDMARK: http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Hauwai/235/66/77
Relatively lag-free and quiet sim alongside a very beautiful Mole-built road. Ideal for a quiet home, a horse farm or a pretty landscape. I have de-rendered some things in the background on the next sims but otherwise this road itself is very pretty.
Keep the trees and grass if you like.
Take a drive down this gorgeous moss-covered cobblestone road.

Hi all I'm looking for awesome high-end looking Looneetta Boat Texture Kits. There are not a lot on Marketplace, can anyone recommend me some places to look in world?
I am in particular looking for this nice looking one I ran into the other day, I accidentally messaged the creator and didn't check enough to see who really owned the boat. Does anyone know who made this paint job?

I too have had a lot of issues last few weeks with Blake Sea crossings with sailing, on any boat. I'm trying be positive and after 1 or two crashes, if I really want to to sail the Blake Sea I just use a Rez Zone...or I just use one of the smaller waterways

What a beautiful place and not far from the LCC parcel in Sanchon.
@Prokofy did a great job!!! Ooh what is LCC?
@animats check it out =D my decorator did a great job and only spent 166 of my prims!!! At first we tried a deck but it extended too much into the canal, we went with cliffs and ladders and it looks good!
@VenKellie I think Prokofy loves Mainland and is why he is expressing his opinion ❤️

You really made the pale stone ground texture work for your place with all those light coloured bushes etc. Nice!
@Ingrid Ingersoll Thank you so much!! I enjoyed it...I switched things around lately, made it more open to be ready to be shared with a friend for a new project, in this place are waterfalls ❤️❤️

Send a message to Asadora=D She sent me an NC to fill out. Can't wait to deco my land for this!

@animats my house on Alloy has river (if you can get down the cliff) and road access. I've struggled with it and ended up hiring a "pro" decorator to help me solve the cliff problem. Stay tuned for pics for that. I am hoping it will be magical! For the road access I specifically didn't build a driveway as I was going for the cute garden overgrown look but I smoothed out my land and made my mesh land on top blend in with the terrain
One thing which I like about Trompe Loiells work is that she has builds suitable for all land types. I understand now why small homes are so popular....most mainland can only support those small homes. I also see now the value of some older Builder's Box builds which were built on stilts.

I got this chart playing around with the Mainland census numbers from the beginning of this year. They don't help us understand any trends -- they're just a single snapshot from before Bellisseria -- but they're kind of interesting. The largest of Mainland's "Big Eight" holds about eighty full regions and almost nothing smaller than a full region. The second and third largest owners also hold relatively few very large parcels. These are presumably (stacked) nearly region-scale rentals. In contrast, the sixth, seventh, and eighth largest owners use much smaller parcels; they may still be renting them out, but some will be plausibly sized for sale, too. In short, the very largest Mainland barons must be landlords; flippers are further down the list.
Who are the Mainland's big 8?

Matty, can you show me an "acceptable" region on Mainland? I've looked many times. The land looks like a mix of SL 2006 and Teengrid.
Are there any "worth living" areas? I'm curious. IM me inworld, I'd really like to see.
Bay City and Storybook Heights. I currently also rent at Faracity, which is a beautiful ocean neighborhood. There's so many little good places, you just have to look!

yes that was me. Prokofy sent me a IM to say was ok to donate my whole spare 6 tiers to the society
i put here what the 6 tiers donation is about for anyone else in the same situation
on Premium we get 1024m tier allowance. When we deed our tier to our parcel-owning group then we can have up to 1120m land. 1120m land costs 1018 tiers. So 6 over which we can't use ourselves for anything. So donate the 6 tiers to another group so is not wasted
if we have a old Linden Home or Linden Trailer (512m) and a 560m mainland parcel then the total tier cost is 1022 tiers. 512 for the Home and 510 tiers for the mainland parcel. So 2 tiers spare which can be donated to another group
as Prokofy said in the IM, all these tiny residual amounts add up
Aye they do! And it's nice for you to donate your tier! I guess it benefits you also, save money? BTW the way you term it, as in plural, is a little strange to me. Why do you call them "tiers"?

