  1. Yes I understand that part but was responding to the overall concept of wrapping an inworld object with mesh. As far as the reselling of another build that has been copied via wrapping, I would think that the permissions of the 'object' from the other creator should be considered first and foremost. If the object is not meant to be copied & sold then that should be honored. I would consider wrapping to be copying. Then we enter into the realm of who was the first person to create a 'chair'. We see all sorts of similar builds where A says that B stole their idea because the chair they made has a back a seat & four legs. I would think that common sense would prevail regarding those objects. Bottom line the word copy is key here.
  2. My first thought about wrapping would be the increase prim count by adding the mesh to prims. I have no idea if this is possible either but I've heard already that some imported mesh have higher prim counts than expected and also that the same upload can vary in prim count with each upload. The point though would be additional prim counts where a lower prim count would be more desired. Also, to wrap mesh on an object, that object would have to be rebuilt in mesh & adapted to fit object. I would think if you are going to rebuild the object in mesh, there would be no need for the object (prims) in the first place. Just my thoughts and I could be way off base as well since I'm not versed in mesh.
  3. Not a strange problem at all. Not all viewers can see mesh & even some of those have had problems, so I've heard,
  4. You would have to set up your marketplace under your alts name. Conversely, you could make your items full prermissions, then transfer them to your main avie, reset permissions to whatever you want, then place on marketplace. Saving inventory space is always a good idea. I use alts for testing my builds, storing full perm textures, scripts, etc. But, I keep my main avie as creator. hth
  5. Then you will want to do some research. I suggest you start here: http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Linden_Lab_Official:Wagering_Games_FAQ I hope that helps.
  6. What category are you wanting to explore as a business?
  7. Hello...nice poses. I just purchased a pose & received it promptly. hth
  8. thank's everyone for your input. I have heard so many good things about MS Essentials that I think I am going to go that route. Cheers!
  9. A couple of questions: Quoted: Can fund land rental for as long as the business is active, Is the funding to be 50/50? Also, what holdings do you presently have and are they? Lastly, How long have you been in the land/rental business? Thanks. Edited to add: Am confused - I read your profile to contact you in world, you are offline & profile says: words, words, words, /me quits Second Life. /me becomes devoted to OSGrid.org Anybody who wants to stay in contact my name on OSGrid is Dale Betterlife. Link redacted and Link redacted Did you quit sl before or after you started this thread?
  10. My preference is to simply go into busy mode or leave an IM message that I'm busy working & will get back when I can. Most of my friends & customers respect my wishes. I am usually not interrupted unless it is something very important. I have alts for building but use them for testing etc. The reason I would not want to use an alt for building would be the creators name as someone else has mentioned.
  11. Not sure if this is the correct place to start this topic so I appologize in advance if it's not. My IP has incuded virus protection software, FSecure for thse past years & they have now decided to change to McAfee - I'm absolutely po'd & would love some recomendations from others on vp software. Any advice reommendations are greatly appreciated!
  12. Do you have Prim Finder? There is a coiled shape in there that you could use. If you don't have, IM me in world & I can send you the shape so you can play around with it. hth
  13. If you haven't found it yet, there is a marketplace where creators in sl can sell their creations. I found this: https://marketplace.secondlife.com/p/Professional-Photostudio-100-POSES-Green-Screen-Studio-Version/1160085 There are many other photo studio items available. Hope this helps a little to get you on your way. Good luck, welcome to your sl & have fun!
  14. Well I'll just depart with the statement that I wasn't the first person who mentioned it in relation to something that would give control over to another avie. It was simply restated but I feel that anyone who has referred to it, have been obviously misunderstood by you. I appreciate your comments & fully...totally understand what you are saying but please know that my comments are nothing more nor nothing less than anyone else's.
  15. I appreciate your attempt but I never said nor implied that RLV has 'stalking' tools nor that RLV has forced 'anything' capability. You are looking at a tree & missing the forest. But thanks for playing.
  16. Sorry I reread my reply & find nothing in it that gives negative connotation to RLV nor provides any misinformation. RLV has many uses but is IMO the only other thing that can give control of avie to another. If that is negative then forgive my faux pas. My intention was only to give her a few ideas of what may be happening. But cudos to you for now putting RLV in a negative light.
  17. Your welcome. On another note, am not sure if this has been mentioned yet so forgive me if I`m repeating info already given. If this woman`s friend uses a tpv (third party viewer) some have functions to enable tp to anyone on the sim or region. Regarding the knowing where she is on the grid, if she has checked the map me box next to his name on her friends list, then he can find her anywhere on the grid. But as far as I know, this option must be given to someone & cannot be scripted otherwise. hth & good luck
  18. ITA - if someone 'new' comes to you with a need for help and the events swirling around them seem impossible, in this instance they are unless she is using RLV, then you are most likely an unwilling participant in a drama being played out for whatever satisfaction the person derives from this. I`ve ran into quite a few my time on the grid. I think they should create a name for these people - they aren`t quite at the ``emotional vampire`level ... perhaps `help untie me from the railroad tracks`euphemism. I should add that it takes a while to learn your way around the viewer, never mind sl. It never ceases to amaze me how some forget this when they reinvent themselves & try to insist they are new yet know so much about the workings of sl.
  19. When you say your tenant cannot make changes to the media settings, are you referring to making changes in the about land or are thru media objects such as radio & tv (media viewer). Also, have you deeded the land to a group via sale? Or are you simply 'setting' the land to a group. If you are setting a land to the group, know that not all group functions work with just setting to group. And as I recall, media was one of the functions that would not be accessible thru simply 'setting' the land to the group. If you have not sold the land to group (deeded land) then you should also research this as to do so can run you into double tier if you don't do it on the correct day. I believe it is the final hour of your current tier period. Also see: Land Forums/General Discussion http://community.secondlife.com/t5/General-Discussion/bd-p/GeneralDiscussion
  20. You are welcome. Just make sure also that you are the creator of the texture and you want to distribute it. If it is a texture with full perms from another creator, you cannot just pass it out with all permissions enabled. You need to ready the creators terms of use & if they allow you to give texture as is full perms then it is ok, however, most texture makers give full permissions to buillders to use in their builds. They are not to be sold or given away full permissions otherwise.
  21. If you tried and it won't embed, then the texture is probably not full permissions. Open the texture & look at properties - does it say you can copy, mod & transfer? If not, then you cannot put into notecard.
  22. You can drag texture to a notecard but it must be full perms to do so.
  23. Perhaps I'm misunderstanding you. Do you hve password or not? If you do not have password then I understand it will be impossible to change email addy via your acccount page. If you don't have password and email addy is no longer, then you need to file a ticket with LL who will most likely require you to prove your ownership of this account via your rl info. If you did not provide accurate rl info when you set up the account, then it is most likely that you will be unable to access again.
