  1. Oh Nick . . . his name wasn't, by any chance, "Kevin[some random number]," was it?
  2. Is that an actual avatar??? If so, it's amazing! Probably tough to clothes shop for, though?
  3. Thanks Echelon! Poseidon looks like a better bet, but he can experiment.
  4. Thanks Isaac. That rings a bell. I'll have him look into it!
  5. What it also does -- and this is implied by everything you've said -- is transform SL from a creative sandbox and "experience" into a platform for speculative money-making. Like so many so-called "metaverses" already are.
  6. I suspect that LL wants to be "associated" with the idea of crypto-currency, because it's the "It Thing" of the moment, and there's a cool factor, but I doubt they'll venture out on their own into this territory: it's not part of the core business. And, as Moe says, it would not be welcomed by many, if not most of us. I don't know that I would leave because of it, but I sure as hell wouldn't use it.
  7. I've never had a Picture of the Day (and probably never will, *sniff sniff*), but I've now been featured in at least two!! Sort of. I mean, the back of my hand in this one. It's a very recognizable back of my hand: lots of people in-world have commented. Really. CONGRATS LAUREL!!!
  8. Hi all! I have a friend (no, really, this actually is for a friend) who wants to move from his current Catwa "Daniel" head to one of the newer LeLutka Evo or EvoX heads. He would very much appreciate any suggestions you might have for a skins for the new LeLutka that look somewhat older -- not "aged" exactly, but not a teen or someone in their 20s either. He's been experimenting with LeLutka's "Devon," and trying Session's "Dante" with it, but he's open to using different heads, and any skins that people might suggest for a somewhat older look. If it helps at all, he's been wearing "John" from Stray Dogs on his Catwa, and really likes it -- but, as I said, would like to move to LeLutka. Any and all suggestions would be appreciated! He's a sometime forum lurker (which is how I met him), so he'll probably be reading the responses himself. Thanks everyone!
  9. Actually I totally agree. It's time to see more lovely pics!
  10. There's not much I can say to this, Krystina, except thank you, and I am humbled. And you've made my day. ❤
  11. Lol and wow. I wasn't expecting the screenwriters and novelists to respond with scenarios! So cool! These are all really good and highly plausible. Including, or maybe even especially, Maddy's, which is probably closest to RL me. @Madelaine McMasters -- You know me way too well. No, really. You know me TOO well. Back off, woman!! @karenx0 -- Ooooh. Sort of updated Jane Austen, but with an erotic tinge! I'm in. @Marigold Devin -- A little dark but good! And yes, about stories. I actually try to leave my pics a bit ambiguous at times for precisely that reason. It lets the viewer join the creative process, rather than being passive. @Ayeleeon -- Yeah, could be. I've been there, once. @Charalyne Blackwood -- I am sure he's a good man. And a little bit of uncertainty, of vulnerability, isn't entirely a bad thing, right? Thanks everyone! Fun!!
  12. The fourth in my "intimacies" pics. No idea what's going on here -- usually I get the story first, then come up with the pic, but in this case the image arrived unattended, like a still from a movie I've watched but don't fully remember. So, I don't know -- make up your own narrative to fit this?
  13. You're a sweetheart, and I'm really flattered, and I've added you to a codicil in my will. Thank you. 🙂 But really, they're just fun projects! Just like everyone else's pics here. I just have a different way of going about it!
  14. First off, for a first attempt, that's pretty good! Everything Cinnamon said is right on: you don't need flashy photographic effects to post here. This thread is about showing off your avi, not "The Photographic Arts in SL": even a simple unedited snapshot straight from the viewer shows us who you are, and showcases your creativity and personality and other stuff. So, if you want to learn how to produce finely polished photographs, great! But its really you we want to see, not your PhotoShop skills! Should you decide that you do want to do more "sophisticated" photos, I'd ask myself what kind of pics you want to do. A lot of people, probably most (myself included), strive for "realistic" (or more accurately, "hyperrealistic") images. I wonder, though, given your avi, whether that's what you want? There's a really awesome oldish thread that focused upon photographs of SL anime avatars and subjects -- if you haven't already, take a look through it, and see if there is a style that you particularly like! If you see an artists whose work you really admire, maybe contact them and ask for advice? Whatever direction you choose to go, it's lovely to see you posting here! I look forward to seeing more!
  15. @Charalyne Blackwood -- I'd say number 2, followed by number 3. But they're all pretty!
  16. What a really fantastic shot! The colours really lend it the air of an old print. Just beautiful!
  17. The loveliest thing about this thread is how many of you want to "pay it forward." Apparently Happy Moosemass is contagious. And you're all pretty lovely yourselves.
  18. /me raises her hand Hi, I'm Scylla. And I have also been the victim of a drive-by gift giving. It's been difficult, but . . . well, I'm just trying to take it one day at a time. Playing with my brand new photography studio backdrop is helping though. I just . . . don't understand. Why? Why would someone do this to me? What have I done to deserve this? (Thank you, Anonymeese! And Merry Moosemass to you too!)
  19. Thanks Marigold! I think we've all been there. For me, it's mostly associated with PMS and insomnia. (The PMS is getting easier, the insomnia getting worse.) And the weird thing is . . . I never turn on the overhead light, cuz at 4am that would just feel . . . wrong. So I turn on the light over the stove instead. (I resist the temptation to just leave the fridge door open.) I'm going to be doing more kitchen pics. I seem to spend a lot of my time in the kitchen . . .
  20. There is absolutely NOTHING wrong with your pictures. Some of them I will never forget. But thank you!
  21. The Midnight Feast (or The Consolation of Ice Cream, depending on how positive you're feeling)
  22. If Saskia had MADE you stand in front carrying a Krampus doll and wearing that sweater, you'd be "camera shy" too. 🤥
