  1. Hi, I tried experimenting with shadows turned on for the first time and the results in the snapshots I took weren't good. I'm after a bit of advice on what I may be doing wrong. I set my graphics to Ultra and turned shadows on. I could see the results on screen and they looked great but when I took a snapshot, well as you can below, it turned out with a black background and the prims weren't visible in the pictures. Am I doing something wrong, is there a step that I've missed? I'm not experienced when it comes to photography but I do want to improve the quality of pictures I take so I thought I'd try out shadows. I'm a Phoenix user. 2. Marianne Little wrote: Can I ask if you want curtains that cover the whole window totally? I haven't had a home in a year, but I only had open curtains. I could touch the windows so they got "privacy option" and has the look of closed blinds from the outside. Marianne, that's a stunning kitchen design, I didn't see it when I first read this thread. The picture quality is great, it's so clean and crisp. Very nice. :matte-motes-smile:
  3. You're welcome. It looks much better with the stained glass. Good idea. The land mark I sent you has some curtains that would frame the stained glass nicely and the curtains are very versatile. You can change the color, the transparency and open and close them and they are low prim. You can also take some of them home and demo them at your place.
  4. Maya, I have a lot of curtains from when I used to own a house, which I don't anymore. I searched and searched for a long time before finding curtains I was happy with so I know how you feel. I'm online now, if you want to you can IM me and I"ll come over and put some up for you and you can see if they work for your kitchen window. Even if they're not exactly what you want, if you're happy with the fit and shape, you could always go to the stores where I originally purchased mine and see if they have something that better suits your style.
  5. Another place you might like to try is Acoustic Meadow. I was there tonight. It's a lovely outdoor setting, the lag wasn't too bad, better than most music places I go and the music was superb. I'm into acoustic guitar, indie rock, prog rock, some experimental and blues so I generally go to places that play that kind of music.
  6. I was at a gig tonight at accoustic meadows and at least 1/3 of the vistitors were male. Dunno, maybe they're all asleep so they look beautiful in the morning :smileyvery-happy:
  7. I don't have anything to add except to me, SL isn't about homemaking, maybe some shopping, ok a lot of shopping but I much prefer live music events and killing zombies. Seems to be enough guys at both those activities. I really only wanted to reply just to say, I really like your forum badge :matte-motes-smile:
  8. Alena, this has happened to be once before. It was after I visited the skin fair, I didn't try on any skins while I was there but found myself wearing the ruthhairfix when I got home. As Bee said, it's caused by a bake fail. This is what I did to fix it. I did a character test. After that I replaced my skin, shape and eyes and wore a bald base as well as a hairbase tattoo layer. Since then it's never happened to me again. Now I keep a copy of the bald base, skin, shape and eyes in a folder, just in case. I knew nothing of the ruthairfix before it happened to me and when it did, I came to the forum and found posts advising how to fix it, just like the advice and link that Griffin posted. I hope you are able to resolve this issue and are back to your old self in no time :matte-motes-smile:
  9. Hi Keli, I would have picked Easybeats too but you beat me to it! :smileyvery-happy: I don't know why but I sometimes listen to this on a Friday and sing along (much to my co-workers dismay). One, two, one, two, three, Owwww!
  10. Venus, you look absolutely lovely in this pic. I've taken a similar pic in the grass at my place but it's nowhere near as beautiful as yours. Maybe I'll post it in the do you garden thread :matte-motes-smile: There's been so many wonderful pics, a lot in the last few days. @ Tem, I just love that pic of you and Sylvia, it's very engaging @ Valerie, wow, the effects of the shadows and lighting look great and I adore the open plan design of your house. I noticed your new sig last night, very fitting. Love the poster you made btw :matte-motes-smile: @ Pixie, that's a stunning pic. The pose is lovely and the closed eyes, just perfect @ Maya, I do like your white metal braceletes and yes I do mean braceletes Storm, lol
  11. I wish I had something funny to share but I did so get a laugh out of reading everyone's funny stories. I should post a link to this on a thread I recently saw about someone being bored, I think at the very least, it would make them smile. Great thread Hippie :smileyvery-happy:

  13. You're very welcome Bambi. :matte-motes-smile:
  14. Hi Bambi, check the "Places and Events" forum and choose "Favorite Destinations". http://community.secondlife.com/t5/Favorite-Destinations/bd-p/FavoriteDestinations Many residents have posted their favorite destinations here, some with pics, some without and often giving information about what makes these places so interesting to them. You'll find the SLurls in a lot of threads so it's just a click away to discovering some great places and things to do. I've found many interesting places to visit by reading about them in these forums and I hope you do too. :matte-motes-smile: Edited to Add: also the Upcoming Events and Activities may give you some ideas of places to go and hopefully meet people to chat with. http://community.secondlife.com/t5/Upcoming-Events-and-Activities/bd-p/UpcomingEventsandActivities
  15. But where's the chocolates, one guy should be serving them to you while the other stomps out the rats :smileyvery-happy:
  16. That's a lovely room Valerie and I love that outfit, it really suits you.
  17. Slyvia, lovely picture, you look so pensive and sweet :matte-motes-smile:
  18. I'm really glad this question was asked and answered because I had seen posts by one particular user stating that Phoenix was being "discontinued" in a few weeks and I thought to myself, where on earth has that information been posted as I didn't see it on the Phoenix website or mentioned anywhere else apart from that particular poster. It's good to know that we won't be as sudden as a couple of weeks away but I guess I'd better start preparing for it, at some point. Thanks Deej for the clarification.
  19. Storm Clarence wrote: Going back to my first post, there is not a man in any world that would name a shoe: wedgie. Too painful are the memories. :smileyvery-happy:, ouch!
  20. I use Phoenix and I've never had a problem with the 1/2 dozen odd pairs of shoes I've purchased from GF. To the OP, Mayalily has reminded me of something, GF has great shoes that aren't as high as the shoes in the pics I posted.
  21. Thank you Sylvia. No prying needed, I can share.... unless ... they're dark chocolates, in which case they're all mine, all mine I tell you! :matte-motes-wink:
  22. Ladies who lounge, sign me up :smileyvery-happy:
  23. Hi, I second Valerie's suggestions re: Similar Footware. Here's a pic of another style. Sorry about the pic quality, I just wanted to show you a style that shows the ankles. The colour matching can take a bit of effort but imo is worth it. This is another brand I recently came across. The skin has lighter shading around the heel that makes it look a bit more realistic, rather than a flat colour. I think there's a demo at the store so you can try them out and see what you think. Pixel Mode: Fae [A] Khaki Green
  24. This is mine and a standing shot. First one looks like I have really really long under arm hair and that's why I cut it out of my profile pic lol. Great thread Eite :matte-motes-smile:
  25. Hi Mariah, I've had this a couple of time after I've used pose stands. I couldn't walk forwards, only sideways. I logged off and back in again and the problem was resolved. I hope the problems goes away if you do the same, if you haven't done so already that is.
