  1. Not sure if this also works in the SL viewer but try typing "dd 32" (without the quotes) on local chat.
  2. Did you by any chace mute the object? If so go to your asset blacklist and unblock it.
  3. The item you received may be packaged in two different ways. One is in a folder which is ready to use, just select "wear" or "add" depending on what the item is and what its purpose is. You may need to rez it on the ground. 2nd is it may come in a box, which means you need to rez the box on the floor and open it to copy its contents to your inventory.
  4. Your problem might not be similar to mine in that my problem is with the Kernel version. However you and I are on the same boat in that our ATI cards are no longer supported. If I am not mistaken the last legacy driver for these cards was 12.6 which only supports up to kernel 3.4 and note that Ubuntu 12.10/Mint 14 come with kernel 3.5 and there will need to be a tweak you will need to perform to get the drivers installed. I wrote a post here on the forums a while ago on how to do it. Otherwise you will have to stick to Ubuntu 12.04/Mint 13. EDIT: Here is the thread, you might find it useful. http://community.secondlife.com/t5/Second-Life-Viewer/Ubuntu-12-10-with-legacy-AMD-ATI-cards-to-play-SL/m-p/1739541#M16901
  5. Para los amigos puedes poner a cualquier amigo que no tiene apellido, osea aquellos que llegaron a SL despues del 2010. Para el libro pues solo tu sabras esa respuesta.
  6. Only way for people who are shy to meet people is to stop being shy As a shy person myself I can tell you that this is true. If you don't take risks and open up you will be waiting for a long time for someone to IM you, and if they do and you remain shy with them chances are they will move along. Just try not to be shy, talk to people even if you annoy them, the worst that could happen is that they will mute you.
  7. Si, es gratis pero pagaras una comision de 5% de cada venta.
  8. Ever heard that old habits are hard to break? I have met people inworld who all of a sudden disappear and then I come across them again in a new avi. Profiles are usually similar. The way they type is always the same, groups they belong to are the same, type of clothes they wear are the same. Most importantly though is that they visit the same places they used to visit. It isn't until talking to them for a while that they will reveal to me that they are the same person proving my suspicions right. So basically what I am saying is that rather than making too much of it and becoming a bit paranoid with the usual IP tracking stuff just consider that maybe your friend exhibited some obvious patterns.
  9. Well if you're boyfriend is the guy who was here the other day telling us he couldn't get an erection then my dear I am sorry to tell you that you were doing a very poor job during the mating process and thus you are definitely not pregnant. Please try again.
  10. I myself am stuck on 11.10 which will reach end of life in April if I recall correctly. By any chance do you have an ATI graphics card? What kernel version are you using? In my case I have isolated the problem to the kernel, the last working kernel for me is 3.0.0-12 which is the one that comes when you first install Ubuntu 11.10 or Linux Mint 12. If I update the kernel to anything other than that version I start to get random crashes. The crashes can be reproduced with 100% rate by logging into SL and TPing into a region you have never been to and the viewer starts downloading textures etc. I have done various tests to conclude 100% that at least in my case the problem is the kernel. I know that I can install Linux Mint 13 or a later version and then downgrade the kernel, however I have been able to do it successfully. I can downgrade the kernel but then I am unable to install the drivers. This has been driving me nuts for a year.
  11. Click the header of the chat coming from the object and then on the options select block object. This will mute the object. Also, make sure you are not wearing any unwanted objects. Best practice is to never accept freebies from people you don't know. Good luck.
  12. At the moment there is no web based SL client, not even a text only client. All you will be able to do is visit my.secondlife.com and message your friends from there. EDIT: OP would need something that is web based, so looking at the TPV directory there is nothing that will work for him.
  13. They are not transferable because the panels themselves are copyable.
  14. You can check them when uploading an animation. I may be wrong but I do believe there is a way to force an avi to use them through a script, if this is correct I do not know how to do that sorry.
