He opened back up.
He did...? -lol, well- this is a separate topic not for SL. But I guess I will find the GCG group again and see what's going on, again.

Actually the GCG prices are monthly not weekly and I would not recommend anyone buying land in that grid. The owner already shut down his grid a number of times due to technical issues.
It's very easy for someone to create their own grid that can be connected to the hypergrid or not using DreamGrid.
In any case...we don't have to worry because Since the early days of COVID, GCG is closed down.

This community has been mentioned in an earlier post, but I went on a long drive up north (I come from the deep south close to the port of Promethium) to the regions of Keswick, Buttermere, Langdale, Windermere and Coniston, and took some photos. Langdale Seaside, or the Greater Coniston is a Northern English countryside town that has houses in all sizes from L$10 cottages all the way up to antique mansions and castles. Quiet laidback atmosphere with plenty of public areas; four ports and an extensive road connected to the Sansara Waterways and Linden Roads. Many of the houses are still occupied, and I remember the locals there being very friendly when I visited last year. I did not meet anyone during this trip but maybe on other days they gather and hold events.

Hi @Trinity Heartsong and allll! My residential community - Winter Cove, is located in the Snowlands and is currently in the works! I hope that is the one @Yukiko Yeshto is referring to! It is set to open in August. It was opened, but I felt it needed to be redone so it is! It has a plaza that will be across the street with stores. The residential side has a park and oh my gosh so much lol. I'll repost again the info along with the landmark once done. Thank you!
Oh i'd love to see this! Do you have a Facebook page?

It is absolutely the same, they are like in mainland on "protected land" check the worild map while you are there and you see that you are anyway connected with the "classic" mainland. Not in a private sim. For me is the best solution for community living not in private sims. I don't like the community in mainland because you never know someone around what can do over there if they buy a plot close to the community.
I have this view as well. Bellisseria is Mainland- an example set forth by Linden Labs of what Mainland could be.

I'd love an Asian theme- and not just inspired by the usual Western inspirations of Asia either. I'm Filipino and I'd like to see some inspiration taken from the tropical regions of Asia as well as the southern parts of Asia, such as India.

I put up in a ticket to buy the abandoned land that surrounds my parcel. Has anyone had expertise with this? Do I need to have my tier up first or can I wait till they say yes? Also how long does the ticket usually take?
I hope you got your land- all these awesome people gave you the right advice <3. Be patient- they're usually good about following up in a timely manner. They want to sell the land, so they will be happy to chop up a parcel for you.

I own about 6,000 sq m, on the water, mostly because I wanted to be able to park my boats on the Seas and and the other waterways. Really they're consolidated between two sims-- but I'm happy. I love my little slices of paradise

Listen. I'm not a land baron. And for the record everyone I rented from so far have been dignified and treat everyone with respect. But I'm hearing of a certain land lord that took over a certain<removed>
Observers, including myself, think that this land baron grooms women, befriends them, and pounces when they smell the slightest weakness and offer their sympathetic help.
<Removed> were not sold- they were GIVEN- to this land baron. When the previous woman owner deserved a fair price!!! And now I'm hearing this sim across a pink mountain, with an a tropical island theme, just as nice as this artist's colony, is owned by them. Instinct tells me the women undersold or gave away the sims too. Men like these operate the same.
I'm not in the land business but I am a mainland observer and land owner, and I'm not happy by what I'm seeing. In fact I'm FURIOUS.No, no, no.
The women owners of these communities were taken advantage of. I'm FURIOUS.
As a community, we should NOT stand for men who prey on women.
Dear sir- Yes you, you know who you are. Shame on you.

Not knowing about the issues that have arisen from the transition of ownership for Campbell, the disruption of the community, but independently deciding to sell (because I needed tier), I am so very happy that the Museum bought the land I had freely set to "Sell to Everyone," on the Laserlight Campbell Coast sim- instead of another land baron. My prediction is that the new landlord will chop up and sell, after he's done with trying to setting more things for rent, setting a new club, etc.
We can't focus on what should or should not been done (at least, a community meeting to discuss the problems and ask the community for solutions...but-- again, too late now) I am glad the Museum exists and my former home birthed a great place ❤️ -- It is a bit late now to do anything other than having a memorial to a once vibrant community based on art and love for beauty.

Hey Scarlett! I'm looking in the area, and I can see other bigger parcels on sale but not yours. Can you tell me more about where it is?

Additionally- all those nooks-- fill it with greenery, interrupting occassionally with a side table with nick nacks. I think that will make the space feel cozier and all the floor space won't look so strange. With the holiday season also, some of those nooks can be filled with holiday trees, and come spring you can easily replace with Dust Bunny or Mithral or Botanical hanging plants and pots. Oh and occasionally mix it up with art prints too- art prints with plants.

This is fun! Following though not sure if I"m up to it. I've decorated for 50L before, its doable to make a cozy place, but you have to be judicious for sure

I love that Apple Fall chest, it's one of my favorites. You're asking "What can be put better here to fill it more and make it like a "late autumn-yet-close-enough to winter that it could easily turn into winter" house?

On a cliff isolated from most views yet conveniently with protected road and river. G rated for peace. 2,864 square meters, 983 prims total...plenty of possibilities, though I recommend that you keep the landscape to help you take advantage of the river below.
$15,000L

Residential Communities on the Mainland
in Mainland
Posted
On SL- This used to be Storybook Estates but now is Hidden Hills- I think they shrunk also because on each side, the names are different. I haven't had a chance to explore, but it is well done: http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Kraken/169/150/63 -- it's alll the way far out on the other side of hte SL world but there's still some sailable water here.
