  1. ...was that your intention? to reply to me? And you're correct, no penii here so ... tag you're it
  2. How can you have someone help develop the sim now if you do not have it yet?
  3. This is your first post in this forum - are you doing this incognito or are you just new to this forum? New to sl? IMO you are asking people for very personal info - JMO of course. Some may not mind revealing themselves to a stranger but others are going to be very suspicious.
  4. Yes this is most definitely the way to go if your budget doesn't include 117 prims or more. Another note, if you are premium member, you can get a linden home or a 512 with no tier. I suppose that's another route to go.
  5. I think the best idea for you wait until you have the money and get your sim, before staffing. Unless of course you want them to also help with sim development. Is this going to be a school with surrounding community? Also, you will need to consider if this is pg, mature or adult in nature. I also noticed that the other day you were advertising to start a club, will that be on this same sim? Things in sl move very quickly and IMO, hiring someone now & having them wait til you are up and running, is taking a risk that they will find something else before you are finished building the environment. Just a few thoughts to consider. hth
  6. Thanks for the info...I was totalling unaware of such a product. I'm still not so sure I'd want to pay rent on a parcel that is shared with other tenants though. There are so many out there that do not share that I'd want that extra perk but is most definitely a positive to know the ability does exist.
  7. Yes a parcel for your personal space would be preferred. That way you have all the land settings to yourself. You can rent or buy (lease) on either mainland or private estate. You should look into the different products that LL has to offer. You can buy mainland and pay tier to LL or you can buy private estate land and pay tier to another resident. Land settings also are different - mainland to estate land. If you buy estate land from resident you can have control over the land settings. But to have the same control on mainland, you have to buy from a resident and pay tier to LL. If you rent mainland, there are radios, tv's that allow you to control the media but you cannot change the land settings yourself. You need to get the land owner to do that. On the mainland, you can own any size plot & pay tier to LL, whereas with estate (island) land, you have to buy a whole sim from LL in order to own it outright. If you buy part of estate land from a resident, you are basically renting/leasing the land. However, you have control over the land settings etc. as if you were owner. Only you cannot transfer the ownership to another resident. Only the resident that pays tier to LL can do that. Land in sl is quite complex. But, whichever way you go, having your own 'parcel' IMO is the only way to go. Edited to add - for estate land, you also have different products: Full sim, Homestead, and Open Space. These are just a few of the many facets of land in sl.
  8. yes it's not pretty. I'm using PHoenix and looks the same but am unsure about other viewers.
  9. Nope thats the new Direct Delivery folder that LL just launched. Your marketplace purchases will go in there.
  10. Music & video are all part of the land parcel settings. So if all the skyboxes are on one parcel then the media will have to be shared. Imagine each parcel as having only one radio and one television. If the landlord were to parcel out the land, then each parcel can have it's own media. hth
  11. Thanks i think I might just do that.
  12. You know I probably should make a conscious decision to try to use the Alt left mouse button ... I have been told so often it is much easier. I think I'm just stuck in some old ways. I am also quite a clutz and still can't fly and sometimes even walk in a straight line.
  13. omg, am I the only one that uses the camera controls?? I wouldn't be able to survive without them!
  14. I have had some similar experiences with the mesh hair. 1. tp somewhere & my hair is sporatic, showing bald patches 2. tp'd to find my hair detatched and off to my side about .5 meters 3. friends on occasion telling me they see no hair just a blotchy bald base So, I have since stopped wearing the mesh hair. Just a pain atm to bother with it. Mesh clothes, I have purchased a few things but still am not happy with what I've purchased. Now will DD I have to upgrade to a different viewer so it will support my marketplace store and not looking forward to what is next. Mesh viewing of others so far has been good and bad - sometimes can tell its mesh because it just doesn't view well.
  15. I'll also wait til (and if) most of the bugs are eradicated. or ... maybe magic boxes will magically return??
  16. I couldn't agree more...it was slower after X St but since 21st it has slowed to a crawl for me - my PC usually loads at a bearable clip, but this is ridiculous. Minutes per page is not acceptable.
  17. wow, those are awesome for freebies! Never had anything like that when I started. Am going to bookmark for newbies...I get many at my money tree.
  18. I noticed this yesterday that MP was extremely slow. I thought it was my lap top so booted up my PC but was same. I am hoping it is just the glut of merchants changing over to DD and NOT an indication of how MP will be due to it's implementation. One can always hope ... Meanwhile, I give up for today with MP stuff.
  19. There are some in your inventory, also search MP. There are many promos out there of shapes, skins, etc. You can mix and match easily if you want to be unique. hth
  20. Sorry no offense intended...please feel free to elaborate. and welcome to sl, I see you are very new yourself, not even a month old yet. enjoy
  21. The best part of sl IMO is the freedom of expression that people from all over the world are allowed to share with the rest of us. I love to see such creativity and am often amazed at some of the things I stumble upon. I probably wouldn't spend much time in sl if everyone were to conform to a standard. JMO
  22. Welcome back! Some things have changed (new fangled: mesh), some things (like chat lag ) have not. Enjoy catching up!
  23. I still have some mainland, 1/4 sim right on Degand channel. Feel free to IM me in world and we can set something up as to a little rez zone. I presently have an area for people to rez their boats. hth
  24. Is this a step towards making sl a pay for play place? No more free accounts? Would certainly cut down on a lot of issues such as hundreds of alts for some players, etc etc etc.
  25. Amalya said: No it's a fact that avatars cannot contract, and it's a fact that contracts do not contain clauses they do not contain. Perhaps I misspoke somewhere but an avatar as agent to the owner of that account may contract but in the end, the legal entity is yourself or the human being. The other statement is redundant. Of course if a clause is not contained in a contract, it's not there. Perhaps I read that wrong but I dont' recall stating that specifically, although sometimes my grammar isn't up to par. Bottom line is that I couldn't agree with you more & have stateed much the same in this thread. Truth is, and in all fairness to sl players, a lot of people are here for the simple pleasure of expressing themselves. A lot and learing the logistics and legalities as they go. So in order to be a polite, law abiding, getalong type citizen, it surely doesn't h urt to give the creator the courtesy of asking should they not be knowledgable etc.
