You might do some system testing the old PC might be on her last legs. Does your hard drive make noise? Do you have memory testing software? At the least run a check disk. I'd check the events in your OS for errors in the hardware.
-
Reinstall the viewer software. Do you use registry repair/cleaning software? Run a check disk on this PC. Tell us about this: "I am a student in university so they have ports blocked. hence I use a SSL VPN connection to tunnel through the connection and connect to SL." Would contacting the school about a connection issue be a problem?

Ask the SIM owner to delete it for you. (Laggy SIM problem) Make out a support ticket (Server problem) Do a JIRA (Server problem) Have you made too many prims in a single object? (This one's unlikely to be "part" of the problem but it is possibly a factor.)

I'd wait, it might straighten itself out. Some times just waiting is enough to fix many problems. If a problem lasts days then it's a problem. You might take the time to try out another viewer, as has been suggested.

World Map is corrupted, how can i fix it?
Faubio Alter replied to Wolff Giha's question in Technical
Clear your cache. Me > preferences > advanced > clear cache button (hmmm did that get moved?) -
In this order, try: Wait, sometimes the servers have problems, only wait a few hours at most. Retype your user name (both of them) and password in the boxes provided on the logon screen. Check the Second Life grid status for logon problems. http://status.secondlifegrid.net/ Try logging on at http://slurl.com/ On login screen take this path. In top left hand corner of screen, click, me > preferences > in the general tab, click the box next to start location, choose "show start location on login screen" then close the viewer and relog on. Now you have something new on your login screen. Click the down arrow and choose "home", or "last location" or type "Violet" (Any region you can remember will do, if you remember the regions name spelling exactly) in the "type region name" selection. Try all three if you need to. For wired connections for modems only: Disconnect all wires concerning your connection, wait 30 seconds then plug them back in again, including the modem and transformer. Wires should snugly fit into ports. These instructions do not apply to routers. For wireless connections and routers: Reset your system clock. see "help and support" in Windows for directions. Your firewall should be set to "outbound access only" for the Second Life program. Try another viewer http://modularsystems.sl/

Unable to create item that has caused problems on this region
Faubio Alter replied to Moj Artis's question in Technical
I suspect this item has been abuse reported. You will need to contact support to fill out or do a JIRA about the problem. -
my account billing information has not been updated
Faubio Alter replied to Davik Noe's question in Technical
Wait 24 hours before giving up. Recheck it every few hours. If this fails resubmit the information. Double check that your being accurate inputting the information, triple check it before submitting it. (If this is a gift card, say so, these have other issues different then standard CCs.) -
is there any way to know the internet connection is ok or not for second life?
Faubio Alter replied to rusho Trill's question in Technical
If you believe your connection is causing you problems contact your ISP for assistance. A wired connection is better then a wireless connection because the connection is more consistent. Wireless connection "drift" causing reliability problems and react to the weather and internal condition in the home. A faster connection is better then a slower one. Adjusting the bandwidth slider in the preferences might help you. The path is Me > preferences > setup > maximum badwidth. Try sliding it all the way to the right first; if this does not improve it, slide it left or right to the place where you get the best performance. -
Hmmmm, not having the appropriate group tag might keep you from TPing to a SIM but the error your suggestions is a connectivity problem. For connectivity problems try these suggestions In this order: Wait, sometimes the servers have problems, only wait a few hours at most. Because it's not there . Contact the SIM owner and inquire about it. Snapshot of Odyssey Island (6/25/2011 3:14 EST US).

In this order, checking after each one. Wait a few hours, this might be a server problem. Is your graphics card driver up to date? (You might want to check this one anyway.) Clear your cache.

I'm not sure how long this has been a problem but if less then a day wait at least 24 hours. You might attempt these while your waiting. Try logging on at http://slurl.com/ On login screen take this path. In top left hand corner of screen, click, me > perferances > in the general tab, click the box next to start location, choose "show start location on login screen" then close the viewer and relog on. Yes, contact the SIM owner about this problem. I agree.

Sounds like a bug in the viewer. You might try updating your java software. I would also suggest you check for a newer version of Adobe Flash Player as well. Flash is for media play, java is for many things in SL. http://www.java.com/en/ If it's a bug report it here: https://jira.secondlife.com/secure/Dashboard.jspa

As well as the clubs, some golf courses have a HUD that is used as well. They should come with instructions or you might ask a club member for assistance. Golf is fun in SL.

This might help you with your search; alpha prims are also called invis prims (for invisible prims or some extrapolation of the word invisible).
