    Hmmm. Factions never help in any area. We are all adults here, and I don't understand how things could be brewing quietly over at Belli like that. I love Belli too and I think it will, to me, not fail. I did not realize how much effort and love residents put into Mainland, and I am sad that such efforts were stymied in the past. I was around when Zindra happened but  was so busy IRL that I did not get familiar. 

    Just like in private parcels, maybe the way to go would be a 'light' application of community.  Too intense and you get the shouting.  The poor Lindens :( so much stress I can see happened, and can't blame them. 

     

    There are land barons like that still exhisting- I don't know how big they are as I am not as familiar -- but I am seeing really beautiful areas done up with covenants in place for aesthetics and behavior and it's because of the land barons.

    - Anyone can rez and sail off on a boat that is 45 land impact or less. The weird cement dock on the right is because linden protected land rises up above the river there. I had to put a transparent prim in the water under my boats so they would rise up above the protected land when launching out... It works and isn't visible, so all good... O.o

    On my home sim, relations with the other land owners are neutral. ZIndra folks don't tend to interact. Everyone is either running 'yet another badly designed blighted XXX club with misaligned prims and too much fullbright' or they're folks who just want to be left alone... :P My sim has no clubs...

    This image actually shows every landowner on the sim. All 5 of us. One across the river (directly above the 'Yang' sign on my roof), one to each side of me, and one across the road. It's a double-prim river sim where we can build +/-40m, but only 2 people put in basements).

    Wow just 5 owners? That's pretty neat. Did you get to meet them? And good job btw! Hopefully you get to enjoy some sailing too there...in my quests for land I discovered that some mainland sims may overlook the ocean but they do not necessarily have sailing (like private sims do, of course)

    And also here is a little rented parcel that I grabbed as well for the sailing ...the landlord is great about making things look good and all of  the landscaping and outdoor decor came with the land. I will probably swap out the house and mod some stuff, but meantime it looks really great. Pics again in Black Dragon.

    Come check it out as well as the neighborhood, it is a good area with some great builds and people who are sensitive to their neighbors it seems:

    The Non Linden Home Picture Thread - Mainland Only

    I need to start collecting nice windlights like @Ingrid Ingersoll and @RuffertasAlt and some of you other folks!  I have good windlights but they do not pop those pale green mainland textures. Do you guys have any recommendations of where to find some, or could you paste the links where you find yours to share? I passed over some nice plots of land all because they belong to older regions with those pale, pale, pale green mainland textures. I too have a very good card but on Firestorm these look horrible. I haven't tried checking out the land with Black Dragon, most likely they will look great there but I use BD and Firestorm 50/50 so it would be great if views in Firestorm can look great too.

    I just got the mainland bug, can't believe it took this long for me to understand what's so awesome about it! I quickly took over a bunch of parcels after some hard work finding what I wanted lol, I didn't want to derender too much.

     

    Will post and share my favorite parcel at the moment as soon as I finish haggling with the owner for the land that's right next to me ...but meantime, here's a pic of a public parcel, a magical Dinkie sailing marina, snapped in Black Dragon.  Please come visit and explore, I have some neighbors who made great parcels near me too:

    Bakes On Mesh - Releasing Soon!

     Also, I will say that high quality skin artists in the past DO line up well. High quality skins are high quality skins.  Here's my mesh av with a Curio skin ...note not with a mesh head as the bento head didn't do well with the skin, will have to try another bento head. But the body lined up amazingly

    Thank you for opening this thread. I feel Kat has been the most responsive...and that Grumpity has an attitude. Another Linden with kinder words might be better suited, the flippant attitude is not appreciated.

     

    As a general rule, please give us a 3 months' notice for any kind of fiscal changes...this impacts our  RL wallets, particularly those who spends hundreds and thousands.   I do believe you guys made the decision to rip the bandaid off instead of introducing changes with enough notice. TOS not-with-standing, it is common decency, and no one will care about what your TOS says if you treat your customers this way. 

    In one form or another you have raised prices over the last 11 years here without enough notice. Every time, unsurprisingly, we get upset. We are the living breathing people who make your platform worthwhile to play in, and earn you money from, and many of us make a living out of this. Going forward, please give us enough notice about new fiscal changes.

    THat being said, the new changes do not sit well with me, like everyone else. I feel the timing has been suspiciously close to the opening of the new homes, and that the changes take advantage of non-Premium members and force people to go PRemium...many people don't want to go PRemium and instead opt to spend in other areas of SEcond Life. I think it is unfair that you are forcing them to. I would rather that everyone have the same amount of groups and Premium does not get any extra, if that would solve your server problems.

    The price of Premium going up without increased value-add of land or Lindens makes zero sense and is unwelcome in such a short amount of time.
