  1. Mircallah, Your Graphics Card & Viewer are having a tough time playing together. Please edit this post and include the details of your PC, Graphics Card and which viewers you are using. The community will be able to advise you more readily afterwards. FYI - Do know that no one is sabotaging your viewer to force you to change to a another version. Also - are you getting the Blue Screen of Death type of shutdown or just a PC restart? You need to make sure that your PC & OS has all their most current updates & patches in place. Also make sure you are using the latest drivers for your video card. The common card links are below [Thanks go to to my daughter for this information]: NVIDIA http://www.nvidia.com/Download/indexsg.aspx?lang=en-us AMD/ATI http://support.amd.com/us/gpudownload/Pages/index.aspx INTEL HD http://downloadcenter.intel.com/SearchResult.aspx?lang=eng&ProductFamily=Graphics&ProductLine=Deskto... Also, make sure if you have a "on the mother board" graphics chip set, that you have the latest hardware and chip set updates from your PC Manufacturer's Support Web Site. DELL http://www.dell.com/support/drivers/us/en/19/DriversHome/ HP http://www8.hp.com/us/en/support-drivers.html ALIENWare http://support.alienware.com/Support_Pages/Restricted_Pages/driver_downloads.aspx GATEWAY http://support.gateway.com/us/en/product/default.aspx ASUS http://support.asus.com/ServiceHome.aspx?SLanguage=en Toshiba http://www.csd.toshiba.com/cgi-bin/tais/support/jsp/home.jsp?nav=Product%20Support Leveno http://support.lenovo.com/en_US/downloads/default.page IBM http://www.ibm.com/support/in/en/ Apple http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2305 Hope this helps... Looking at your comment you have a GeForce 6150SE- nForce 430 GC which is a pretty weak Graphics Card these days. The requirements for SecondLife have been slowly increasing over the years and this card is a 2007 design. Try running SL on the Low Graphics mode for a while then step up the mode till you get to the level that fails. Once you find this level, back it down to the level that works. SL has undergone a lot of changes since 2007 and the more advanced visual features demand more from your GCs. Early implementations of Shaders and GL were not always the most reliable.
  2. Congratulations on your parcel purchase, If you are still having issues with your ability to return objects left on the parcel do the following: 1) Contact the Region Owner and have them restart the Region ASAP - If Mainland, you need to create a Support Case via this link: https://support.secondlife.com/create-case/ 2) Once that is completed, try selecting a single objects and select the return option. If it in fact "returns" you may do a whole parcel return of all the objects left by the ex-tenant using the World / About Land / Objects / Objects Owners / [ Refresh ] / Select the owner's name / Return Objects. It seems that Region servers can get jammed up with queued requests. This manifests itself as "stuck" requests. Deletes & returns are one class of these types of failed requests. The restart of the Region clears up the issue almost every time.
  3. In addition to Lindal's excellent answer, do know that if you lease, play, participate with others on a private region and have a resident to resident dispute, the owner of the region will usually be the final word on the settlement of the dispute. Linden Lab rarely will deal with disputes on private regions unless they are of a clear violation of SL's TOS in general. A case in point, disturbing the community in general is usually referred to the region owner and or individual parcel lessor however, documented griefing will be dealt with by LL. Private Region Owners may also have more restrictive rules usually covered in their Region covenant.

  5. TraciJo, Didn't we chat about this a few days ago? So now you can't visit Age 18 and older places because you put in a birthday younger than your real age. Really? I'm finding that so hard to believe. Well lesson learned. Just a reminder, you may need to provide proof of age with a new Avatar Account so if I were you I'd be telling the truth in regards to your birthdate. Imagine having to send in a fax of your Driver's License or Birth Certificate with another date on it. Don't become the Poster Child of the Got Caught Lying set. :matte-motes-agape:, I'm turning 60 next month and proud of it.
  6. Rickie, You wrote: "thuydienle@yahoo.com. About 1 or 2 minutes , I got reply email but it wrote : " Your Second Life Name is: Ricsky Westland" Have you tried logging onto the Ricsky Westland account using your password? 7. Snowpaw, Actually this sounds like your are having internet access issues and/or router/firewall problems. Have you read and done all the following: http://community.secondlife.com/t5/English-Knowledge-Base/Using-Second-Life-with-a-firewall/ta-p/130... http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Linden_Lab_Official:Why_is_my_account_on_hold%3F Also Did you buy the PC used from another SL player? Here is a unofficial link to a Video that may help you. If you share internet access via a dorm/apartment common router etc, someone else may have caused the ban and you are caught by it. Have you tried accessing SL and your account from another PC elsewhere? Have you tried using your PC at another place?
