What behavior do you find off-putting?
Phil Deakins replied to Robberinthemuseum's topic in General Discussion Forum
I'm not willing to travel internationally, whether or not for papers, but I'm happy to be an online boyfriend -

What behavior do you find off-putting?
Phil Deakins replied to Robberinthemuseum's topic in General Discussion Forum
Considering the rarity of me logging in, I don't think so. There is someone who I consider to be a good SL friend but it's just here in the forum. We've never met inworld. So I don't think that counts. -

Hi did say that and, since I rarely leave mine even on the occasions when I actually log in, which are rare these days, he and I would never be friends. -

Yes it counts. You never leave the ground and I never leave my skybox, so we can't be friends. -

List ALL sims without having to type keywords.
Phil Deakins replied to Midnoot's topic in General Discussion Forum
Many many moons ago, a Linden explained the different meanings of those words as LL considers them:- a sim is 256x256 piece. A region is one or more sims. That makes a LOT of sense. Unfortunately, those excellent definitions have been abandoned, and now those words have become interchangeable to describe a 256x256. -

Oh, ok. I stand corrected I don't remember the full details but do remember making a mistake in the past and ending up paying for more tier than I had land for. I do know that the tier level in my account was higher than the land I had after I'd got rid of some that took me to the next lower tier level, and that I was still paying the higher tier level until I noticed and changed it down in my account.

If you're downgrading (reducing) the amount of land you own so that you'll pay less tier, you must not forget to change the amount you want to pay tier on in your account. Just abandoning land to go down a tier level doesn't reduce the tier you'll continue paying. That has to be done manually in your account. That's not necessary if you're downgrading your account to Basic, but it is necessary of you're downgrading your account to one that can still own land; i.e. Premium or Plus.

There is (or was) a rally that did exactly that. 16 (a resident) introduced the forum to it many years ago. Starchild Rally? Something like that. The idea was to get as far as you could in the provided vehicle that could cross water and land, choosing any route you wanted. It wasn't just a case of negotiating security devices and ban lines, but it was also not falling foul of sim crossings. The final part of the furthest reaches was incredibly fraught with dangerous ban lines and narrow channels through them. Only 2 or 3 of us made it at that time. These days the possible maximum is greatly extended due to the creation of Belliseria.
