If this sounds like something you'd be interested in, I'd love to speak with you about your personal stories within Second Life, your love for it and why you've decided to stay as a resident for so long. You can get me on Twitter at @davescook - give me a shout there and I can DM you my email address, or just DM me here. Thanks guys, looking forward to hearing from some of you soon Dave Most of the posts like this feel to many here (if I dare to paraphrase) as if we are rats in a lab, to be poked and prodded to see what makes us tick. Having said that my first reaction was that you are genuine in you search for discovery. But I would suggest you withhold your article for a great long time, and commit to a bit of immersion reporting. You could be right in seeking users 5 plus years in, but you'd be limiting yourself in actual experience..Veteran users and age in world is deceiving. I would also like to suggest that rather that having people contact you by something like twitter...you might instead conduct your inquiries by meeting people in world...travel with them, talk to them at the places they go to, doing the things they like to do.....the people here that have been residents for so long, the ones that you are looking for have lives in virtual that you'll only be able to properly report about when having traveled with them...or, dare I say, having traveled your own road.

I want this to be my dream home in SL. I also would need to know about the possible land size I would need for this house as well. Contact me in world. Mitchell Indigo Have you thought about building it yourself?.....could be fun.
  4. Musetta Fieschi wrote: But... Let me just make a suggestion, tiny, tiny suggestion. Instead of doing any of those things, make friends instead. My sl house is something I'm very proud of and loooove, when people drop in unexpectedly. They tell me how fabulous my taste is and I pretend to be modest. A good time is had by all. Even better, some of my best friends are people who have just wandered in. You'll find, if you haven't already, that it can be tough to meet people and make friends in SL. It can be kind of nice when they just wander in off the street. I do recommend locking up the sex bed though. That can be an awkward way to meet new BFF's. That is a fantastic way to think about it. Not too much harm ever came from people wandering into my homes, if nothing else it adds a little excitement to the day. Most people are very nice and polite about it when you find them in your home, no harm done. Two notable occasions come to mind. One time I found a couple had wandered into my home and decided to take a spin on my bed. I was in the next room and apparently they didn't notice I was there. I just let the interlude continue as I listened to them getting busy, and let it go on for quite a while. And right at the point it was getting really steamy for them, I ejected them both. Another time I had come home to my skybox and found that someone had decorated my walls with moving textures resembling the streaming code from "The Matrix" movie, and a note saying, The Matrix has you. I suppose I forgot to check No build. Still no harm done.
  5. Oh but wait..It gets better. This happened during a sim crossing. Parts of me falling off as I crossed the bridge. I'm a walking yard sale. I would like to have my toes back though.

It is no longer that he is 'more' than an enemy of the state; this afternoon he was declared by the U.S. Military as being an "enemy of the state." Which It is not the same as being on Santa's wish list. He wrote his own death sentence. There will be no arguments whether he can be safely harbored in any country... he is now wanted dead or alive. He can be 'taken out' in any country, state, house, bedroom, and/or toilet of his choosing, or he can turn himself in to the U.S. Military. And a Seal team will be dispatched to deal with this terrorist and his body dumped at sea? Good thing we know exactly where he is at then...saves all that hullabaloo of searching though caves and such.

I have a house where my feet sink into the floor on my sim...my feet don't sink into the floor at the store demo for the same house. It's been bugging me for weeks. Put down an ivisiprim over the floor...problem solved....I guess.

Where I live in RL, there aren't many, so thought I would ask in SL. : ) There are a great many damn fine wordsmiths in SL to be sure. Whod've thunk it, that a role play could be filed with so much grammar and spelling, and proper punctuation. Sometimes ya just stare in awe at the craftsmanship of the whole thing and forget what you were doing? :smileywink:

Helping save lives (regardless or race, creed, color, or country) on September 11, 2001. And you? Or are you just mouthing words? I stand corrected...Words are easy. Actions speak volumes...and thank you for that on such a horrific day. Let's turn the slogan for that day "Never Forget" into an attitude of helping to save lives (regardless of race, creed, color, or country) on every day.

  15. Storm Clarence wrote: Lol Jeanne. I know the url to wikileaks. I was asking you since you took such a firm stance and want to declare him a hero. I didn't think you had an answer. He may be more of a hero than the pilots in her post that congratulated each other on great shooting and declared that the enemy should not have brought children into battle. I'm pretty sure she had an answer for you. yeah...LOL Storm This is not a question about who or what should be declared heroic. Boudicca Littlebird wrote: or may be you have your own view as to what will happen. The departed spirits of opposing armies find themselves lingering over the bloody battlefield seeing for the first time with unscaled eyes the destruction their actions have caused. Two spirits stand next to each other staring down at their bloody and lifeless bodies in a twisted heap of flesh and bones where only moments before they fought to preserve their lives. And recalling those last moments of life, when blood pumped fast through their veins and lungs burned with each breath, they realized they had forgotten what they were fighting for. The two spirits lift their gaze from the twisted carnage and find each others eyes, one begins a knowing nod the moment the other speaks..."well, that was pretty stupid wasn't it?"