  8. Valerie is spot on... But make sure you have attended a proper drivers education class first. The is nothing worst than being run over by a new car driver. :matte-motes-sick:
  9. Dilbert brings up a good point. Ahhh - such fond memories. I remember a HUD attached object named "Here's your share of the sunshine acid" that caused a rather psychedelic view of SL until you removed it again. That particular object was harmless and didn't crash your viewer like what you are describing. In case that word is foreign to you... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Psychedelic_drug His suggestion about using the Metabolt viewer to "Strip" down is spot on! Let us know which solution worked for you please.
  10. The review for this GC is not too good http://computershopper.com/reviews/ati-radeon-hd-3650-graphics-card-review#product-review I use the ATI Radeon HD 3850 GC which is the gaming version of this product line and is works extremely well. The PC looks fine and if you have upgraded it to 4gb of memory or better it will run SL wonderfully once the GC issue is resolved. Still doing some research... OK my Techie Daughter/Gamer Girl who is up at this hour indicated that your GC is designed specifically for Multi-Media use [as in movies and video playback] and not for 3D graphics per se. She sighted this sentence in the review. "But for occasional gaming at low-to-medium resolutions, and for playing older titles, the HD 3650's performance is acceptable." SL is a High End Graphics product and needs both a fast PC and a high-end GC with 512mb onboard memory minimum. That GC's 128-bit DDR2/GDDR3 memory is what is hurting you with SL. A new GC is what you will need to get into SL.
  11. Ahh Thank you - I see them now. doing some research...also 1) LIGHTEN UP PLEASE! - You are talking to people here who do NOT work for Linden Lab. We are users of SecondLife like you and we volunteer here to help other users. 2) Linden Lab is not responsible for anything your PC does including burning up, not working, making you Pink or starting to talk in in tongues. 3) You are responsible for your own success in using SecondLife. You have to do all the work and make sure your PC is up to date on patches and drivers and fixes to all the supporting directories for SecondLife even if the software or your own internet breaks the objects in them.
  12. Traci - I'm still waiting to see what your PC is and it's Model and specs.
  13. Valery, Another option may be if you remember the groups your old avatar's friends participated in, you can rejoin those groups and look for them in the membership lists. All this costs is your time to review the group membership.

OK? [i Suggest to a Moderator that this thread me moved to the appropriate topic category] Now to your 2nd Avatar Issue... Since you have a working Avatar on your current PC then . . . Your support files for your 2nd Avatar have become corrupted and the for sure fix is to do a nice clean reinstall of your SL viewer. You need to follow the steps carefully as you will be removing "hidden" folders on your PC. Here is the link with instructions for this. http://community.secondlife.com/t5/English-Knowledge-Base/How-to-uninstall-and-reinstall-Second-Life/ta-p/1375231 These instructions are for the Viewer from Linden Lab. If you use any other 3rd party viewer, then please go to their support website and look for their Clean Install instructions. If you still have issues with your 2nd Avatar after this, you need to go to a quiet place and remove all it's objects, AO's and start getting dressed one item as a time until you find the objects messing with your look. 15. Kewl Specs... and I'm happy with my FPS on my old 4 core Dell with 8GB of memory and my ATI Radon 3800 series graphics card.. that system should scream fun in SL!
  16. Abby, Please read... https://secondlife.com/my/lindex/describe-limits.php? Specifically the section on How to request review of your limits You may request a review of your account to increase your limits. Please visit the support system and submit a ticket. Select Billing -> LindeX™ Billing and Trading Limits Review Request We'll review your request and get back to you within 5 business days. What is considered during a typical limits review Typically we are looking at your LindeX™ usage and your payment history. Limits Notes: 24 hour and 30 day limits are computed on a rolling basis. The buy limit summarizes and restricts market and limit buy usage of the LindeX™ exchange. The sell limit summarizes and restricts market and limit sell usage of the LindeX™ exchange. The purchase limit summarizes all US$ billing activity that was not fulfilled from a credit on your US$ account balance. The purchase limit restricts all nonrecurring US$ billing activity that can not be fulfilled from a credit on your US$ account balance. "Days" in the New Resident limits description refers to days since first billing transaction with Linden Lab.
  17. Pretty Rave Girl, You may be out of luck sweetie. The ATI Radeon Xpress 1150 is pretty old technology 6+ years - It was one of the 1st chip sets to support the Vista & Win7 Aero feature but the other specs for this Video System are kind of low end. This video card chip set only had up to 256mb of HyperMemory to use. You really need 512mb minimum and preferably 1GB or more of video memory these days. I have an older laptop like this I use a text only SL client on to keep in touch with my SL business interests and friends. Perhaps some other volunteer staffer in the Answers Team has experience getting this Vided Card working with a SecondLife 3D Viewer Client .
