  1. Thanks Void, The train opensource scripts includes other commands that I would not need for a balloon...So I was thinking if I could crop, copy and paste it into my Ballooon code without adding another script set into it will reduce the script counts. I also have this idea if I could make it go on auto-pilot somehow, it will give more time for me to chat and take the occasional photos without having to manouver my balloon so much. Someone suggested that I should just make a phantom but invisible 'train' and linked it to the balloon so now it would look as if my balloon is moving along the railway track. I thought that was briliant,, hehe!
  2. Hi, I've made my hot air balloon with pre-made Balloon script in it. This script is modifiable and I'm thinking of adding values that runs along SLRR, LL Roads and Mainland's waterways. I've looked at Wiki but doesn't seem to be one in there for me to add to my script. What I've done was to dismantle the VRC train so I could read the opensource scripts but with my limited knowledge in scripting, I'm not sure which one is which since they've added other things like prims linkset and camera view positions. So I'm just going to guess here and paste the scripts part where I assumed were the lines I needed to make my balloon works. ((string gsSensorTargetName = "Guide"; float gfSensorSeekRange = SENSOR_SEEK_RANGE_DEFAULT; float gfSensorScanArc = 0; integer giTravelDirection = 0; integer giFlipRequest = 0; vector gvWaypointPrior = ZERO_VECTOR;)) float gfSpeedPrior = 0.00; float gfSpeedCurrent = 0.00; float gfSpeedMinimum = 0.00; float gfSpeedMaximum = 0.00; float gfSpeedIncrement = 0.00; integer giStatusPhysical = FALSE; integer giFlagPhantom = TRUE; string gsStatusDisplayPrior = ""; integer giRerailRequest = TRUE; string gsDisplayPrimName = ENGINEERDISPLAY_PRIM_NAME; integer giDisplayPrimLink = -32768; integer giLinkCountRiderless = 0; integer giLinkCountPrior = 0; integer giLinkCountCurrent = 0; integer giLinkGained = FALSE; string gsRegionCurrentName; vector gvRegionCurrentCorner; integer giSmokeEnabled = TRUE; integer giSmokeOn = TRUE; integer giDialogChannel = PUBLIC_CHANNEL; key gkOwnerID = NULL_KEY; key gkOperatorID = NULL_KEY; key gkPassengerID = NULL_KEY; integer giOperatorSeated = FALSE; integer giCameraDynamics = CAMERA_DYNAMICS_ENABLED; I'm guessing the ones that are in double brackets are the correct values to add? ETA: Code correction.... and this: *I'm also planning to add a //Die script or at least something that will 'reset back to installed location' in the event where the pilot/passenger gets unsitted or displaced due to lag or region crossing, etc*
  3. I just created a hot air balloon and I was able to fly it nicely. The problem is I can't see the land below me so it is pretty difficult to land on an exact spot. Is there a setting that I can change to allow my camera setting at a certain angle without reverting back to avatar position everytime I pressed on the move arrows?
  4. Hey Torley... would you mind sharing your setups? I live with presets... I hate playing with my setups when snapping something in action like below.
  5. Me too... *giggles* Cio always have something interesting going on where ever he goes! I'm jealous!
  6. https://my-demo.secondlife.com/willow.danube I thought it was cool too but not sure how far you could go by the Feed tab and if you can communicate off-world to in-world. There isn't a general placement/section where you could see live Feed from everyone on Second Life although you do have the ability to let anyone to post messages on your Feed Tab. You can receive Notification via email or In-world. You have Love and Unlove button and any URL will be linked automatically. I'm not sure about the character limits. I thought I could write a novel in there but maybe not. Your FB, Twitter, Flickr, Plurk. Linkdin, Youtube account can now be linked directly. Sadly, you still can't have multiple partners.
  7. Wilhelmina Hinchcliffe wrote: So I know what I want and I know that I need to reactivate my premium membership and then I need to... Buy a land! I did it through auctions but there are many other options. 1. Viewer search - the best so far since you can filter down to your land size, rating, budget 2. Search for it in Marketplace - use the URL link to visit inworld 3. Search for it in the Mainland forums (painful but you get to contact the seller and maybe negotiate) 4. Just tp to Zindra open your World Map and check Land Sale. This way at least you know if the place is near the road or water or inland. You could also possibly guess if the traffic around the areas would be good place to start a shop in the future.
  8. Just want to make sure... Is the owner of the home still showing your name? And you were in your house when you tried to abandon it? For your new home what ever you do try not to encroach your neighbour's land... and yes, that includes your tree branches. Unless your neighbour does not mind.
  9. Yes, that's what I would do.. I TP to the location create my picks while at that location and set the location.
  10. Thanks Immy... will try not become a delinquent juvenile myself. But the temptation is great sometimes... lol.
  11. Thanks so much for this info Liisa. I think I may need to clear that what I meant by anti-stalker was actually anti-griefer tool like the NPV you have mentioned. I read about the 'Reflect' function it has and thought it would be a cool feature to use but I would assumed it would use a lot of resources and may cause more damage than anything else. I wasn't sure if it would backfired at me and ended up being banned myself.