It's certainly possible to give visitors lots of warning and make any action contingent on your presence (online, or in the same region, or on the parcel itself, etc), and I guess it could keep track of how long they've been there when you're not around. The 3-4 hour threshold, though, is very long, so... squatters, maybe? I'm wondering if it's really continuous 3-4 hour sessions that are a concern, or if it's spending 3-4 hours over the course of a day, or... just not sure what threat it's supposed to address.
(In case it's of interest, for years I've used a little script I wrote that never interacts with the "intruder" itself but does inform me if anybody is present on my parcel whenever I'm in the same region. Then I can greet them, tell them to keep their dirty shoes off the couch, etc., but otherwise they can just wander around anywhere they want, any time I'm not around. Even though there are many passersby on the railroads, they're only very rarely trouble -- but then my threshold of "trouble" is pretty lax. For example, if they're already on my parcel when I arrive in the sim, I usually just go somewhere else for a while.)
Anyway, I definitely like having different rules for when I'm online (or immediately present) than when I'm not. Unfortunately not every land property one might want to control can be set by script; notably a script cannot toggle the parcel privacy setting ("Avatars on other parcels can see and chat with avatars on this parcel") which would be really handy for this.
On the 3-4 hours- well I mean, I suppose 3-4 hours at a time. Generally I'm offline a big portion of the day, and I figure that's generous enough?
That script sounds good!

Ooh I will look thanks! Btw @Mollymews were you the Molly that spoke in the Mainland Appreciation Society chat yesterday? I tried replying but I think you went offline
-
-
Now maybe this title is a contradiction, but my perspective is this:
- In my private parcels, I don't care if someone visits if I'm offline; I generally have PG-rated furniture and people are free to come and explore and relax if they like
- The space 30 m above my house, and the space up to my porch should be friendly;
- If I"m online, I feel I would like to give any potential visitors warning before they get gently moved over
I'd like to have a system for my homes where if I'm offline I can set it to greet visitors and explain my rules for visiting, and then give them a generous 3-4 hours before gently moving them to the public sidewalk. Then it detects when I'm online and gives any potential visitors warning and preparation to leave; and also alerts me to current visitors by chat, and also allows me to truly restrict any walk ins whenever I'm online and to a very limited field above and around. And then the system is still very neighborly and merely gently moves the avatar to the sidewalk nearby.
Is there such thing? I used to always live in private sim communities where the group restrictions are enough, but now that I live on more public land and I'm now trying to engage in the beautification and promotion of Mainland, I feel that I want a good system that is neighborly.

Also introducing my alt, DiscoverMain ...Currently her name's Abelia, I'm thinking of doing a thing where I celebrate cool cultural names, with a secondary name for her.

Whoa guys lots of unexpected topics here. Peace and cookies and snuggles...?
Look we all have a lot of passion for this place, and we all love Mainland, that's what's important.
To be honest what I"ve encountered so far, also in my limited GTFO playing experience, are airports (that are okay, they don't look like the Chicago Airport, as example, IRL) and warehouses. @Vega FirelyteMaybe, I propose, that you guys do marketing campaign of sorts showcasing all the types of hubs you have? And also encouraging diversity of hub types? I would like to see more wineries and farms etc. I love the lower-level jobs of the game that allow me to explore with a GTFO out vehicle that looks like a pretty countryside bicycle, but I think I am the minority player, most people who get attracted into GTFO I think are into the freighting of giant loads and the competition, versus the exploration and neighbor to neighbor interaction.. That being said, there's a lot of really nice put together industrial-themed sims which I appreciate for how well they are put together, and they are very pleasing to see too, in a very city-oriented way.
@Vega Firelyte I would love to see the wineries and farms you mentioned. By any chance, could you share with us some SLURLs?

Hi! How active is East River these days?
-
I'm at work so can't properly reply but I'm loving all this, and yes I think the moves done for Mainland has improved it immensely and renewed interest..there are still floating prims under 1000m in many areas but there is much more love and much more aesthetic planning than previously seen 10 years ago

We Should be Working Together, Not Against Each Other.
in Mainland
Posted
I am not a fan of drama especially on a game where the idea is we get away from what is negative.
Probably most people won't have an idea of what I'm talking of, which is okay. But there seems to be one mainland appreciation group complaining against another (not mine, so I'm not upset). But this is not something that makes sense to me.
We should work together, and not against each other. Whether you are for general mainland appreciation or for more specific appreciation of the roads, or whatever it may be- be gentle, be nice, be kind. There is no need to be nasty, send nasty notes, and then have the other party cry and be upset.
This world can be kind and beautiful and full of positivity. I'm choosing it to be, are you?
^.^ In other news, DiscoverMain, your regularly published HUD for awesome in-world mainland destinations, is chugging along but slowly; as, after all, it is my project and my kind of fun. Still look out for an awesome announcement some time between now and after New Year! LMs of awesome places welcome ❤️
