I don't think there is any way to get rid of this particular complaint. I left her a message asking her to re-log and see if it shows up. If she replies that it did not, I will send one to her manually and make a note of the transaction. We'll see how it goes
  2. Arwen Serpente wrote: I haven't heard that issue yet. Did you try redelivering to her to see if it arrives complete on a second try (assuming it's a copy item)? As luck would have it, it's a Mod/No Copy/Trans item I did a test delivery and it showed up in my inventory with no problems. I left the customer a message suggesting that she re-log to see if it shows up but haven't heard back from her yet.
  3. I just received a message from a SLM customer who says that the folder that they received via DD is empty. The item that they purchased is a very popular one which was converted to DD in March and I've never had a problem with it. Perhaps I've missed it but I've never heard of empty folders being sent. Have you heard of an empty folder being delivered by DD? Thanks!
  4. I use social media quite a bit, though on average I'm more of a reader than writer. Not only is it good for my SL business but there is a great community out there beyond this official forum. I run into communications from Rodvick frequently. I appreciate that he takes the time & makes the effort. From my RL professional experience most CEOs don't so I find his actions very refreshing. IMHO he just doesn't have the same freedom to post here as "official" communications are limiting. If you would like to know more about what's happening in SL it does help to broaden your horizons.
  5. I understand it may be on the way. In the meantime you can use Firestorm with the "Phoenix" view and it looks almost the same. I thought I would just be using it for uploads but I converted and stayed so far.
  6. TrunkzTomorrow2011 wrote: From what I can tell the search rankings havent changed in days. Has anyone else noticed this? Does anyone know whats going on and or what is being done about it? Yes, that's been my observation as well. The Relevance search hasn't changed on my store or with the main keywords that I check for quite some time now. My guess is that they haven't been running any updates on it.
  7. Cyneswith Luik wrote: So... just to get this absolutely straight in my own mind... lol If, as a merchant, you're selling your items which you've made yourself and therefore have full permission rights on them, you can go ahead and put them on the marketplace via DD, even if they're set to no copy for the buyer. BUT - if you are selling something which you yourself haven't made and do not have copy rights on it personally... then you can't put it on the marketplace via DD currently. Is that right? Only just woke up and started to get my head around this one.. heheh Yes, that's correct.
  8. I just finished putting up a new DD item today. It went up easily and what a relief not to have to run around and update all those Magic Boxes. We'll see how it sells but (knock on wood) the SLM has been going well for me.
  9. Unfortunately they use the term "no copy" in a confusing fashion. I am selling many items via DD that are "no copy/Trans" and I'm not having any problem with them. What they are really talking about is in Release Notes/Marketplace Current: "Direct Delivery support for no copy (Merchant does not have copy rights) items". So for example, a limited quantity "Trans" item that is being resold by someone other than the original creator. I really wish they had come up with a better term than "no copy" because it's freaking people out.
  10. Dartagan Shepherd wrote: The assumption would be that anything search can be rebuilt as well, which wouldn't need manual merchant care. And it wouldn't need merchant attention unless there's no longer a way to reassociate those wrong records back to their rightful place. Probably best not to call a corruption problem a search problem. Best thing I can think of is selective rollbacks only for the merchants that request them. Otherwise just think of all the changes that have been made since this first happened that will have to be redone. Doing that manually would be painful. Automating it and I don't trust that it will be done correctly.
  11. I updated 5 or 6 items back on March 22 and they each took about 1 minute total which I found slow but I kept at it. I can't imagine doing updates if I had to wait much longer. My guess is that even with the optimization that they are doing, updates are going to be slow for the next few months until the bulk of the conversions are through. I would leave it until then unless something is critical. There are a lot better ways to spend your time.
  12. Marcus Hancroft wrote: I still have hundreds of updates to do. Moving to folders and not boxes, etc. Just a suggestion, but a lot of people are doing the migration in phases. First they are just moving things "as is" and keeping them boxed. Some are going to go back, at some point in the future when things calm down and start with some of their most important items that they feel should be unboxed. Others are only moving to the folder system with brand new items. Either of these options might save you a lot of frustration.
  13. Josh Susanto wrote: >I had a really good sales day on Monday and no problems with deliveries or payments. So far DD is working out well for me. This is interesting. To what would you attribute the curious lack of problems widely reported by others? I attribute it to the fact that people who don't have problems usually don't take the time to respond to these types of queries. It's just human nature to become more involved when you have issues rather than when you don't. Having said that, I've read about quite a few positive experiences with DD posted on other forums and even in the Second Life Commerce Merchants inworld Chat. Let's face it, the environment in this Merchants' forum isn't exactly conducive to sharing positive experiences which is a shame because it skews the perspective and precludes a balanced discussion.
  14. I had a really good sales day on Monday and no problems with deliveries or payments. So far DD is working out well for me.
  15. I think it's likely that many problems are because of performance issues caused by the volume of new records generated by the conversion. LL seems to be working on getting that fixed. So what's the point of moving back to magic boxes and then having to move back again to DD? It will just cause more load on the system and make things worse not better. Seems like a really bad idea to me. I'm staying put in DD now that I'm there.
  16. VonGklugelstein Alter wrote: I put the items in question back in the magic boxes and the problem went away. All of my items are converted to DD. Some sales are normal and some are stuck as "Being Delivered". The same thing happened to me when all my items were in a magic box so I can't point to one or the other as causing the problem. If I was troubleshooting this, I would look at the overall performance issues first.
  17. The "Being Delivered" problem existed before the move to DD began so it's hard to tell if this is a new bug or just more of the same. As we all know, SLM has been dragging since the conversion began and it could be that this "slow performance" goes hand-in-hand with items & payments being stuck.

  19. From Marketplace Direct Delivery migration guide: Here is the planned migration schedule in 2012: April 2 through 13, 2012: Inworld Q&A sessions on using and migrating to Direct DeliveryApril 18, 2012: All listings priced L$10 and lower must use Direct DeliveryMay 16, 2012: Magic Boxes no longer allowed for any Marketplace listing--- You could argue that the proposed schedule is a tad ambitious but I'm really glad that they are closing out the Magic Boxes sooner than later mainly because it will finally eliminate all those products that have been orphaned by people who left SL so long-ago. I found the conversion itself to be quite painless and now I'm just holding my breath as we get through this initial startup. So far so good.
  20. Ann Otoole wrote: So basically the issue is the LL commerce team referring to something they in their minds called "magic box listings" in a manner that is different from what their paying customers refer to SLM listings which is what is on SLM. There are no "magic box listings". There are only SLM listings. Basically. It would have been better if they had used the same terminology as they did for the header names used on the SLM "Manage Listings" Screen, i.e. "Item Name" and "Listing Name".
  21. Pamela Galli wrote: I have not done any migration yet (and do not plan to anytime soon) but let me get this straight: The item listing name has to be the same as the actual name in inventory? I've done most of my migration and there seems to be some misinformation probably because the terms are confusing. I found that an Automatic Association worked if the new Item Name was the same as the old Item Name. So if you stick with the items as they are currently named in your Magic Box the association will occur (which makes a lot of sense). All of my items were automatically associated. Don't be confused with the Listing Name (which is how we might rename something to show up better in the marketplace). I hope this helps!
  22. Best Selling has never worked on the SLM. Here's the JIRA that was started in October 2010 https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/WEB-3140 . You can watch, vote & comment there.