  12. Thanks, SirRoss. AR was the first thing I had in mind but I didn't think it was big enough of a deal since I suspected the person was a juvenile. I normally hang around in Hippo sandbox ( It's pretty peaceful there and plenty of teaching materials I can use) but the other day the sim was down so I had to move to LL Sandbox. I got nuked by unknown assailant quite a lot that day that I had to sit on the ground to stop pushing and working on my stuff in a panthom setting..
  13. Your spending limit is determined on your Resident age/month. Depending on how old you are, you can only spend up to certain amount on USD in a month. You can check this by going to your account website - look under Linden Exchange - Manage - Billing/Trading Limits. What I did with mine back when I was a newbie was to increase my Credit limit buy storing some USD balance to my account. This way I was not limited to how much Linden I can spend per day.
  14. Recently, I was looking at a friend's creation on a LL public sandbox when a griefer used a screaming Follow scripted object on my friend. Beside begging this griefer to remove it, muting and teleporting to a different sim, what would be the best solution to counter defense these kind of attacks? I've also been looking some of the anti-stalker tools from the Marketplace to be used as 'prophylaxis' from getting griefed in public places like the sandbox. Will that be OK TOS wise?
  15. Check these ones out.. go inworld for full demo. https://marketplace.secondlife.com/p/LANDSCAPING-WINTER-PEAK-Sculpty-Ski-Mountain/152220 https://marketplace.secondlife.com/p/SKYBOX-MOUNTAIN-SKYBOX/152310 or Just type in Sky Platform and browse through all the products and choose the one that fits your fantasy. Don't forget to check on the size and prims.
  16. Heh!... You will be exactly the kind of person I will search in-world and go land hunting with.. too bad I'm at work now. Do you like water? Do you like flat land? Do you want it on a mountain region? Or barely hanging on a cliff? or maybe one of those mysterious castles by the sea? or maybe on a snowy mountain? Or hanging castles? All you need is your imagination and any place will be the right place. Trees and outside objects will add up to the prim allowance so make sure your trees are sculpted with reduced prims and if you can find objects that has fog/mist scripts embeded.
  17. If you are talking about the weekly stipends of 300L then yes it is possible to live on it for your rental... but only when you are renting on a house. There are a lot of landlords that provides you skyboxes for rental and it can be as cheap as 50L to 1500L a week depending on the design and furnitures in the house. But as for buying and maintaining a land plus your own house... hmm... I'm not sure.. probably not.
  18. The cost of land between Island/Estate/Homestead living than Mainland varies depending on the size or prim usage you will use. That castle you are eyeing on is huge so I'm assuming the prims will be more. In this case, as Peggy said, you will need a bigger lot, more prims and higher tiers per month. You can easily find out how much tiers you will use in a month by looking at your account at SL website's. Log in and look for 'Land Manager' and under that will be 'Land Use Fees'. That page will tell you exactly how much it will cost you on tiers per month depending on the size of your land and the USD equivalent. This is however mostly applicable to Mainland parcels. So let's say for around 4096 you will be paying 25USD a month on top of your 10USD/month user fee. For Estate living you will need to look around and negotiate with the landowner so it can be reduced to your affordable level before you agreed to pay that person your monthly tiers.

  20. I think I remembered someone posted a list of name generator websites before. Perhaps a lot of RL first names has been taken like hot potatoes when LL launched it last year. Even my RL first name was taken and it is supposed to be one of those rarely used names. If you are looking for a new cool name, I'd suggest you to search for these name generator websites and have them 'translate' or convert your RL/SL current names into something futuristic or fantasy.
  21. Hi Netera... I have a theory and it is based on my observation and may not always be true. I find that it is not being at the right place but rather being at the right hours. If you are an American, you'd probably will find more American men in their 40s after around 9pm SLT. Why? Most of them are usually either married in RL or single with young kids. They'd rather come in during the time when the family is asleep and will not be bothered with frequent check-ins from the wifey or from the kids asking for something. So at this time, it would be your best bet to search for them at American themed clubs or sims. For anyone from the Europe, you'll find them around 5pm SLT and more. This will be around the time when these middle age blokes getting ready to tuck in their kids or kissing their wives good night but normally, they will only last about 3 to 4 hours before they need to rest themselves. Any Jazz clubs, Ballrooms, Pubs will be filled up with these men during those times and you would have at least one dance partner. In between you get the Middle Easterns, Africans, Asians, Australians and New Zealanders... but from my observation, most of them were under 40s and even younger than that. You don't really get to see many of them anyway. As for the ladies, I don't think you would have problem finding them any time of the day.
  22. I love riding in hot air balloons in RL...Today, I decided to enter the photography contest for the first time just because I'm so hooked up with this new features in V2. LOL!!