  18. Angelina, Welcome to the awe & wonder of shoes & boots in SL. Look for a transparent item [Looks like a large white shirt] in your Current Outfit inventory folder and unwear it as well. Most great fitting boots are this Texture and 2 or 4 boot objects + the proper foot shape. The transparent texture simply erases your ankles & feet to allow the boots to look their best in the design proportion.
  19. FireAngel, 1) If you purchased the Gift Card, contact the Carries Lingerie business owner and ask for a replacement. Many business owners have advanced Gift Card management systems that allow for this possibility. 2) If you received this Gift Card as a gift from another person you are out of luck and need to do all you can to support the recovery of lost Inventory items with Linden Lab. Follow this link for details: http://community.secondlife.com/t5/English-Knowledge-Base/Advanced-inventory-management/ta-p/1376385#Section_.3 Specifically... Tips for recovering lost inventory items If an item mysteriously disappears from your inventory, use the the procedures below to locate it. Click the Inventory button on the toolbar and select the RECENT tab. Items returned since last log off will be stored here. Clear the Second Life Viewer's cache. Search for the item by entering its name in the Filter Inventory field of the INVENTORY window. Search the Lost And Found folder. Search the Trash folder. Search folders listed at the top of the INVENTORY window. Your filter settings may be hiding some of your inventory items. To reset them, click the Gear icon at the bottom left of the INVENTORY window and choose Reset Filters. 3) Additionally this link may help as well: Performing a Clean Install of the Viewer. http://community.secondlife.com/t5/English-Knowledge-Base/How-to-uninstall-and-reinstall-Second-Life/ta-p/1375231
  20. TraciJo, 1) Stop making new question threads. 2) Click on thjis link below given to you by Amethyst to see and read the Minimum PC and Graphics Card requirements for SecondLife System Requirements Page 3) Update your computer's Video Drivers per this list Rolig posted back to you on an early question thread: Update your graphics card drivers. Select Options and Edit to add your PC & GC details to your original post. 5) If your PC is older, say 6 years of so you may also want to try this Viewer: [Link Below] http://imprudence.googlecode.com/files/Imprudence-1.3.2-Setup.exe It will work on non-SSE2 PCs. The Blog for this Viewer Programmer is here: http://blog.kokuaviewer.org/ I'm not sure how long they will be supporting non-SSE2 enabled PCs but this should get you going again. 22. What an interesting error message. The JIRA post below talks about this. https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-25566? It sounds like one of those pro-active maintenance things a smart server farm can do. If I was a LL person responsible for the monitoring program or daemon causing this message to go out, I'd think I was giving you fare warning about an automatic maintenance task that was being started [as a result of a poor performance indicator] on the server or communications channel your account was currently assigned / using [to internally access the desired Region]. So run Yasmin Run to another Region, preferably in another Server Farm / Channel - but of course, how would we know this? I was also told long ago, that our sign-ins to SL are usually handled by the same geographical Data Center, so if this Data Center is having these issues in general, wouldn't any attempt to escape the immediate cause of this follow us? Just saying! [Edited] In regards to the removed item of clothing not staying removed, there are a few steps in this process that can go haywire. 1) The Viewer issues the command to remove an item of clothing. [You selecting that command one of several ways] 2) The command is received by the local Region Server Software hosting your avatar. 3) The local Region Server Software acknowledges the item removal command by sending the command to the appropriate LL Asset Servers & back to all the active Viewers by updating the local Avatar "Changes" status cache 4) Your Viewer & the Viewers of other Avatars looking at you get the status :Change". 5) Your Viewer and other Avatar Viewers remove the item of clothing on your behalf by re-rendering you without it. When the Avatar Status Change [item removed from Avatar] fails to be saved on the LL Asset Servers for whatever reason [server side bug, Server-side command queue lag out, etc.] You get the situation where, when logging out and relogging, that pesky item of clothing is back on your Avatar. I have had Regions I own get like this and have had to Restart them for proper operation to be restored. I don't know why or how they got this way, I just did the restart of the Region and all was right again with the Second World. P.S.. You will also see this when building or landscaping as well. Moral: Bad Asset Server communication [regardless if from bad Client-Side or Server-Side communication] leads to Wonky Looks and Builds!
  23. Congratulations, Not necessarily - Check the link on your Dashboard 1st. You may need to re-certify your birthdate and/or provide verification of age information. https://secondlife.com/my/account/verification.php?lang=en-US
  24. Mr. Zemunner, I checked the region you lease your 8192 sqm parcel in. It appears that your Region Owner has Voice Services turned off at the Region level. Contact them to ask for Voice Services to be turned on so that parcel owners may selectively use voice services on their parcels as desired. Also, the Land Group "Familia Zemunner" has not had the parcel "Deeded" to it. So only your primary avatar "Yournamehere Resident" has any ability to modify the parcel settings. Then again, this appears to be a Mainland parcel and region. You may need to file a ticket with LL. Good luck!
