  1. You bought stolen goods. Even though your transaction history only goes back 32 days you still have a record of purchases on marketplace; you can go to your orders and retrieve the details. Valentine is absolutely correct that using stolen goods is grounds to issue a DMCA. It was your responsibility to only buy from the genuine creator. caveat emptor. You can open a ticket with LL to try to retrieve the money you paid the thief, but it's highly unlikely you'll get anywhere with that. At least you will know better in future.
  2. From the picture in your profile (OMG - I remember getting, what was it, credits or rewards or something from other avis!!) maybe head over to the Free Dove and pick up a bunch of new skins and some clothes and hair. You should be able to find styles that are similar to your original avatar's appearance. A lot of groups and stores have gifts out still from Christmas so hopping around the grid will repay you as well. You might need to update a few landmarks, and sadly many of the stores you used to shop at will be gone. The fashion sub-forum can help with new landmarks and suggestions if you have specific requests. I do strongly recommend that you replace any footwear that used invisiprims. These are not supported now, and most residents will see your avatar's feet through them, and even if they seem to work they still create huge 'halos' around the foot whenever it's in front of an alpha textured prim.
  3. Screenshots? Oh, in case people edit their posts after other people reply? For evidence in a forthcoming trial? Happy new year!
  4. Zoran mentioned that some of his products are 3D models - I thought that with rezzable items they needed to be rezzed in world to change the next owner perms properly?
  5. The only way to do this is to rezz each and every model in world, change the permissions, delete the copy in your inventory and take the new version back into inventory. Then rez the box (if your items are boxed) and delete the contentsand replace them with the new versions. Also make sure that any system layer items are also changed to modify if this is relevant. This can be done in your inventory, so it's a lot quicker. Make sure you include a notecard to explain that some items will seem to be no mod if they include a no mod script or animation, but will be modify when rezzed. Also make sure your customers know if any modification might break your items (for example, unlinking prims can cause scripts to malfunction sometimes), so that they can have a back up copy in that event. Next you will need to drag the new folders/boxes to the relevant folders within your Marketplace Listings Folder. Set the new versions active. Go to your store in marketplace and change the permissions information in the listings. If you have a large number of items all this will take a lot of time.
  6. Very well put, Pam, I could not agree more. Penny has made some very significant contributions to SL in a number of fields, and I always think she explains herself clearly and well. Of course, some people don't think so, and I suppose we will always have residents who wilfully misinterpret/misunderstand and get carried away with their own odd agenda.
  7. Uh huh - like it's for you to decide when Penny should stop posting?! She wasn't dictating terms; she was accurately explaining the reasons why no mod doesn't actually achieve what a number of people think it does. She repeatedly, clearly, and unequivocally stated that all merchants absolutely have the right to sell with whichever perms they choose, as we all know. She has NEVER called for a boycott of any merchants, rather she has simply said that she will not buy things that are no mod, since all customers have the right to choose what they buy. But anyway, YOU have expressed YOUR opinion, so I guess you can stop repeating yourself now too. I rather doubt you will.
  8. You can, but not a Linden home. If you are both premium you can both buy 512 (adjoining) plots and share the resulting 1024. If you create a group you can then deed the land to the group and get a bit more l;and without paying any tier. I don't recall how much the bonus is - I daresay another resident here will tell you. Once the land is deeded to a group you can join it into a single plot, which will make putting a home on it a lot easier.
  9. I would only add, if you set it as sell contents, the recipient will get a folder with the same name as the box, and won't need to unbox their gift.
  10. Open trhe 'worn' tab of your inventory to see axactly what you are wearing/is attached to you. The animation override or AO as they are usually known, is a scripted HUD that offers better walk options and an assortment of stands and sits. The default SL walk is more of a waddle You will in time probbaly want to get a better AO than the free onbes included with the starter avatars.
  11. It is sad but possible that you inadvertently dragged the folder to your trash and emptied it. I did this a few years back with a huge folder of textures and sculpts. If this is the case then your stuff is gone for good, but there is still hope. Many stores have redelivery terminals, and if you can recall where you shopped you will certainly be able to get replacements for many items. Even if you bought on the marketplace it's possible that the store has linked marketplace to in world sales via their vendor system. Also, for anything you bought in the past 30 days you will be able to download your transaction history and copy transactions to notecards to send to other stores where you can ask if they would be kind enough to replace your stuff. These suggestions will only work for copy items, but clothing is mostly copiable. Good luck anyway xxxxx
  12. The tank/vest/top shown in the ad isn't included with the shorts. The store selling the shorts is called 'RUSS TOP' which is why you were confused. Only the shorts are for sale there.
  13. If the hair is painted on the skin you cannot remove it. you will need to change your skin. If it's a tattoo layer you can right click and remove in your inventory. Please note: hair bases and system hair are NOT the same thing. We had a problem with this matter in another part of the forums. A hair base is always either: painted on the skin, or a tattoo layer, or an applier layer. The last is applicable to mesh heads only. System hair has a wig icon in your inventory and you have to be wearing one at all times. You can change it, but not remove it. They are nowadays only used for eyebrow positioning and are in fact invisible when the hair sliders are set to zero.
  14. Have you checked that you are on script enabled land? If so, try a relog. If it still doesn't work, and I'm assuming these are mesh clothing items, then it's possible that there is a script problem. I would contact the seller and ask for their assistance. Bear in mind that at this time of year a lot of merchants won't be around a lot, so you might have a bit of a wait. I wonder, was there a demo available for these items? If demos are available it's always a good plan to try those first. I'm sure that with patience and the right approach you will get this resolved.
  15. Generally when you buy something with a HUD you should use 'Add', rather than attaching it to a position you designate. The creator will have positioned it already. To resolve the disappearing HUD, attach the HUD again, and right click and choose edit in your inventory. You will now see arrows on screen so that you can pull the HUD ionto the correct position. To use colour/texture change HUDs you must first make sure that you are on land that allows scripts to run. Simply left click on the colour you want. To contact anyone in world you should first check their profile and see how they prefer to be contacted, either by IM or notecard. If by IM just IM them. If by notecard, create a notecard in your inventory, fill in your message, save it and drop it into their profile. You can save your outfits or not. There is no 'putting it in your inventory'. You have the item and the HUD so there is no need todo anything except choose the colour you want to wear.
  16. But... but who will look after your pixel miscarriage, oops, babeee while toddler pauline is working?? Also, toddler Pauline has a baby? That's ew and yuck. Oh yeah, there are next to no jobs for sl kids.. So, things you need if you want a job in sl: the abilty to write (type) clearly and literately in any language but ideally mainly in English. some sort of skills, possibly in customer service but also generally social skills. Of course, you could just skip past the whole 'get a job' malarkey and go straight to awesome mesh building and texturing and scripting. That only takes a few years and a few thousand real life dollars in software, then just magically acquire an outstanding reputation for high quality products; a fabulous advertising campaign should pretty much appear overnight and hey presto, you're all set!! How hard can it be, eh? Mind you don't get m*********e all over your keyboard now!!
  17. Clear your caches, relog into an empty sim (one of the water sims is good) and wait patiently for your inventory to reload. It will.

