  1. If LL got rid of all the adult stuff , Second Life would be history in six months Besides, what kind of life would it be without adult stuff, wait i know RL πŸ˜‚
  2. Ok, so $1 L per parcel has too many problems, what if LL built some more roads, cut out 4096's so every parcel is roadfront, then people could put in a ticket to get one at $1 L per meter. Two things that would also improve mainland, i'd turn off land cutting, thats already the rule on some sims, (no more of those pesky micro parcels) , and make a rule about no skyboxes below say 1200 M. Perhaps also, no walls taller than 10 m. If you need something taller, plant some fast growing trees. Get some of those moles off the endlessly expanding belessaria, and do something to make mainland more attractive.
  3. I thought that before too. Why does an adult game need General anyway? General sims are a waste of time. Ironically a friend of mine treats her G rated parcel like its adult, it's only a matter of time before she is reported.
  4. Its a good idea, and like I've said before, run new roads in, make all those 4096's roadfront (that would be 8 parcels, which actually almost equals the tier of a full mainland sim, leave the land in the rear as open common space, or optionally people can submit a support ticket to buy some of it if they want more than the 4096. There are defo things LL can do with mainland, they just need to figure out if it increases their profitability or not. 😁
  5. Looking at the world map, I've seen how big Belisarria has become, like an out of control cancer that will overtake everything. And all of it offering nothing to people that don't live there, just bland sameness in each of their themed areas.. sim after sim after sim. Some people like that though, they wanna be safe and secure in their little 1024 plot.
  6. To me personally, the price I paid for land is a sunk cost, I don't feel the need to try and get it back. I bought the land because i liked it. If I see something I like more, I'll abandon the land and buy the new parcel. My only exception would be my 2x protected in Zindra, and I'd set that for a quick sale to a flipper.
  7. Disallow land cutting, divide the entire mainland into 4096's, set each parcel for sale at the same price private estates set their land for sale, and presto, watch mainland fill up. People can still sell their land for whatever price they want, but who will pay it when u can get a parcel for $1 L. And I have no problem if flippers buy it all up, because tier is tier to LL
  8. Thinking of all the possible replies to these posts, but hey, I like my second life too much. Happy whatever ya got day
  9. Thinking about it, one way to improve mainland is just to not allow land cutting. Certain mainland sims are already set up like this. It would be easy to change permissions on all the sims given enough time. That would also solve the problem of new micro parcels and new ad farming too. 😁
  10. I'm sure you will make lots of friends 😁
  11. And they say second life isn't like real life. πŸ˜‚
  12. I got the answer to my question, and it was the answer I wanted, and expected, my ads are permitted as long as they don't mention adult activities. But honestly this all much ado about nothing. People act like I'm gonna trick them into visiting an adult region. For those in here complaining, let me explain something. You click my ad, it gives you a notecard, come visit my cool place. At the bottom it lets you click for a LM. The LM, as all LM's clearly states the maturity rating of the sim. If you take the LM, before you click on it, it tells you that it is an adult sim, so yes there are adult situations and even OMG furniture with adult poses. Don't do adult? Delete the LM, delete the notecard, and move on. Or are people here suggesting that some people are so fragile that to even see an adult LM, to have it in their inventory, will scar them? That is all, carry on.
  13. Yes for bad or for good, they need to leave existing mainland as it is, but instead of endlessly expanding belissaria, tack on new mainland to existing mainland, and provide the new mainland sims with slightly more restrictive rules. That could include disallowing land cutting, low hanging skyboxes, etc, whatever makes the place more livable to those that don't want a lawless wild west kind of experience. Belessaria might be a nice place to live, but who wants to visit it? It would be like going to a major city, but only seeing the suburbs. Mainland is truly where its at.
  14. There is no scheme, I invite people to come check out my place, that's all. Come, look around, then stay or leave, whatever.
  15. Just to confuse things further, you can rent mainland from another player, but you get far less rights than if you "buy" land on an estate. Of course, its also cheaper,
  16. Not sure why you are constantly dumping on me, unless its to get a rise out of me. Perhaps I should just block you. 😁
  17. That is why people go to estates instead of mainland. On an estate you buy the land for $1 L. Its kind of hard for $6000 L to compete with $1 L
  18. Would you trust a land flipper to release the land after you paid for it? I wouldn't It was just a suggestion, your way works too
  19. Well, if they are offended, they can leave. But I hope they at least help themselves to a coffee and a donut before they go. 😁
  20. I make it quite clear that the place is located on Zindra, so one could reasonably expect there might be adult activities also. Besides, if they have chosen to not see anything adult, I think their teleport to my club would be blocked anyway.
  21. Obviously since SL isn't 50 years old, I'm role playing. I rp that I bought a 100 year old factory/warehouse complex and converted it into a home/club/hangout. If I'm rping, I can't simply "remove" the prim, that's not possible, so I had it painted over. I also had a really cool memorial, but I had to remove the plaque, so now all that's left is a blank granite obelisk
  22. If they do create a mainland mk II, permissions could be set so that land can't be resold, and land can't be subdivided. LL makes it all pretty, carves out parcels in tier sizes, all roadfront of course and sets them for sale at $1 L each. People will buy the interior parcels to get more prims, or the interior can be landscaped common areas, greenbelts and such. People can buy as many parcels as they want, since its tier LL wants, not the initial selling price, and people can just abandon them when they no longer need them, because there was no cost involved in buying them.
  23. Planting trees are always a good idea, but it wouldn't be a satisfactory solution in this case. The flag w ould still have been visible. I had first considered sandblasting to remove the flag, but it would have been expensive, and probably destroyed the integrity of the brick, because the flag had been there a long time, 50 years at least. I decided to hire a couple of unemployed noobs instead to paint over the flag. They were really excited to get paid so much, at least until they discovered what the exchange rate to real currency was. Luckily they had already finished the job. The painting was part of a larger renovation project. I had to have the decorative elements of some of my windows replaced, at great cost, plus I had to replace the floor tiles in several of the rooms. It was all worth it though, because now my place is 100% within the TOS. Never let anyone tell you there are no rules on Zindra. πŸ˜‚
  24. Good ideas Marianne, it echo's what I have said. Make mainland more attractive, create more road front parcels, set them for sale at reasonable prices, and they will come. Why make people submit a support ticket for land? Subdivide it and set it for sale.
