IMGypsy, Yes it's perfectly safe to do. I encourage all my my tenants to do this exact process to make sure that they can control who visits their parcel and to allow them control of their land. Here is the information I send to each when they lease from me. 2) [CHANGE] THE PARCEL NAME AND DESCRIPTION Please give your parcel a unique name reflecting YOU and/or your Family or Business. Also, please remove the sales information in the Description and enter the Description you want to let your Friends and Family know what you are all about. Please do so now by right-mouse clicking on the Parcel anywhere / selecting About Land / and selecting the [ GENERAL ] tab and typing in your Parcel Name and Description in the... You guessed it...Name: & Description: fields. 3) [sET] SECURITY NOW Be Griefer proof by doing these few security changes NOW! Ready? a) Right-mouse clicking on the Parcel anywhere / selecting About Land / and selecting the [ OPTIONS ] tab. o If using the SL original Viewer uncheck the boxes that say Everyone on the [ Create Objects:] option line. o If using the new SL2 Viewer uncheck the boxes that say Everyone on the [ Build:] option line. This means only you or your Group members may rez objects on your parcel depending on if you bought the land using the [ Buy Land ] or the [ Buy for Group ] option. b) Please leave the Everyone option checked for the [ Object Entry: ] and the [ Run Scripts: ] - However - If your neighbor's parcel is unsecure then you should only allow these options to group members. c) Make sure the Edit Terrain option is unchecked. d) If you have your parcel owned [deeded] to a group, please make sure that the "Anyone can join" option under Group is not checked and do all the above security measures in the group Roles.

Jay & Joe, Weeeee - I love shopping! - Ohh this is a problem .... Sorry OK back to Anwsers. by all means open a support case per the instructions & link provided. Please provide as much detail as you can in regards to your PC and it's hardware & software with that support ticket. I tested the Marketplace with IE / Firefox & Chrome and it is functioning correctly in general. Adding items & Removing them is working, as well as requesting Qty changes. I tested using Microsoft Security Essentials and Avast as the AV solutions on several Vista & Windows 7 PCs both 32bit & 64bit.. Make sure that you do not have an anti-virus or anti-malware software solution that is preventing you from using cookies with your internet browsers. Also make sure that you have the most current updates and security patches applied per your PC and OS manufacturer.

LisaBoo, ...and a brand new feature of the latest SL viewer release from LL - If you don't have anything that qualifies to be in the Lost & Found folder ~ or ~ you Empty it, it doesn't bother displaying it in the Inventory View anymore. Who Knew? I missed the memo about that upgrade! Of course, this could also be a bug. I'm from the old school where it you change something that people see every day as they use any software, it might be nice to let them know that you are making it disappear if it's empty. Just sain'! I haven't reported it via JIRA.

Leila, As I understand it, the LL Server farms allow for many possible virtual server configurations and your regions can be reassigned to a different processor on the same server or a different server all together in the same datacenter. Back 2+ years ago when we owned 6 regions that were next to each other in the grid we discovered that they were being serviced across 2 different LL datacenters. After a prolonged cross-region troubleshooting session with the LL technical Staff, we made a request to LL to get them all operating in the same datacenter. This lowered the latency time for passing information from one region to the other. This improved the cross regions transfers for our residents significantly. Many flew aircraft and/or walked to use facilities located on all the regions. Problem solved back then. This may be a good place to start if the measured latency times are due to datacenter to datacenter communication latency.

Ashlin, Your Homesteads with all your teraforming customizations are gone. The server space allocated to keep them up and running has been used for other Homesteads. It might be possible that the Lindens have an OAR backup or a LL Backup of your old Homesteads Teraforming, but it's doubtful. What you may be able to do is get a new homestead with one of your old Homestead names. After all, in a virtual world, the name is everything. You can place it next to your qualifying Full Region. Of course you'll have to teraform the island again as you had it and then populate it with any builds. Matts info on the fees is the price you'll need to pay the piper.

Missy, Are you using the latest SL Viewer? If yes, Try logging in at a quiet location [i like "Violet"] and let the inventory rebuild complete. Because you had an inactive account, there is no guarantee that the last skin, hair , clothing you were wearing etc have been recovered. Additionally, your account information may take a few more hours to be completely restored from the backup archives.

Home customization is done from the web page for your home. Touch the security panel by the door and take the URL link to see your control panel.

Here are the things you should do. 1) Mute her avatar account - after this you will no longer hear her chatting nor see her. 2) If she is on your property, Ban her. Problem solved. 3) If you are in a place of business, contact the owners of the business and mention the anoying behavior. Usually, unless this is a clear violation of the SL TOS, all a business owner will do is ban the person outright.