    Size

Sizes in sl have no relevance or relationship to size in rl. The standard sizes are XXS, XS, S, M, and L - not all 'standard' sizes are the same. Always demo. Additionally many clothes are made to fit various mesh bodies and labelled accordingly. Again, it is essential to try on demos. Trying the demo before purchase is the only way in which clothes shopping in sl is similar to rl!

  20. Groups cannot 'take fees' from members. The only way that a group costs money is if it owns land. If you are the owner of the group and have land deeded to the group then it is this that is costing you money. Either change the land settings and change the land held by the group, or get rid of the land. If this is in reference to Foxville, the sim is deeded to the group. So this is not a group cost, it's just tier.
  21. All at once? Sounds like a traumatic day Ok, first you'll need to buy a gun; there are many ovailable on the marketplace and most will have a hold animation. If you want to be lying on the ground holding the gun you'd do better with a gun that does NOT have a hold animation, or one wher it can be switched off. You may then have to position the gun in your avi's hand. Next you need an animation overrider (AO) with a good selection of lying down poses. Again check the marketplace and go to stores in world before you buy where you can try out the animations. You can also buy poses individually, which might work for your scenario. As to crying, you can get an expressions HUD. I think the AnyPose Expressions HUD is still free, possibly you can find it and others on marketplace. So, attach your gun, set your expression to crying and lie down. Job done.
  22. That's certainly the case with Lionheart, where I have my store. Good eggs
  23. So far as I know, the TMP feet only work with the TMP body, so you would need to buy that as well. It's not as well supported by skin makers as most of the other popular mesh bodies. The shoes you have might actually need the TMP Ouch feet, which are comparable in appearance with high feet from Slink, Maitreya or Belleza. What TMP call 'high' are more like the mid feet from other ranges. It would help if you included a link to the shoes.
  24. You aren't wearing a hair base. The hair you see is painted onto the skin that you are wearing. No system hair/bald cap/eyebrow shaper will cover that. They are invisible unless you set the hair sliders to more than zero. No one does that these days. The only map for a hair base is the head part of the avatar skin texture. If you make a tattoo layer hair base using the UV head map it might completely hide the painted on hair on your skin, however unless you are very skilled in photoshop or gimp you might end up with a rather strange looking head. I'm not criticising you, I'm giving you correct information. You do seem strangely reluctant to give up your free starter skin. You do know that a lot of hair shops give away free hair base tattoos which would indeed cover the painted on hair on your skin, right?