  15. You can pick everything all at once in one coalesced object. However there are drawbacks to this that may lead you to lose some objects that are no copy or to be unable to rezz it for one reason or another. It is always best practice to simply take the time to pick things up one at a time. Rezzing and redecorating a new home is always fun anyway.
  16. AOs and gestures that animate your hands use the standard hand poses built in to SL. When you upload an intimation you are given the choice of which preset to use. As has been said it is not possible to pose or animate fingers, I wish we could though.
  17. Yep, as Theresa points out the fix is coming. Let's cross our fingers and hope for the best. I am also waiting for this fix because it is affecting a sim I like to visit frequently.
  18. Charolotte is not talking down to you at all. Have you done what she told you to do on her first post? Items which are Direct Delivery require a newer version of the viewer which supports the Received Inventory feature. If you are using an old viewer you will not see any of these items because you don't have that folder.
  19. Second Life RC Magnum: Magnum is getting the interest list improvement project. This projectshould reduce the bandwidth usage of viewers due to object updates, and should improve simulator performance, especially in sims with many connected avatars. This week's update addresses an issue where some users experienced high packet loss, leading to issues such as not seeing avatars or objects inworld. https://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Release_Notes/Second_Life_RC_Magnum/13 Scheduled Wednesday 2013-01-30 07:00-11:00 PST
  20. Don, I've been having the same exact issues for a couple of weeks now too. I also noticed the viewer ignoring the bandwidth max setting. I also notice this happening on certain regions and not on some. I agree with you, I rather things would load slowly but completely and not what it's doing now which makes some objects to say gray forcing you to have rebake objects all the time,
  21. Is this for Marketplace items? Keyword spam is the most common reason items get flagged in MP. This may be because you are using keywords that are totally unrelated to the item you are listing. If this is the reason, go back and edit your listings and remove any irrelevant keywords from your listings. EDIT: Took the liberty to take a look at your MP store. First Item that shows up is a cheer leader outfit. For your keywords you have used things like "skin, silks, cowgirl, pirates" all which have nothing to do with cheer leader outfit. So I suppose this is the reason you are getting flagged. Go back and take the time to use proper keywords so you can avoid any problems. *hugs and good luck*
  22. Autumn Jannings wrote: Thank you, Trying to be responsible and make sure doing all we can. I know I can't verify real ages. So will leave it up to Linden and make sure I am clear in rules. Wish there was a way to make sure everyone got rules and have to hit accept to remain in sim longer than say 15 minutes... hehe oh well. As for the goggle thing... Second life avatar names can not be researched only real life ones. My SL name is Darren Scorpio, I am sure there are a lot of Darren's out there in the real world if you Google the name. So how do you decide what the person's RL name is? Did they specifically tell you it? Even if they did tell you I can guarantee you that there are millions of people with similar names. The point I am trying to make is that "Googling" an avatar because you have certain suspicions is just a bit too paranoid. You have done ALL you are required to do, try not to be too paranoish and enjoy your new sim and SL and have fun!
  23. Autumn Jannings wrote: Hi and Thank you for any help offered. Have a new Sim opening soon. We set it to Adult and put in rules must be over 18. Do we need to do anything else to ensure only adults enter sim? Also had a few visitors on sim to get a pre-opening look over the build before opening. One avatar made us nervous so we goggled the person. It shows the avatar owner as underage. So I sent the person an IM stating per ToS if they are not over 18 and enter an Adult sim they are voilating Second Life TOS. Was this the right thing to do? I can't really prove the person is over or under age... Any suggestions to handling this would be great. Before we open officially. Very odd. Didn't know Google was now publishing SL users' RL age. You're right, you CAN'T prove the person is under age unless they clearly tell you so all you are doing is speculating. It is not your duty to verify people's age it's Linden Lab's job. If your sim region is "Adult" then you have done all you are required to do, it is implied that all people who enter your sim have told LL that they are over the age of 18.
  24. I used to have this all the time with my Windows install. My solution...get Linux.
