  1. Aww, thanks Marigold. You're a sweetie! ❤️ You're quite right, it doesn't matter. Which is why I've only responded to her twice, both in IM: to facetiously thank her for the link to the first video, and, after she spammed my Flickr and started IMing members of the SLLUFN, to let her know that I was muting, blocking, and banning from the the SLLU groups and land. The only place I've talked about her publicly is here, and this second time only in response to Rob's question. She's a troll who literally begs at the end of her video for people to comment (no one has), and you don't feed trolls. As for her views -- well, I didn't initially eject her from the group and ban her because she has a right to those. But I've been "doing feminism" in SL for 14+ years (and longer in RL): I don't require the approval of a foul-mouthed semi-literate YouTube troll with 14 subscribers. And, as it happens, the exhibit has been much more successful than I had even hoped. We got a lovely review from Inara Pey a couple of days ago. So, it's all good, and I'm happy!
  2. This was a test shot I did at @Suki Blossom's newly renovated region, Black Atoll. She's German, but weirdly the whole place reminds me so much of beaches around the Great Lakes here in Ontario that it feels like a nostalgia trip visiting. And so, needless to say, I'll be taking other pics!
  3. lol, no. None of those things. I've never run across this person before. She is a self-described "anti-woke" woman who has decided that the Left has gone "too far." She thought the art itself was bad, and that an exhibition on empowerment and the positivity of womanhood was too "politically correct." In fact, she suggested that I, and everyone in the SLLU Feminist Network (which has been in operation since 2007) must clearly be men IRL, because a woman would never (she says) take that kind of approach. (One of her own Flickr pieces is a poorly-executed pic of her holding a fetus suspended from a coat hanger.) So, she produced no less than two nearly 10 minute YouTube videos savaging both me and the exhibition (but mostly me, and in the case of the second video, a DJ friend who she's decided wasn't sufficiently attentive to her); they are jam-packed with obscenity and slurs, including the "f" slur (the one used to insult gay men) and the "r" word (the one that compares people with those suffering from Downs Syndrome). Her second video is also, or was, explicitly transphobic: she hates "men in dresses" trying to get into women's prisons, etc. Her first video must have received a warning or been briefly hidden by YouTube, and she decided (incorrectly) that I must have reported it, so she then spammed my Flickr account with posts "accusing" me of being a man IRL, and hating "free speech," and contacted at least one of the members of the SLLU Feminist Network to complain about me. The second video -- which I also did not report -- was actually removed by YouTube for bullying and harassment. She's a troll.
  4. I just nearly backed into a bit of forum drama on another thread by accident, because I was reading the thread backwards. And what I initially thought was a good-humoured joke . . . wasn't. 😱 Lesson learned. Always read from front to back.
  5. I do a fair number of photos with friends, but I also use a lot of "photography alts" -- alternate looks that I can use for additional figures in photos. This is my most recent -- "Beth." I think she looks rather sweet. And a whole lot more spry than me.
  6. Your avi always looks gorgeous, Emma, but this is stunning.
  7. oooooh What's the poncho thing you're wearing, Claire?
  8. My legal defence team is requesting a subpoena and warrant for his body cam footage.
  9. Yes! I tried saving an outfit a couple of hours ago, and the system seems fully functional once again. Yay!
  10. Yes, that's it, of course. My post count was getting a bit low, and my street cred was seriously suffering. 😏 The forums are, in part, here to help people with issues. And, by gosh, they DID! Including you, Belinda! So thank you!
  11. So, update. A restart seems to have fixed most of the problem. I can now save outfits as outfits again. It's still a bit borked: it doesn't show the name of the outfit I'm editing. But I can live with that. Thanks everyone!
  12. Yeah. I addition to the visual contrast (and the way that the colour changes the focus of the pic), the difference underlines the distinction between the "fictional" (i.e., the movie, which was of course shot in B&W) and the (*coughs*) "real" -- my avatar watching the movie. The "engagement" of the second with the first, crossing that boundary, is part of the story. So I think thematically, were I ever to do something with this pic (which probably I won't), I'd definitely retain the colour.
  13. So, last night, an issue developed with my ability to edit and save "outfits," as per the usual procedure for doing this. When I try to edit an existing outfit or create a new one, the "Appearance" box, first of all, doesn't read the name of the outfit I'm currently wearing and editing: it lists it as "No Outfit." And when I edit it and "Save as," with a new name, it doesn't produce a new outfit folder (the ones with the coat hanger in a folder icon). Instead, it creates a new regular folder containing links to all of my layers and attachments within the Outfits folder. In other words, it's saving it where it should be saved, but not as an actual outfit. I experience the same problem with my alts, so it's not my account. I've tried it on two different viewers, so it's not my viewers. And, when I go to a sandbox to do it, Appearance works fine: it saves a proper outfit. So it appears to be region-related. It's also not just my parcel: I can't make new outfits in the same region on Linden protected land either (in the case, the SLRR on Heterocera Atoll) So . . . ask for a region restart? Ideas?
  14. Actually . . . I've just remembered that I have a La Dolce Vita pic -- sort of -- I once took. I never did anything with it -- this is literally raw, not even cropped -- but it was meant, at some level I think, to represent my sense of connection with the character of Maddalena.
  15. One of my favourite scenes from one of my favourite movies (although I much prefer Anouk Aimée's character, and actually think she's more beautiful and glamorous). I have a pic of Sylvia wading through the fountain that goes up wherever I have an SL home. I first put it up in 2009 -- it goes where I go.
