  1. Well if they say specifically that your alt's aren't licenced to use then I suppose all you can do is ask. If they don't specify at all? I'd say that your alt should be able to use because in effect, you are your alt. JMO of course
  2. Not sure about this specific place but most of these app boxes, you just drag & drop the application back onto the box you rec'd it from. hth good luck & hope you get the job
  3. I'm not sure about this. I know one specific texture seller that includes the buyer's alts in the licence to use their textures. Perhaps this is a maker to maker decision. After all, you can put pretty much whatever you like in your restrictions.
  4. You might want to refer to your thread about not understanding how to go about buying/selling land in sl before you take this step. http://community.secondlife.com/t5/General-Discussion/I-want-to-be-part-of-land-owning-and-selling-business-but-how/m-p/1431655 The land biz in sl is not cheap. Tier on an island to LL is US295 per month and US195 for mainland. Just a thought...
  5. There are a few different forms of land ownership. Buying and selling for profit would be restricted to mainland or Zindra if indeed there are profits to be made. When I say buying, I mean buying from the land owner & paying tier to LL. For mainland (incl Zindra) you need a premium account. I will add here that since mainland prices went in the toilet, mainland buy/sell is really not a profitable biz IMO. Rentals would be the way to go should you choose to buy mainland. For private islands, you can buy from LL directly or buy from an estate owner who will transfer the land to you. This is done by both buyer and seller filing tickets with LL. You do not need premium acct to buy private islands. Also, the profits here come from reselling (which is really leasing) the land to other residents. You can also buy from estate owner but that is in effect leasing the land, & you cannot sell with full rights ie paying tier direct to LL, etc. I would recommend doing a lot of research before you do anything regarding land in sl. All land be it mainland or private islands, require monthly tier pmts to LL. Tiers also have many variables. Also note that mainland tiers to LL are cheaper than island sim tiers. I cannot stress enough that you research the heck out of this before you venture forth. Good luck
  6. They say No Mod in inventory but when you rez them you can see they are mod/copy. This is because the anims are no mod and in inventory your items will default to the losest permissions.
  7. Thanks...yes I believe network connection is synomous with ISP so makes sense that they would do this at some point.
  8. Thank you So am I correct in my understanding that this will mean, that the viewer a user uses has now become private info unless permission by user is given?
  9. I'm not famiiar with viewer tagging ... what is that? tia Rival
  10. I cannot stress how strongly I AGREE that this will greatly increase the workload of builders. This is akin to having all your attachments including your clothing, prims, huds etc. going to one point and then having to reposition them each time your wear them from inventory. JMO
  11. I appologize ahead of time if this has already been addressed, but I've been told that ALL things taken into inventory will go into this folder. That this would include picking up a build for example. I am a creator/builder in sl and I have my inventory organized the way i like it. If I pick up items from a build, they go into the folder & sub folders that I originally placed them in when I created them. If they now will be going into this 'NEW RECEIVED' folder, I will only have more work to do to keep my inventory organized. If this is true, I totally am against this as well. my 2 coppers
  12. There are a ton of tutorials online regarding making clothes in second life. Also found a few surf board sites as well. Just google and you will find what you need to get started.
  13. Again, what is your skill set? There are many forms of creativity in sl from scripts to prefabs, textures to sim surrounds, clothing to hair, and on and on... Also, different construction materials, software programs, etc. Find what you are good at & most importantly, what you enjoy doing & go from there. Then find something unique to create that sets you apart from the rest .... something that fills a niche or that others want & you are on your way. Finding a store inworld or setting up one on marketplace is the last step in the process. Your cart is not only before the horse, the horse has not been born yet! Good luck & have fun!
  14. Perhaps begin by listing what your skills are and what you plan to create to sell? If you are yet to develop a product, then you might want to begin by deciding what you're skill set is & doing some research on the existing products in sl.
  15. http://community.secondlife.com/t5/English-Knowledge-Base/Selling-in-the-Marketplace/ta-p/700193 You can find what you need at that link to set up your store at marketplace. You will need land in sl to store your Magic Box which holds your inventory. Good luck
  16. this might help a little: http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Advertising_in_Second_Life
  17. Another discussion on bandwidth that may help: http://community.secondlife.com/t5/Technical/Can-Setting-Bandwidth-Too-High-Cause-Problems-For-SL/qaq-p/698136
  18. Have you been running in sl ok until now or are you using this puter for the first time in sl? Also, what viewer are you using?
  19. It is sop in sl for landlords to not give refunds. This is prevalent and understandably so. I would recommend anyone renting in sl to avoid paying large amounts when entering into a new landlord/tenant agreement. This is one of the most, if not the most, competative business in sl. It isn't easy to keep tenants so the turn around on any rentals can sometimes be lengthy. Having said this, I again need to stress that what occured on your sim is something that can occur with any land owner. It's a shame you left with that much rent paid up front however, have you considered asking for the land back? Perhaps they would be open to you doing so.
  20. There are some things that are out of a landlord's hands. One of them is just this, where LL is the one responsible and not only you, but your landlord as well, have probably suffered the same losses. I make no comment or judgement on your landlord but I am also sim owner that used to have a land holding business. It's a shame that this happened to you however, it is something that most of us sim owners deal with on a daily basis. I would recommend also filing a ticket with LL regarding your inventory losses. They may be able to help you there. wish you good luck
  21. Welcome to creating in sl! I also make furniture with animations. I created an alt to help with this as friends are not always availalble. And yes, it takes time to adjust the poses. Good luck
  22. you show as being logged in...you may be ghosted. If you can recall where you were, you can ask owner of that land to restart sim. This shd help to unghost you.
  23. Happy rez day & many many more 4 years here ....
  24. Can you post the link to where we can find your company in world? And perhaps your main avie so we can see that you have at least 2 or 3 years in sl as well. I often get asked about where others can find work & I am more than happy to steer people to good jobs. Thanks.
