  1. Generally speaking, it has been my experience that if you are a random nobody in big, well-known clubs (and I include myself in the random nobody category) thennnnnn, you have to do something fairly specific, often frequently, before getting banned. It is a good idea to observe the culture of whatever sim you are in, read any "code of behavior" notices they may have, and act accordingly. Just my experience, and I've only ever been banned once and I knew darn well why (had something to do with telling the owner of a male dom sim a few choice words and casting aspersions on the validity of his shiny belt buckle). Other than that, it has been my experience that you kinda hafta work at it...
  2. darn it, I keep missing the non-boring stuff! sounds like drama! Scylla and I discussed "interesting vs drama" yesterday, and I claimed not to want teh dramaz, but it is better than boring! there's a reason for fomo!
  3. Genus Classic here, so becoming an outlier here as well. Sigh. I liked my AK head until I just got so tired of nothing being available. Genus was hot at the time and lo and behold, I could smoosh the heck out of it and get the look I want. And the world was wide open for the options. Sigh...
  4. I guess this is one blessing of the good desktop dying a dramatic death, and having to replace with a very mediocre laptop: I can't run around with LOD 4. For daily running around now my graphics are set pretty low. I'm now just starting to hold my breath to take limited photos, concentrating on an incredibly short draw distance. I thought I told you guys to keep this stuff in the other thread! /me eyes the delrin cane for some corrective action
  5. 1) I have the same set, in the same colors of those Oubliette shoes 2) I got tired reading your very organized system. Will you adopt me? 3) However, this system just gave me reason #892 why I only have one body. Will only have one body. I'm gonna die in this avatar body. When clothes come in a folder for 100 different bodies, I pluck out the one for Lara. That's what I see. Sometimes I delete the others, but I get itchy, even though "other body" ain't happening, what if I need it! (I don't trust redeliver?)
  6. I feel your pain. Griping about my inventory is a chronic event, and I do then go in and try to organize it. I make progress but it, the whole thing, has never been organized. Lately, I've been griping about not being able to find ANYTHING, and just the other day drove myself bonkers trying to find one piece of furniture I knew I had but I couldn't remember the store name. Easy, type in the type of furniture, right? "Chair." no no no and no. Your project sounds like a good solution and one that would take me to 2058 if I worked on it every day. I so get the frustration of dinking around on the set up for the photo that by the time you get around to being able to do the photo, you do have to go to bed, or you can't stand sitting in front of the screen for one more minute. I wish you luck, Ceka! When you're done, do you want to do mine?
  7. Huddles with Scylla in the corner with the other folks who skipped this class that day to go listen to music and possibly have adult beverages.
  8. This is truly a peeve, and online with the "derail" we're doing. Story time: I like to think of myself as relatively intelligent, ya know. I can play Teh Stoopid Card if I have to, and lately I've been having it dealt to me, but, basically I think I can navigate a myriad of subjects. I've been recently talking to a few people who are SL geeks. My inner convo is basically a running sliding scale of, "Hm. I followed that 20%. That 84% WTF??? -10%." I come out of those conversations doubting my mental capacities. I want to whine, "I know how to buy shoes!" Then again, I've had some convos with avatars who are 10+ years who have never heard of Bellisaria (I can't spell it though, and I live there). I can act all morally superior and know-it-all then, and that helps stave off the "OMG, I'm a blithering idiot" conversations I've been having with the geeks. I haz new hairs...
  9. OOOOH! LoL. NOW I know what slider you are talking about! :::facepalms::: for walking around 2. Photos 4. Well it used to be. It doesn't like my crappy laptop. But... that said, we probably don't want to turn the peeves thread into a 2nd LOD thread, yeah? omg. I just turned hall monitor
  10. Well, semi-ironically, that was my post. I said if it was a noob post, shouldn't someone define LOD and explain why we care before getting all geeky "this is the way to build!" I was at least told it was "level of detail" I haven't gone back to read if anyone said why I should care. Truthfully, and sadly, while I can do some things well in SL, I'm rather an average user in that I've never been motivated to get a PhD in SL and keep up with it all. I want to log in, move my avi, and do stuff without having to read the instructions. Even still, because I post on the Forums, and have done for years, I think I'm probably above the average user because you guys keep shoving information into my head by osmosis. Ow.
  11. And (poor me, poor poor me!) technical topics are out of my wheelhouse! I'm kinda SL tech stupid. It usually takes me 3 tries to get fully dressed without a screw up. (Oops that knocked my head off. Ooops wrong alpha cuts. Wait, why isn't this tat showing?) Can't tell you how many times at a music club I hang out at, I've gotten the IM "I think you left your head somewhere..." and they aren't talking about my short-term memory issues. So I'm limited in those threads except to type (and I have been), "What are you guys talking about???"" (LOD apparently is "level of detail" and is something I should know about.)
  12. Peeve: Housework. Full stop. I live with heathens! Oh, wait. I'm single... sigh. I need a scapegoat! Actually, I need a maid. Sigh. Peeve 2: Having stuff I wanna shout from rooftops and having to do adulting. I hate adulting. See, I told Rat when discussing yesterday's peeves was having no peeves but I would soon have peeves? Truth.
  13. PS: To me the reverse of boring is not drama, which I view as a negative thing. The reverse of boring is interesting chat, with an exchange of viewpoints, sometimes on tough topics. Agreement isn't necessary. Actually drama in that case is distracting from the convo, sometimes amusingly so, but... yeah. I don't need drama. 400 posts on Caspervend? Not so much. It isn't about me me me and my my my interests.
  14. Hm. Comedy is hard (true). Drama is EASY to make. ? Yeah, I'll give you that. "BDSM is abuse! Coffee cups on butts are wrong!" That always does it. Easy. But with the new rules it isn't QUITE as easy as it used to be... Because while taking responsibility for it is hard, it is EASILY handed to you via a little IM hand slap
  15. Peeve: Maybe it is just me, but the GDF is kinda boring right now. Gosh, wonder how that happened... [sarcasm font]
  16. This is comes to you via a Discord chat. A convoluted group conversation (of course! Discord!) led to this being dedicated to all 'the sad girls'... here ya go:
  17. Awww. Well, 1) I'm never long without peeves, so... and 2) while it is very generous of you to offer me yours!, I don't know you that well and it would be awkward. I can, however, point you to a nice, slightly over-flowing bin, in which to toss some of them, mostly good for the little niggling ones. Then I can hand you a nice big bottle of vodka (or liquid of your choice) which while maybe not good for while you are actually at work, might help after? Truthfully, I think it would help AT work, but people do get so judgey about that.
  18. Ha! Thanks. You quoted me while I was in the middle of an edit!
  19. I can't believe no one has said this yet: What you tell a newbie about LOD is... what LOD stands for. (Seriously, not quipping.) Y'all are rambling on about LOD this and that, but if this is truly a 101 thread then... someone needs to dumb it down, and that someone can't be me because despite being in SL 13+ years I don't know what you are talking about. (I probably do, but... not off the top of my head.) Not everyone is a builder. Some of us just turn our computers on, set it to default and go. (I can do some wicked sliders and settings when taking photos and LOD is probably impacted, yeah?)
  20. Aha. A PEEVE: Half of the time I look at @Rat Luv's posts she's deleted them out with just a period remaining. I like Rat's posts!
